Supergirl 3x4 : The faithful review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode starts with a flashback going all the way back to the very first episode of this show. The scene where the then unknown Supergirl saved a plane from crashing. This time though we see it from inside the plane as passengers scream and pray for their lives. Kara does save the plane as we know and we're introduced to a character named Coville inside the plane as he notices Kara basically take off into flight. It was at this moment that his life changed forever. As he says to Kara later in the episode it was in that moment he realized that she was god.  Reign's character was developed a lot better in this episode. Probably the best episode that we've seen her in so far. We see her struggle to make time for her daughter as she is consumed by her workload at Luther Corp. The reaction her daughter has to her mom pretty much just leaving her to sleep

Arrow 6x3 : Next of kin review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode starts with a new intro. Complete with Oliver saying Diggle is the Green Arrow as he has made a promise his son's mother that he would look after him. Nice little touch but I'd expect nothing else from this show as it's always on top of stuff like this.  The episode really kicks in as we see Team Arrow in action including Dig in full on Green Arrow get up. He fails to fire any arrows as it is noticed later by the team and Dinah continues to worry about him. He tries to overcome it but he isn't used to be team leader. He later overcomes this but it was god to see Diggle have to choose between what is right and what is wrong and the whole dynamic of the team changes in just one episode. Dig even gets a badass new weapon a crossbow that shoots arrows, this was another nice touch as it further separates Dig from Oliver as Green Arrow. We s

Gotham 4x6 : Hog day afternoon review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Going to start this review off by saying that this week's episode of Gotham was absolutely brilliant. It is this show back at it's absolute best. One of the reasons why this show was such a big success in S2 and some of S3 was because of the villains. Lots of Batman villains done with comic accuracy and it was just a whole lot of fun. This episode reminded me of that and I loved it so much. Professor PYG has arrived in Gotham, killing cops who are on Penguin's payroll and dressing them in severed Pig heads, seriously creepy stuff but like I said I loved it. We see PGY in his warehouse / slaughterhouse prepping a PYG head for his next victim while we hear opera music blaring in the background to which he hums along. This was so similar to the Arkham Knight video game and just the overall tone was seriously creepy. PYG honestly feels like a perfect fit for this show

Legends Of Tomorrow 3x3 : Zari review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The Legends return with yet another kickass episode. Can I just start off this review by saying that this show has been the most consistent of all the DC TV shows since Season 2 began. It's always fun, always entertaining and sometimes just down right hilarious. The other shows could learn a thing or two from this. Especially The Flash. This week's episode starts off and we are in Seattle 2042 which has is practically run by a gone off the rails Argus who have put a anti meta human act in place since 2021. We see that water powered meta from last week return and kill a load of guards who are transporting a prisoner to the Argus base. Said prisoner is Zari a hacker and all around badass person who Mick right away takes a liking to when they meet. The legends head to Seattle and take her a board the wave rider where she tells them that her brother is being held captive b

The Flash 4x3 : Luck be a lady review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Gonna start this review by saying that this episode was absolutely terrible. I mean after the highs of last week I was really hoping The Flash was somewhat back to it's best but nope. This episode may be the worst episode the show has ever produced in my opinion. Yes there's some funny moments in here but some are just downright terrible in particular the exchange between Harry Wells who returns from Earth 2 and Wally. It was just so awkward and didn't really add anything to their relationship. It's like they were trying way too hard to be funny when it was just coming off as almost cringe worthy. Gone is the charm and just overall feel of joy from season 1 and 2. I don't know what it is but this show is definitely missing something. I'll never stop watching as I love these characters but season 4 isn't off to a good start at all. I got a feeling this

Supergirl 3x3 : Far from the tree review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode starts off with a new intro. Similar to Arrow and The Flash's. Complete with the ''My name is Kara Zor El'' line. I felt they should have done this a long time ago but it's here now which is good.  We start off and see Kara & Alex in Kara's apartment discussing the upcoming wedding shower for Maggie and Alex before Jon arrives at their doorstep asking them to take care of the city while he goes away..they find out he's going back to Mars so Kara decides to tag along. There's a genuinely funny moment as Jon and Kara arrive at a warehouse and enter to find an old fashioned car which will act as their way to Mars. Just the banter between Kara and Jon makes this scene brilliant. As they leave the warehouse the car transforms into a ship and they are off to the red planet. More on that car later. Alex's mom visit

