The Suicide Squad review

Image
Back in 2016 David Ayer unleashed Suicide Squad to the world. Featuring a world taken over Harley Quinn played by Margot Robbie, a somewhat controversial Joker in Jared Leto and overall while I wasn't the biggest fan of the movie it did have some redeeming qualities. 5 years later and while some familiar faces have returned it's a new director in the hot seat. James Gunn has written and directed The Suicide Squad and not only does it improve over the previous movie in almost every category it expands the DC Universe in a massive way featuring a sleuth of villains both well known and not so well known. Returning characters like Harley Quinn, Rick Flag and Amanda Waller are all back but now also along for the ride are names like Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Ratcatcher 2 and King Shark. And boy do they bring the star quality too with names like Idris Elba, John Cena and even Peter Capaldi joining the chaos.  The Suicide Squad's premise is pretty similar to the previous movie. Ama

The Flash 7x18 : Heart of the Matter - Part 2 review.

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The season finale of The Flash's seventh season has come and gone and with it we got the showdown between The Flash and Godspeed, the return of an adversary and a renewal of vows. The episode begins with Bart still in a coma as we saw last week. Nora who is speaking with Caitlin is struggling with the situation. Not only is Bart in a coma, but they have no real way of him right now and her dad (Barry) is still inside of the mindscape of August Heart. Speaking of being inside at the end of last weeks episode we saw Barry confront the true August Heart. Well this week we learn of his almighty plan and to be honest it's kind of weak. He just wants organic speed instead of artificial speed. If he doesn't get his wish both he and his clones will lay waste to everything and everyone in their path. Barry downright refuses however which leads to him being given an

Superman & Lois 1x13 : Fail Safe review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Another week and yet another great episode of Superman & Lois. This weeks episode begins with plenty of little tidbits of info. We learn that Morgan Edge is in custody at the D.O.D, Leslie who was his assistant is in the wind for now and that Ex-Kryptonite which Morgan Edge had been using on his subjects during his experiments is to extracted from the mines in Smallville so that nobody can ever use it again. With Clark now letting John Henry Irons stay onside at the Kent Farm the two attempt to bond outside of their alter egos with Clark offering him a lifetime supply of food for saving him. It'll be interesting to see if this friendship becomes a big part of the show going forward. As for the boys they go off to school where a special assembly is taking place to discuss Morgan Edge and his intentions for Smallville. With everything now out in the open Johnatha

Legends Of Tomorrow 6x10 : Bad Blood review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. After last weeks pretty abysmal outing can the Legends of Tomorrow return to some form of normality this week? that being said has this show ever truly been normal? with that being said the episode begins with Constantine who is still searching heavily for map to the Fountain of Imperium. He is seen questioning Aliestar Crowley who does know where the map is and who has it. A knock on the door is soon heard and the holder of the map is a woman. Well she's a Vampire and can't come inside unless she is invited in by Constantine. When she is inside she hands over the map and something else belonging to Crowley. A bottle of mysterious red liquid. A red liquid that it turns out grants whoever drinks it the ability to conduct magic but at a cost. Said cost isn't expanded upon however so it'll be interesting to see things play out especially given the ending o

Space Jam : A New Legacy review

Image
Who remembers the original Space Jam?? starring Michael Jordan who arguably is one of the greatest basketball players to ever step on the court was a fun. family friendly adventure. With 25 years having passed and with this generations best ball player Lebron James in the hot seat can this version of Space Jam destroy it's predecessor's range on the court? the movie begins and almost right away it's clear to see that Lebron James just isn't quite up to the task here. His acting is totally one note and almost monotone at times. It's like he's in one gear and it doesn't change for the entirety of the movie. From his relationship with his son to the friendships he makes with the Looney Toons gang it's all average and while the Looney Toons do bring the comedy there really just isn't enough here to to really stand out.  As for the story overall it's been massively updated from the original with improved technology as expected. From phones, livestre

