Cocaine Bear review

Image
Cocaine Bear might very well be the most absurdly ridiculous movie title of 2023 already and it's only February. With that being said this movie is a lot more true than you might think or at least that is what you are led to think when it comes to sources from Wikipedia. Set in 1985 Cocaine Bear tells the story of a female bear who begins to take Cocaine which was supposed to be travelling to some dodgy people. The person on-board the plane decided to jump off and in doing so he took some Cocaine with him. His plan ended in his death as his parachute fails to open and thousands and thousands of pounds of the drug land in a wooded forest area which just so happens to be where the titular Bear comes across it.  It's a simple setup and it works believe it or not. Cocaine Bear is ridiculously entertaining from beginning to end featuring a whole bunch of grizzly deaths, Cocaine infused bursts of rage and a pretty visceral chase scene involving 2 Paramedics, a Park Ranger and an Am

The Flash 9x3 : Rouges Of War review

Image
Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The Flash is back for another episode of it's final season and boy did we get a lot in this episode from new and returning faces to a big time reveal it all happened in this weeks episode. The episode begins as we see Captain Boomerang and The Fiddler once again stealing some tech. They get interrupted by a cop who really stands no chance against them. And no chance indeed as he is killed in cold blood by a new rouge joining up with Boomer and The Fiddler and it is Murmur. A villain whose mouth is completely sewn shut with her being able to only speak in subtitles / sign language. Like the other two she has a unique weapon tied directly to her which all makes sense later as Chester finds out just where they weapons are coming from. We're soon with Barry and Iris who are at a cooking class in France of all places. They impress their chef with what they made bu

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania review

Image
I've never been the biggest fan of the Ant-Man movies to be honest. The first movie was enjoyable enough and the second did nothing for me really. Ant-Man as a hero is a really cool concept and with this the third installment into the now huge franchise I think it has found it's footing even if it still isn't perfect. Paul Rudd returns as Scott Lang (Ant-Man) and along with everyone else from the previous movies seems to be living their best lives. That all changes when Scott's daughter Cassie now grown up and played by Kathryn Newton builds a device that sends a signal down to the Quantum Realm leading to all of our heroes including original Ant-Man Hank Pym and his wife being sucked all the way down to the Quantum Realm. The movie takes practically no time to get going which was a pleasant surprise. Once inside the Quantum Realm things really amp up as we're ever so slowly introduced to the main villain and the main overarching threat for the MCU as a whole goin

The Whale review

Image
Directed by Darren Arnosfky The Whale stars Brendan Fraser as a morbidly obese online college teacher who is struggling with each passing day to just try and live. Every once in a while a performance comes along that just floors you and this right here is one of those performances. Brendan Fraser is simply breathtaking here. His performance is so good it reduced me to tears on more than one occasion throughout. It is raw, emotional and just utterly heartbreaking. The struggle of his character Charlie too is very sad indeed as he attempts to get to know his estranged daughter more before he passes away due to his increasing blood pressure and apparent heart disease.  The Whale is a truly fascinating movie to watch from beginning to end. It mainly takes place inside of Charlie's apartment over the span of a couple of days. The daily toil and trouble that Charlie goes through from getting in and out of bed, to the eating habits he has are disturbing to watch but you just can't t

Knock At The Cabin review

Image
A married couple, a young child, 4 strangers knocking at a cabin warning of an impending doomsday unless they make an unthinkable sacrifice..what would you do?? that that is the question asked by Writer and Director M. Night Shyamalan in his latest movie. Knock At The Cabin doesn't take any time in getting going as we're introduced to the real highlight of this movie in Dave Bautista's Leonard. At face value he seems to be a deep and caring man but something just feels off about him from the moment he appears on screen until the time the credits begin to roll. It's a commanding performance from the former wrestler. Once the 4 infiltrators are inside of the young couple's cabin the tension is elevated to higher and higher heights as the choice forced upon both men ticks away, nawing away at them.  At it's core Knock At The Cabin is a tense thriller with end of the world ideas, prophecies and meanings. With this impending destruction of the world placed upon the

The Flash 9x2 : Hear No Evil review

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. After what was a highly enjoyable season premiere last week can The Flash continue that form this week as the final season continues. The episode opens up where last weeks ended as we see Barry talking to this new version of Caitlin. As the rest of Team Flash arrive in the room this 3rd version of Caitlin informs them that she has no idea who or what she is. Infact it's double bad news as Chillblaine soon is here too and informs everyone that both Caitlin and Frost are dead. Yup just like that a pretty big bombshell is just dropped on everyone. Chillblaine is here to try and restore either Frost, Caitlin or even both if possible. He doesn't have everyone's blessing much to his annoyance but it's not long before the restoration process gets underway and as you'd expect it's not successful at all. It does lead to Chester figuring out just what h

The Flash 9x1 : Wednesday Ever After review

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The final season of The Flash is here and while this review is a little late due to me being extremely under the weather I did manage to finally take in the season 9 premiere and found myself enjoying it from beginning to end in what was I think a pretty much flawless episode. The episode begins with the threat of a familiar villain in that of Tar-Pit. He is easily dispatched by Team Flash but as they look set to celebrate everyone begins to pass out infront of The Flash including Iris. This is when Barry wakes up in a total panic and we see that he was having a nightmare. The following morning is soon upon Barry and Iris and all seems well considering what transpired for Barry over the the course of the night. He seems happy as he goes to work and Iris too gets ready. Barry tells her one final thing before leaving and that is just say yes. To what?? well Iris soon f
