Superman & Lois 3x10 : Collision Course review

Image
Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This weeks episode of Superman and Lois is an interesting one that's for sure. We begin as Lois says that she has now completed her chemo-therapy process. She talks about how having cancer has changed not just her own life but everyone around her. With her chemo-therapy now done it'll be interesting to see what happens next with Lois. The Kent family have a mini celebration of Lois's feat atop a building where she basically tells Clark that she now intends on getting information from Peia. A confession from her so to speak. A confession of her and Bruno Mannheim's involvement in a crime that sent Lex Luthor to prison instead of them. Will Peia be willing to tell Lois everything?? well yes and no as she refuses to tell Lois anything until she gets to see her son Matteo. Lois agrees but more on this in just a bit.  Back at the Kent family home and it is

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This is it folks. The final episode of The Flash. The final race for the Scarlet Speedster as he faces one of his toughest challenges to date. The episode opens up with some returning faces in the form of Zoom (Hunter Zolomon) Godspeed (August Heart) Reverse Flash (Eobard Thawne) and finally Savitar (Future Barry Allen / Flash) they've all been brought together by none other than Eddie Thawne who is now in full on Cobalt Blue mode. So much so that he finally has a really cool looking very comic accurate suit. He has brought them all together in his ultimate plan to kill The Flash once and for all. While this was a cool moment seeing all previous Speedster villains come together it just fell flat for me. Not to mention how they're treated later which really not only hurt their overall characters but annoyed me to no end. We're soon back at the hospital whe

Superman & Lois 3x9 : The Dress review

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Superman and Lois is back after a short hiatus and with it we get one of the most emotional episodes this season as for the most part it solely revolves around Clark and Lois along with some intense moments between John Herny and Bruno Mannheim who are at war throughout. The episode begins 17 years in the past at The Daily Planet where we see Clark and Lois talking. A co-worker runs up to Lois informing her that she has been nominated for an award for her journalism. The award is the second highest honor a journalist can get but Lois doesn't seem keen on attending. It all changes when Clark buys her a red dress that he says cost him a lot of money and even his collection of baseball cards. It is this dress that plays a major role throughout the episode as Lois learns that the chemo-therapy has been successful but once it finishes up she will have to have surgery

Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret review

Image
I was actually lucky enough to see this movie a week early and with it now releasing worldwide I can finally share my review. Our story begins with an Eleven-year old named Margaret who ups and moves to a new town and city after her father gets a new job. She has to leave behind her friends and even her grandmother with whom she has an almost unbreakable bond with. Her grandmother is played brilliant by Kathy Bates who really ups the comedy in the movie. Now living in New Jersey Margaret has to make new friends, attend a new school and navigate life as her body and even her entire way of living changes.  Based upon a book this is a perfect adaptation. It is beautifully acted, written and directed culminating in an entirely enjoyable movie all about learning to live with who you are regardless of what others might think. It captures pre-adult years near spot on and is elevated to even bigger heights by some remarkable performances. Abby Ryder Fortson is a force to be reckoned with and

Fast X review

The tenth entry into the Fast and Furious franchise has arrived and it is as big, bold and over the top as you'd expect. Vin Diesel is back and he's brought his family along for the ride once again. This movie opens up 10 years in the past as a sinister threat who thought to be long gone is very much alive and back on the trail of Dominic Toretto and his crew in the present day which leads to high octane action and a whole bunch of exploding vehicles which engulf the screen time after time. Said bad guy is Jason Mamoa and as for his performance I don't know how to really feel about it. It's borderline insane as he jumps from being a really serious and menacing big dude to being a flamboyant almost Joker like in another was completely jarring. The funny thing here however is that he is easily the best thing about the movie apart from the action scenes. It's really hard to explain but once you see this movie you'll know what I mean. So just how is the action in