Happy Death Day review

Image
This movie starts with the usual Universal intro but it keeps going back and back like it's re-playing it over and over again. A nice little nod to the movie ahead. A small little detail sure but it made me smile. We start off with the main character Tree Gelbman awaking in a dorm room on her birthday of all days much to her dismay. We're introduced to what will later become the somewhat love interest in this movie in Cory. Tree rushes out of the room and heads to her own place interacting with all her sorority members and room mate along the way. She's invited to a party later that night and while walking there she notices a musical box in a walkway under a bridge so as you would she investigates. It's at this time when she is killed by a masked killer and wakes up once again in the same bed in the same dorm room living the same day over again. This proceeds to happen again before she realizes something isn't quite right. There isn't all that much blood or

Arrow 6x2 : Tribute review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. First thing this episodes starts off with is Oliver entering the building to his office and he's stopped by the media who all want the answer to the ultimate question. Is he Green Arrow or not? of course he responds with no but he names drops Bruce Wayne which was just absolutely brilliant. Easily the highlight of this episode. We learn that Oliver is being investigated by the FBI and an agent named Samantha Watson. A real hard nosed agent who seriously reminded me of Amanda Waller at times. Ruthless to the bone and just downright savage at others. Not caring who or want gets in her way in revealing the truth. I already love her character. I have to mention the new opening for Arrow. No longer just the name Arrow on the screen it flashes all members of the team's logo's before saying Arrow. Much like Legends Of Tomorrow's opening. Small touch but I like the ne

Gotham 4x5 : The Blade's Path review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. We start off this week's episode seeing the former Butch being wheeled out of Gotham City hospital because as the workers put it they have to make room for other patients given that Butch hasn't woken up since he arrived. They drive to Slaughter Swamp (nice nod to the comics) where they dump his body into the water and later he emerges as Solomon Grundy. I thought this wasn't going to work at all at first but man does Drew Powell pull it off well. He comes out of the water to find some homeless guys singing the Grundy nursery rhyme, he proceeds to beat them up before taking some of their clothes, he eventually hears the nursery rhyme and from that Grundy is born. This was a nice way to introduce Solomon Grundy as it was very comic book like. More on Grundy later. Onto Bruce and we see him in Wayne Manor still examining the knife belonged to Ra's we learn that B

Legends Of Tomorrow 3x2 : Freakshow review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. We start off this week's episode and see that Nate and Vixen are living a normal life together in Central City. As Nate pops out to get some stuff Vixen sees her would be grand daughter on TV and runs off to find her leaving Nate dumb founded in the process. We later find out that she went to Detroit to see her up close for herself before returning to her original time period. But as she tells the team something is wrong with her totem as she feels herself lose control each time she uses it. She rejoins the team at the end of the episode which was good to see. Ray Palmer develops new technology to help with anacronisms. Complete with the 'Shrink ray' name which was just hilarious. The latest anacronism appears at a freakshow during the 1800's in the US. A Sabertooth turns out to the aboration and so the mission begins to set it right. Speaking of the sabertoot

The Flash 4x2 : Mixed Signals review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. We start off this week's episode by seeing a new meta in action named Deacon or as we later come to know him..Kilgor. He has the power to control any form of technology at a seconds notice. We later find out that he was part of a team that came up with some tech which they then sold for a lot of money which he got none of so obviously he wants revenge so he sets out to kill them all (as you do I suppose) Onto Barry whom we see having a lot of fun making breakfast for him and Iris. While Iris was sleeping Barry managed to sort out their entire wedding plans much to Iris's concerns. Barry seems out of the loop a lot in this episode. I don't know if it's just speedforce after effects as they never explain but he definitely feels off.  At Star Labs we see that Cisco has a built a new suit for Barry with a whole bunch of tech inside of it. That'll be important l

