Battle Of The Sexes review

Image
Battle Of The Sexes stars Emma Stone as Billie Jean King and Steve Carell as Bobby Riggs. It follows the true story of the tennis match between world number one King and ex champ and hustler Riggs in 1973. Having seen the trailer before going to see this I can say confidently that is in no way like the trailer. In fact the trailer gives off a whole other vibe to the movie. It makes it feel like a comedy and it really isn't. Sure there is some funny moments here and there but this is a drama and performance driven movie and boy are the performances really good. Emma Stone is just brilliant once again as Billie Jean King and she really is one of my favorite actresses working today. She's had this and her award winning role in La La Land all in not even one year. I actually think she'll get nominated once again for this because she really is that good in it. She plays world number one women's tennis champion Billie Jean King who along with her team are fed up of men g

Legends Of Tomorrow 3x8 : Crisis on Earth X (4) review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The 4th and final part of what has been a really exciting and entertaining crossover begins right from where the last part ended. Professor Stein has been shot twice by nazi soldiers and while he did active the gateway for all the hero's to return home he is seriously hurt and can't move on his own. Jax merges with him and they go to the waverider where it's learned that the professor is in a very bad way and Jax is the only thing actually keeping him alive. He's like an anchor that just won't let go of it's cargo. As everyone leaves the room the professor awakens and asks Jax to let him take the cure that Cisco Harry and Caitlin made in part 1 of the crossover which will allow him and Jax's connection to the Firestorm matrix to break so both no longer need each other to live. Jax agrees after what was a really emotional scene and the professor drinks

The Flash 4x8 : Crisis on Earth X (3) review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The 3rd part of the crossover begins practically right where the second part ended where all hero's are being held in a nazi prison camp and as they try to think of a way to escape and meet a new superhero named The Ray Captain Lance walks onto the site and while he isn't captain Lance here he is a no nonsense leader of the nazi force so I guess some things never change. Just as everyone is about to executed by soldiers Leonard Snart comes to the rescue of them all and his boyfriend the before mentioned Ray. Earth X's Snart is a whole lot of fun. Full of quick whips and just some hilarious moments he is my favorite character to come out of this crossover. Back on Earth 1 and in Star Labs Felicity and Iris hatch a plan to fight back and try to rescue their friends who are all trapped in the pipeline as Eobard Thawne Earth X Oliver and Overgirl begin their plan to op

Arrow 6x8 : Crisis on Earth X (2) review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Part 2 of the crossover and it begins right where we left off after the reveals of who just was under the invaders masks. Skip to Star Labs and as Prometheus is unmasked it turns out to be none other than..Tommy Merlyn! yes a returning character from Season 1 but he isn't the Tommy that we remember as he is completely different. Corrupted and brainwashed to being completely faithful to the fatherland. Him and Oliver talk things out in what was quite an emotional scene up until Tommy completely tricks Oliver and tells him that this earth is weak and it will belong to him and his companions soon. Not seconds after he says this he kills himself right in front of Oliver who once again has to watch his bestfriend die. He really can't catch a break. Especially as in the last episode he somewhat proposes to Felicity who denies him and tells him that she wants to be with him but

Supergirl 3x8 : Crisis on Earth X (1) review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This year's crossover between Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends Of Tomorrow begins and while it isn't without some faults it is the most fun I've had watching a crossover between all shows since the original one 3 years ago. The episode begins as we are introduced to Earth X and it's inhabitants, hero's and villains populate this baron utopia that is set in a time where the Nazi's won the war and overthrew all other countries. We're first introduced to Oliver's mirror image of himself and he is a complete badass who shows no hesitation to kill as he flat out murders Earth X's version of Guardian also known as James Olsen. The episode really begins though with a brand new comic like intro for the crossover. It shows panels of all hero's and it was just a really nice touch. As things begin we see Barry fighting King Shark on the st

Arrow 6x7 : Thanksgiving review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode begins as Oliver and the SCPD are doing a food drive to help the less fortunate and they managed to get enough food to feed over 1200 families. As he says this Agent Watson surfaces with two members of her security detail and arrests Oliver right on the spot of once again accusing him of being The Green Arrow right in front of his son William who Oliver tells everything will be fine. Later as he is in court he is let out on bail of 5 million dollars which he of course pays off (no idea how but okay?)  Onto Diggle and as Curtis injects him with his new prototype everything seems to be working fine as he himself says that his tremor seems to be evaporating even if slowly. Of course is this short lived as Dig and the team are hot on the tail of Black Siren and Cayden James who once again return working together to steal some materials from certain companie

Legends Of Tomorrow 3x7 : Welcome to the jungle review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The Legends return once again and this time we're right away dropped into the 1967's Vietnam war. As the episode begins we're shown that Sara is still in her coma from last week and Jax has been placed as the acting captain. Jax who still is trying to break up Firestorm with the professor. This goes on the back burner in this episode as the legends are informed of trouble during Vietnam in 1967 right in the middle of the war. When they arrive they split up into two teams as Ray Amya and Zari pretend to be journalists Mick and Nate pretend to be soldiers to blend in. This of course doesn't go to plan as they are found out by Mick's father of all people. Mick tells Nate that he has serious daddy issues and flat out murdered him years ago. Left him to burn and that is basically how he became Heatwave. Later in the episode they actually bond a lot together and

