  From legendary Director Martin Scorsese comes Killers of the Flower Moon. A movie based on an extraordinary true story. In the 1920's members of a Native American tribe named the Osage strike oil on their land in Oklahoma. Vicious and grisly murders of the tribe soon follow leading to the FBI to come and investigate just what is exactly happening. Leonardo Dicaprio and Robert De Niro lead a stellar cast as Killers of the Flower Moon is some of the finest cinema you're going to see this year.  Beautifully shot and very faithful to the time period it is set in it tells a overflowing tragic tale of greed, loss and one's loves for family and power. Performance wise this is as good as it gets really with De Niro and Dicaprio on top form as always but it is Lily Gladstone who plays Mollie who is outstanding here from beginning to end. The journey her character goes on is quite something and really heartbreaking Killers of the Flower Moon is a long movie. It is over 200 minutes

  I love a good slasher movie. Besides comic book movie adaptations it's probably my favorite genre of the medium. So with that being said when I first heard about this movie I was genuinely excited. A slasher movie, time travel and Kiernan Shipka?? I was sold and up until I hit the play button on Amazon Prime I was in, by the time the credits rolled I was left incredibly disappointed however. Not only is Totally Killer totally boring but it's full of cringe worthy dialogue not very likable characters and a final twist that can be spotted within the opening few minutes.  The story is your basic serial killer going around committing murders but this killer only targets young girls on their sixteen birthdays hence it is called the Sweet Sixteen Killer. It is set in modern day which is 35 years after the original sweet sixteen murders took place.   The original Exorcist movie is a horror classic no doubt about it. It was groundbreaking for it's time back in 1973 so now exactly 50 years on can this new version live up to it's name and prove a worthy successor?? the answer is simply no. The Exorcist Believers story revolves the demonic possession of two young school girls who go missing for three days after leaving school to go into the woods one day. They're found in a farmer's property 3 days later with no memory of what happened or how they even got there. Various tests and psychiatric developments take place but it's not long before things take a more sinister turn.  I really wanted to like this new interpretation of The Exorcist but as a whole it is just so half baked, so under cooked and quite frankly just plain boring. There is very little stakes which isn't helped by poor characters and development. There's even one characters accent which changes multiple times throughout. It's so off putt

  Once, Begin Again, Sing Street, if you're a fan of John Carney then you know exactly what those movies mean. Flora and Son is his latest movie and it fits right among some of his best work. The story follows a young single mom called Florence who lives with her 15 year old son Max. Being a co-parent to him with his father she struggles with daily life but all of that changes when she begins to understand music, play guitar and witness her son's influenced by music. Eve Hewson stars as Florence and genuinely it's a star making performance from her. The relationship between her and her son starts off very rocky to say the least with most of the time they spend being over dinner in a small apartment in a block flooded by other people very much in the same boat. Dublin leads to a beautiful backdrop shots though that's for sure not to mention the Irish flare of jokes and funny moments which really do get a kick out of you.   Are you ready to play a game?? SAW returns for a tenth installment into the stomach churning franchise and for what it's worth this may be the best sequel of them all. Jigsaw is back and much like previous entries expect blood and gore a plenty. Our story this time around actually takes place between SAW 2 & 3 and follows the infamous John Kramer who having been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer seems to be given the chance of a lifetime when a fellow patient of his cancer group tells him all about a group of doctors who cured him of his cancer which too was terminal. So John sets off to find this mysterious group in the hope of killing his cancer before it kills him. What follows is some of the finest storytelling in the entire SAW franchise. It's interwoven really well throughout with hints of what's to come and what has already happened.  Tobin Bell returns as John Kramer in what is easily his best performance as the character.