Supergirl 3x2 : Trigger review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. We start off this week's episode and see Kara spending a lot of time by herself missing Mon-El, waking up to an empty bed and eating alone. We also see that Samantha (Reign) is living a somewhat normal life with her daughter who definitely knows something is up with her mom. More on the daughter later. We learn from Lena that Sam will now be running the day to day operations of Luther Corp as Lena has decided to put all her attention into Cat.Co. Makes sense really as she didn't just pay millions of dollars for the company to never be there. Speaking of Lena she is certainly no push over and seems like she will be butting heads with Jimmy Olsen throughout the season to do what she thinks is best for Cat.Co and although friends with Kara she seems like a no nonsense boss so it'll be interesting to see if she notices how Kara zips in and out during the day to do her Su

Arrow 6x1 : Fallout review

Image
Before starting this review I just want to let everyone know that there will be big *SPOILERS* for the episode ahead. With that being said let's get into my review of Arrow's Season 6 premiere. We start off 5 months on from the ending of season 5  we see the team back in action in the midst of stopping another missile strike on Star City. Love how lots of different trick arrows were introduced in this episode. Carrying on from last season where lots were introduced trick arrows is what the Green Arrow is all about. Sure he has the regular arrows but trick arrows add a nice dynamic to his whole fighting style. There's a flashback to the Lian Yu fallout and we learn that not everyone survived in once piece. There was no major Team Arrow casualties but Samantha William's father dies in Oliver's arms and says to him to make sure he is a good father to their son so that is what Oliver has been doing the past few months. Much to the dismay of William who blames him

Gotham 4x4 : The Demon's Head review.

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Starting off this week and see that Bruce has brought the knife he purchased in last week's auction to get it examined by a professional. He introduces Bruce and Alfred to his grandson Alex a student who is also keen to understand the meaning of the knife just like his grandfather. Bruce and Alfred leave them to do their thing but of course things don't go as planned as Ra's Al Ghul invades the establishment and kills the older gentlemen rather ruthlessly who was examining the knife. Alex somehow manages to escape into a back room and hides the knife. More on the knife later. The relationship between Bruce and Jim really stepped up in this episode. Gordon knows Bruce and Alfred are up to something even going as far as to say to Alfred that he knows something is up. Later we here Jim say to Bruce that now isn't the time to ''Play detective'' whic

Legends Of Tomrrow 3x1 : Aruba-Con review

Image
Before starting this review I just want to let everyone know that there will be big *SPOILERS* for the episode ahead. With that being said let's get into my review of Legend Of Tomorrow's Season 3 premiere. Starting off basically right where season 2 ended we learn that the Legends have indeed broken time and right away get relived of their duties by Rip Hunter and his new organization The Time B ureau to which Sara hilarious says ''you only created this five minutes ago how can you relive us off our duties'' but as it is time has a funny way of dealing with things and Rip has actually had 5 years to build up this organization. So the team are scattered (not all throughout time thankfully) but all over different locations.  Sara is a sales assistant in a retail store, Ray works for a mobile dating app company, Nate is Central City's 2nd biggest hero after Kid Flash, Mick is in Aruba and Jax and Stein have parted their own ways. Meeting up once a week

The Flash 4x1 : The Flash Reborn review

Image
Before starting this review I just want to let everyone know that there will be big *SPOILERS* for the episode ahead. With that being said let's get into my review of The Flash's Season 4 premiere. First off I have major issues with this episode. Firstly why do they say it's 6 months since Barry left and went into the speed force when it was just over 4 months? I know that's a small issue to have but still it doesn't add up. We start the episode off with Kid-Flash and Vibe who are hot on the tail of meta human peek-a-boo a returning meta from season 1. It was nice to see her back but she didn't really do anything as she was apprehended in a matter of moments. As the team celebrate another victory a  samurai flies down and attacks Kid-Flash and Vibe. We later find out that it wasn't actually a samurai it was robotic samurai or as Cisco called it a Samuroid. More on the samurai later. We see Caitlin who is now working in a bar she seems to be completely