The Flash 4x7 : Therefore I am review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This show does it again. I honestly have no idea how it can just go from last week's completely flat episode to this episode which was absolutely fantastic. It's just so frustrating because as I've said before this show as the potential to be better than all CW shows combined but given how inconsistent it is just bothers me.  Onto the episode and it begins after a first of many flashbacks to Devoe's past pretty much where it ended last week as Barry and Joe begin to question Devoe and his wife at their home. Devoe of course avoids all questions like a pro and Barry and Joe are forced to leave without getting any information. Later as Devoe is teaching a class at Central City University he once again sees Barry sitting in the back of the class watching on. Barry becomes literally obsessed with Devoe as the episode goes on and there is a lot of throwbacks to seas

Supergirl 3x7 : Wake up review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode begins as a deep sea diving expedition is taking place. As both crew members on board discover a ship it awakes and we're thrown right away to the DEO. Jon's father asks Winn where is the bathroom to which Winn replies with 'You've been here 3 weeks but haven't gone to the bathroom?' a genuinely hilarious moment. Winn encourages Jon to start to talk to his father but his mind is solely placed on this mysterious ship I mentioned earlier. So Kara Jon and Winn go to investigate and what they find isn't what they expected. It's Mon-El and he isn't dead (of course not) and he seems to be perfectly fine or is he? Skip back to the DEO and as Mon-El is treated to by Jon and Winn Kara questions him but he doesn't want to talk only to rest. Later as Mon-El awakes he attacks some agents and tries to steal some tech before be

Justice League review

Image
Where do I even begin with this review? Justice League has finally arrived and while it is fun it is also filled with many flaws. First of all let's start with the performances and Ben Affleck tries his absolute best as Bruce Wayne / Batman but honestly he looks a bit bored at times almost phoning in his performance in some scenes. It's such a shame really because of how incredibly brilliant he plays the role in Batman V Superman. This just feels phoned in during some scenes compared to his tour de force performance in Batman V Superman. That being said I really do love some of the shots of him looking over Gotham which really look like they are ripped from a comic book page. Gal Gadot is as good as ever as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman. She really is embracing this role and it clearly shows. A role model for young and older women all around the globe. Henry Cavill returns from the dead (literally) and he too is really embracing the role of Clark Kent / Superman. As he is resu

Arrow 6x6 : Promises Kept review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Starting off where it ended last week we see Slade and his son talk things over before Slade agrees to join his son in his fight. Oliver is still in hiding position as father and son somewhat bond and right away we're taking back to more flashbacks of Slade and we finally learn what made him come after Oliver in season 2. As he is washed up on an island somewhere his son informs him that he lost his eye and Slade mentions Oliver and his plan to get revenge on him someday. Fast forward a year and as Slade and his son are training it flashes between them and Slade and Oliver training on the island. Slade overcome with anger and frustration trains his son a bit too hard and this causes them to stop for awhile. More on Slade later.  There's a new player in Star City by the name of Dragon or as we later come to know him Ricardo Diaz a criminal mastermind who somehow managed

Gotham 4x9 : Let them eat pie review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode begins as we see the PYG once again in disguise as he lures homeless people into his crusade just so he can kill them. It then moves to Gordon who is making his way to his new office. Complete with Captain James Gordon on the door. Bullock is still bitter and heartbroken over what his partner done to him in last week';s episode. He accuses Jim of not knowing what is right for Gotham and had he killed Penguin on that pier all that time ago instead of letting him live who knows what the city would be like. Jim tells him he would have made the exact same decision even if it was today. To which Bullock exits the room and Captain Gordon takes his seat. Penguin visits Sofia and it's easy to notice that he is on to her and really suspects that she is the one who payed off the mayor to promo Gordon to GCPD captain. Sofia plays this down obviously but sh

Legends Of Tomorrow 3x6 : Helen Hunt review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The Legends are back for another quality episode and this week's starts as we are placed into Hollywood during the time period of 1937. We see a young starlet enter Warner Bros movie lot and right away gets a part in a big upcoming movie. The episode even starts with an old school Hollywood movie intro which was just a small touch but it really added so much to the episode it's things like that, that really matter at least to me.  Onto the episode now and the break-up of Firestorm begins as Ray tries to de-merge Stein and Jax and as it seems like all is going to plan there is a massive explosion which causes Jax and the professor to switch bodies. Each now fit with one another's personalities. This was absolutely hilarious and made for some series stand out moments. As the Legends discover the latest anachronism which just so happens to be the movie starlet that I

