The Flash 4x7 : Therefore I am review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

This show does it again. I honestly have no idea how it can just go from last week's completely flat episode to this episode which was absolutely fantastic. It's just so frustrating because as I've said before this show as the potential to be better than all CW shows combined but given how inconsistent it is just bothers me.

Onto the episode and it begins after a first of many flashbacks to Devoe's past pretty much where it ended last week as Barry and Joe begin to question Devoe and his wife at their home. Devoe of course avoids all questions like a pro and Barry and Joe are forced to leave without getting any information. Later as Devoe is teaching a class at Central City University he once again sees Barry sitting in the back of the class watching on. Barry becomes literally obsessed with Devoe as the episode goes on and there is a lot of throwbacks to season 1's particle accelerator turn on as we once again see the original Harrison Wells (Eobard Thawne in disguise) present his creation to the press.

More info on Devoe is  found out as he asks his wife to help construct his thinking cap! she does this and tells him that they need a form of energy to power the cap. This is where the particle accelerator comes into play as Devoe plans to use it's energy to power the thinking cap. He achieves his goal and becomes a genius with superior level intellect. Towards the end of the episode Barry now slapped with a restraining order against the Devoe's confronts him once more and he tells Barry that he knows he is The Flash and that he is smarter than anyone on the planet. Barry may be the fastest man alive but he has the fastest mind alive. This was such a tension filled confrontation and I loved it.

Wally returns to the Team and as Barry asks him what was he up to while he was gone he mentions that he was up against an alien starfish. This is obviously a big reference to Starro the first villains the Justice League went up against in the comics. A nice little nod. The episode ends as Devoe who's body is completely breaking down has to return to his chair and plug himself back in.

This episode was amazing, it was really story driven and didn't feature any silly jokes. It is hands down my favorite episode this season. The Flash is back once again at breakneck speed!