Blade Runner 2049 review

Image
Blade Runner 2049 starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford and Jared Leto among many other talents. Set in 2049 (the title gave it away I know) this is set almost 30 years after the original. Speaking of the original I just watched it last week and I can confidently say this movie is on par if not better than it. Ryan Gosling stars as the modern day Blade Runner a police officer tasked with taking down or as it's called in the movie ''retiring'' rouge replicants. The movie even starts off with Gosling's character K or as we come to know him later Joe retiring one of these replicants played by Dave Baustista. As he is leaving he uses his drone to scan the area and finds what is later dug up to be remains of a body which we learn was pregnant and gave birth to a human baby which is very rare almost like a miracle as it never happens considering most people are just replicants. Jared Leto is scarily good in this. Given he has very little screen time in this he p

Supergirl 3x1 : Girl Of Steel review

Image
Before starting this review I just want to let everyone know that there will be big *SPOILERS* for the episode ahead. With that being said let's get into my review of Supergirl's Season 3 premiere. We start off with a dream sequence similar actually to that of the one we just saw with Clark in that new Justice League trailer. We see Kara and Mon-El in a wide open area surrounded by a mass flower bed. Kara walks to a mysterious woman who we find out later is actually her mom as she says it herself. Her mom has been re cast as Erica Durance who people who've watched Smallville like myself will know as Lois Lane. She'll definitely be a good addition to this cast proceeding she sticks around of course. The episode really begins with a car chase through the streets as Maggie and Alex are hot on the tail or an armored truck just about to capsize them when Supergirl arrives and saves the day as she does. We learn that Kara as been distancing herself from everyone eve

Wonder Woman review

Image
Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine among many other talents Gal Gadot shines as the Amazonian Princess Diana Prince. Set in the paradise island of Themyscira, this movie starts out with the origin of the God Of War told to a young Diana by her mother Queen Hippolyta. The Amazons wield the only weapon that can kill a god..the god killer! only to be held by the fiercest of the Amazon warriors. Fast forward years into the future and we see Diana training and learning her craft to which she injuries her trainer to the point of almost knocking her out completely. Diana riddled with guilt runs to the shoreline and sees a plane crash land into the ocean. It is then that we are introduced to Captain Steve Trevor. Diana's love interest and a member of the British Intelligence. Both lead roles in this share a really good connection and some of the scenes between them are genuinely hilarious. The scenes where Diana is introduced to things in mans world for the first time ar

The Glass Castle review

Image
The Glass Castle starring Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson, and Naomi Watts among many other talents. Based on the book of the same name by Jeannette Walls d epicting Walls's real-life childhood spent squatting in homes and living in poverty, the film stars Brie Larson  as Walls with Watts and Harrelson in tow. The performances are what really make this movie. Brie Larson and Harrelson are just brilliant in their roles and without them this movie just wouldn't have worked. Brie Larson as I've always known is a really talented actress and she proves it here once again. Harrelson is just brilliant in the role of the drunken abusive and down right cruel sometimes father Rex Walls. Harrelson has to be nominated for an oscar for this in my opinion. It's that good of a performance. He along with Brie Larson carry the movie to it's biggest and highest points. Not putting any other cast members down or anything but the two before mentioned are just amazing. Switching fro

Gotham 4x3 : Those who hide behind masks review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Starting off this week's episode we see the origin of Ra's Al Ghul. Some guy (we aren't told his name) finds the would be Demon's Head dead in what is a field full of fallen warriors during a big battle that was set during AD 125. He takes Ra's body and brings it to another location which houses the lazarus pit, he proceeds to dump Ra's body into the pit and he comes out born again. The actor who plays Ra's was a little bit over the top when he came out of the pit but besides that everything else was fine about this scene. Told to look for his heir by this man who hands him a knife that will be the key to everything. More on the knife later. Onto Bruce and we see him standing on a rooftop once again looking over a shipment belonged to Penguin being moved around. Love how him and Alfred communicate, always bickering and deciding what is right and wha
