Supergirl 3x7 : Wake up review
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.
This week's episode begins as a deep sea diving expedition is taking place. As both crew members on board discover a ship it awakes and we're thrown right away to the DEO. Jon's father asks Winn where is the bathroom to which Winn replies with 'You've been here 3 weeks but haven't gone to the bathroom?' a genuinely hilarious moment. Winn encourages Jon to start to talk to his father but his mind is solely placed on this mysterious ship I mentioned earlier. So Kara Jon and Winn go to investigate and what they find isn't what they expected. It's Mon-El and he isn't dead (of course not) and he seems to be perfectly fine or is he?
Skip back to the DEO and as Mon-El is treated to by Jon and Winn Kara questions him but he doesn't want to talk only to rest. Later as Mon-El awakes he attacks some agents and tries to steal some tech before being caught by Kara. He somehow convinces Winn to go with him to the ship and help all those in chambers. One chamber malfunctions so Kara shows up and breaks the chamber releasing the person inside. Later it's revealed this is Imra Ardeen also kown as Saturn Girl and she is MARRIED to Mon-El. It's explained as Mon-El tells everyone that when he went into that worm hole at the end of last season traveled into the future. Into the 31st century. The Legion Of Superhero's are coming to this show it seems as Brainiac-5 has already been cast. This will definitely bring a nice change up to the show which could be both interesting and beneficial.
Samantha (Reign) now keen on learning her true identity returns to the place where she was raised and we meet the woman who took her in as she is the one who found her alone and helpless in a pod much like Kara and Kal's arrival to Earth. Infact Reign's origin is pretty much identical to her fellow Kryptonians. As we learn more of Samantha's upbringing it's said that she was supposed to fully realize her true self and powers when she turned 18 but having her daughter Ruby changed that. Before leaving Samantha takes an artifact from the pod she was in and heads to the middle of some random desert area and a fortress much like Superman's rises from the depths and we're finally introduced to The World Killer.
I really liked this episode, sure it wasn't the best episode this season but it was still really enjoyable. Next week begins the 2 night crossover event between all 4 shows and I can't wait for that.