The Flash 7x17 : Heart of the Matter - Part 1 review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The first of a two part season finale of The Flash season 7 begins in 2049. We see Godspeed tearing through the city with Nora West Allen (XS) hot on his tail. She ends up stopping him with a speedforce like whip which takes him to the ground. It doesn't last very long however soon enough Godspeed is back on his feet and ready to unleash his energy on XS. Another speedster then zips in by phasing right through Godspeed. This of course is Bart Allen (Impulse) and he stops Godspeed right in his tracks by doing this. Godspeed does end up phasing himself. He phases through the ground as they get a report that Godspeed is heading straight for The Flash Museum. Inside both Allen kids arrive but they're too late. Godspeed can be seen using the Cosmic Treadmill to travel back in time. The speedsters both follow him which is how they've ended up in the current timel

Superman & Lois 1x12 : Through the Valley of Death review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Superman & Lois returns from it's hiatus and last time out we were treated to a season best episode can this episode continue in that vain? we begin as we see John Henry Irons in his RV. He is looking for someone who we hear his AI say is this Earth's counterpart to his younger sister. He stops her getting out of a cab but then ends up getting a call from Lois Lane. The same call we saw her make at the end of the previous episode. John was right Superman has been turned. It leads right into this new episode as we're then back with Superman who hasn't been fully turned yet but is instead trying his upmost to fight back against what is happening to him. With each passing moment however he is struggling to fight back as the eradicator pushes him further and further into a monster so to speak. Back in Smallville and both Johnathan and Jordan come up wit

Legends Of Tomorrow 6x9 : This is Gus review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Legends of Tomorrow returns from it's week hiatus with what may possibly my least favorite episode this show has ever produced. Not only was it nonsensical but it was just flat out random scenes flung together and while there was one or two good scenes as a whole it just wasn't nowhere near the level I expect from this show. The episode begins aboard the waverider as it's Behrad's 25th birthday. After being informed of this by Gideon he heads to the main deck where the rest of the Legends can be seen. Except for Mick who is seen on his phone talking to his daughter who says she needs to see him ASAP. He gets her on board the waverider and it's immediately clear what her problem is. She's pregnant. Heavily pregnant at that. But how did Mick not know his daughter was pregnant? well that's because technically we're in the future. 2023 Vanco

Black Widow review

Image
The time has come. It's taken over 10 years and a global pandemic but Black Widow the first standalone movie for the Avenger has arrived. But can it live up to the hype?? Black Widow is set in the MCU right after Captain America : Civil War as we see Natasha Romanoff on the run from the government. But first we get plenty of expose and backstory on a young Natasha and her sister Yelena. Beginning in 1995 Ohio we're shown Natasha and her sister living a normal all American style life. However when their father returns home one night they're forced to flee their home and Ohio. A chase ensues but the family manage to escape as they soon arrive in Cuba. It's from here where Natasha and Yelena's journey and transformation really begins. With their dad Alexi working undercover they're basically tossed into a cell and forced to train relentlessly until they are declared a Black Widow as part of a process invented and controlled by a man named Drekov and later in Task

The Flash 7x16 : P.O.W. review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. After last weeks much improved episode of The Flash can this weeks episode continue that trend as we near the finish line of the season? the episode begins as we see Barry watching the news. Reports of the speed war are escalating within Central City with the Godspeed Clones still wrecking havoc in the streets. As Barry gets up off the chair he once again sees Nora his daughter. But unlike last week this time Nora begins to phase in and out of existence with only one clear warning. The future is changing with what is happening in the current timeline. With the Godspeed Clones very much now a big danger within Central City will them arriving now really affect the future and more importantly will Nora cease to exist? back at Star Labs and Barry who is a bit shaken up after what he just once again dreamed about is informed that Central City is basically in a electronic lo

Freaky review

Image
From the director of the wonderfully bizarre and highly enjoyable Happy Death Day and it's sequel comes a new slice of horror comedy in Freaky. Starring Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton Freaky is a body swapper, a slasher and a comedy all rolled into one. The story centers around a serial killer who targets kids during their homecoming dance every year. When that time rolls around once again and more killings take place we're introduced to our protagonist in Mille played by Kathryn Newton. She's not very popular in school and doesn't really interact with many people expect two of her best friends. Her home life is complicated with her mom being a bit of a drunk and her older sister a police officer.  The main gist of Freaky is a body swap type movie like I mentioned but there's such a unique twist to it here that just really works. First off is Vince Vaughn who not only plays the serial killer known as the butcher but when his spirit is transferred into Mille via a