The Flash 4x6 : When Harry met Harry review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode starts as wee see Ralph and Barry getting some coffee. As they step outside they are interrupted by a shooter. He attempts to shoot Ralph but the bullet literally bounces off of him and hits in the shooter in the leg. The same thing happens when he tries to shoot him again. This was such a silly start to the episode and that unfortunately is what the rest of the episode is like silly. And very silly at times. A new meta appears in Central City  Mina Chayton or as she comes to be known as Black Bison. A meta who can posses ancient artifacts and use them for her own evil deeds. We learn she's doing this because she wants to take back an amulet that once belonged to her tribe as it is to be placed in a museum. The Flash gets Elongated man to tag along with him in trying to take her down who is complete with a new suit that looks like a cosplayer came up

Supergirl 3x6 : Midvale review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode begins with the Danver sisters making their way home. They arrive at the house they grew up in as Alex seems depressed and distant from not only Kara but her mom also. As Kara gets an earful from Alex about how she was in the same position for months but she wouldn't listen to anyone either Kara talks to her mom in a heartfelt moment. This brings us 10 years into the past we discover what really brought Alex and Kara so closely together. I have to start off this section by saying that the casting for the young Danver sisters is absolutely spot on. Both actually look like Kara and Alex and they also share almost identical character traits which is always importing. We learn that Kara is basically an outcast at her school all but for one kid who she becomes really close friends with. A boy namex Kenny Lee. They even go on somewhat of a date and Kara r

Arrow 6x5 : Deathstroke returns review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Moving on from last week's really good episode Arrow continues it's good pacing and action filled goodness this week. As the episode starts with a returning Vigilante who is out to kill a corrupt politician. He fails in his quest of course, thwarted by the team and we finally do find out his identity. He is none other than Dinah's ex partner and lover. She of course is taken back by this as she saw him get shot in the head right in front of her but it turns out that the dark matter from the particle accelerator also affected him giving him the power of instant healing. So that explains how he survived that attack by Prometheus last season. Nice to see them tie all that together.  The FBI agent who's been investigating Oliver steps up her pursuit and begins to question and interview members of the team starting with Diggle. She later begins to question others me

Gotham 4x8 : Stop hitting yourself review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode starts as we see Ed in the middle of the ring in Cherry's club in the narrows dressed up as Penguin. This of course is all just part of the act until Grundy arrives and his latest fight against a masked man begins. The masked man gets quite a few shots in as Grundy starts having memory flashes of when him and Tabitha were together. He manages to overcome this and ends up winning the fight. More on this whole situation later. Jim Gordon is called to a meeting with the city's Mayor who offers him a promotion to Captain of the GCPD. Jim right away feels guilty over this as Harvey of course is the acting captain. He doesn't want to stab his long term partner in the back but towards the end he does what is needed to be done and takes his rightful position as the new captain of GCPD. This was a long time coming and it does hurt seeing the relation

Legends Of Tomorrow 3x5 : Return of the mack review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode begins in London 1895 as we see Rip investing an apparent death..by a Vampire. Skip right through to the team on board the wave rider and as Nate was up all night analyzing these so called anachronisms he forms a sort of pattern between them and notices that all but 2 are connected. One is in Zari's time period of 2042 and one in London 1895 where the news papers reports that a vampire is on the loose and hunting people down. So once again it is mission time to correct the anachronism and restore order.  This episode further proves why this show is the best DC show on TV at the moment. It's always funny, filled with action and the cast are always amazing sharing a unique and special bond. Some of the stuff that happens in this episode is just downright hilarious and honestly I'd expect nothing less anymore from the Legends. Special shout out

The Flash 4x5 : Girls night out review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode starts in Star Labs as Felicity arrives to celebrate Iris's bridal party. Iris convinces Caitlin to also come along as she wasn't entirely too keen on the idea at first. Cecil rounds out the guests as they all go to have dinner. As they are having dinner the same guy who was with Caitlin in the premiere episode appears and tells Caitlin that Amulet ( a badass who can control metal substances ) wants to speak with her. Caitlin loses her cool (pun intended) and turns into full on Killer Frost and takes out the guy who is later named snake eye by Caitlin. More on this whole situation later. With Iris going to celebrate her impending wedding to Barry he too is out celebrating with Joe, Harry Wells Cisco and Ralph Dibney. Only his 2nd episode and Elongated man is already one of my favorite characters this show has introduced since H.R. last season. H

Supergirl 3x5 : Damage review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode starts with a bus heist as Kara and Alex come to the rescue. Loved how Kara was all cocky as she saved the bus. ''Anyone else want some? I didn't think so'' just brilliant.  Flash forward to Samantha and she arrives outside her daughter Ruby's school who she proceeds to let out of the car, as Ruby talks to one of her classmates he suddenly collapses and it's later discovered he was diagnosed with lead poisoning. Morgan Edge is back and more ruthless than ever. He straight out accuses Lena Luthor of being the cause of the lead poisoning after she let off that lead bomb in season 2's finale. Of course this isn't the case at all and at the end of the episode Supergirl saves Lena in what was a thrilling final act as Morgan Edge tried his up most to erase both Lena and the evidence that it was him who was poisoning people