The Flash 9x12 : A New World, Part Three review

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The Flash's second last episode ever has come and gone and with it we got a look at the finale and arguably the best and most sympathetic villain on this show in quite some time. The episode opens up with Eddie who at the end of last weeks episode learned that he is indeed alive and well as his memories continued to haunt him and fill his mind. We pick up with him and the CCPD Captain again where he says he is looking for The Flash. As he prepares to leave a big singularity opens up and sucks the Captain in leaving only Eddie with one thing on his mind. Find The Flash! back at Star Labs and turns out Iris still hasn't given birth, Khione says Barry needs to be here but for now he's actually in the future rather than the past. He is in 2049 and as Speedforce Nora turns up her power is dwindling as the Negative Speedforce is beginning to take control of thi

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. After the last 2 episodes of The Flash and especially last weeks instant classic that went full circle I was expecting this weeks follow up to be at least good. Well shame on me because this episode apart from a couple of things was straight up bad. It begins with Eddie who last we saw got struck by lightning. He walks into the CCPD with almost every cop inside averting their eyes towards him. He walks into the office of the CCPD Captain where he presents the file he had last week which says that he isn't Eddie Thawne infact he is actually someone named Dr Gilmore. His ID even changes to represent this. He's clearly in a state of panic as voices begin to be heard by him and it's not long before he runs out of the office but we do learn something. He wants and needs to learn just how Eddie Thawne died and why. Mainly because it has been struck from any and

Superman & Lois 3x8 : Guess Who's Coming to Dinner review

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode of Superman and Lois is most certainly a tale of two halves. The first half just didn't do anything for me infact it was quite dull and meandering. But the second half truly kicked things into gear and some really big developments went down. The episode begins as Lois is seen continuing her chemo therapy. We're shown the routine of Lois and Clark and the toll it's taken on them both especially Lois as she is seen in bed in complete pain. The following morning Johnathan officially becomes apart of the Smallville Firefighter team. He even gets his own helmet and jacket and like his brother now thinks he is doing the work of a hero. We're soon at the Smallville Gazette and after getting a message from Chrissy about an article Clark decides that Lois needs to have final say on it before publishing. The front page of the article is

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3 review

Image
I loved the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Back in 2014 it felt incredibly fresh and vibrant. Fast forward to it's sequel and I felt like a lot of things that made the original so great were missing. So now with what is supposed to be the final chapter of this iteration of the Guardian's story will it be a grand farewell or a total flop?? Some time has passed since we last saw the Guardians who are now all together staying in a sort of makeshift village / shantytown. All that goes to utter waste when a strange being comes crashing in (literally) looking for Rocket Raccoon. All hell breaks loose leading to Rocket being badly injured with the only thing to save him being to lift a security bypass inside of him so he can be treated properly. Will the Guardians save the day and their friend?? Rocket Raccoon. This story is focused very heavily on him and to be honest it's one of the most emotional super-hero movies you're bound to see whether that be now, the past or

The Flash 9x10 : A New World, Part One review

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The Flash is back for another episode and not only is this the BEST episode this season but for my money it's one of the best episodes period. It starts off in a bit of a mad rush as we see Eddie Thawne return to the show. He is seen getting ready for work at home before arriving at Mercury Labs which is where he seemingly works. It all does tie into the ending of the episode as a new threat is born. The real chunk of this episode is to do with Barry and the Reverse Flash (yes finally!!) as Barry time travels back to the year 2000 seemingly by accident but later we see it's because of a mysterious new force which is extremely powerful. So with Barry in the year 2000 what can he do to get back home and who can he see?? well none other than Joe West who is a cop at CCPD who doesn't know Barry at least not yet in this time period. Barry walks up to him and i

Superman & Lois 3x7 : Forever and Always review

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Another week and another great episode of Superman and Lois. This week's episode begins in a pretty somber way as we see that Lois is getting a lot more sick as she is seen throwing up into the toilet with Clark by her side. The chemo is seemingly taking it's toll on Lois as the following day she and Clark go to the hospital for yet another round of chemo. At the hospital Lois gets talking to the patients again especially the woman next to her who we learn to known as Peia which all ties into something much bigger later. Lois begins to question Peia about Bruno Mannheim which causes Peia to get angry with Lois so much so that she takes her chemo tray and sits on the other side of the room from Lois. This leads to Lois questioning her own intentions even going so far as to call herself a horrible person. We get a lot of info about Bruno Mannheim and his past i
