Supergirl 3x20 : Dark Side Of The Moon review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it This week's episode of Supergirl begins above the stars as Mon-El and Kara are continuing their quest to retrieve the black rock that is key to reversing Reign and ultimately restoring Sam to her normal self. They run into a tractor beam but manage to get around it and land at a mysterious city that is inhabited by humans or at least it looks that way. They disguise themselves to try and fit in before stumbling upon some Kryptonian writing on a panel but just as they are about to get the black rock a bunch of defense robots rush in before being called off by none other than Kara's mom. Kara overcome with emotion runs to her mom's arms as they both can't believe that they are seeing one another again. Turns out this isn't a mysterious city at all. In fact it's Argo City a part of Krypton that is protected by a shield that Kara's father had made before h

The Flash 4x23 : We Are The Flash review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it This show did it. They finally did it. They delivered the best episode this season and it just so happens to be the finale. Coincidence? I think not as this finale is the most fun I've personally had all season long with this show. With that being said let's get into the episode.  It begins at Jitters where we see Captain Singh who is ringing Barry leaving him a voicemail that after reading through Iris's reports and articles online about Devoe the mayor of Central City has decided to give him his job back at the CCPD. This is short lived however as power in the entire city goes out leaving nothing but a purple sky and all we see is chaos below as Devoe stands high atop a building looking down at what he has caused. At Star Labs and Cecil begins to have seriously strong contractions, and with the power being out her and Joe can't make it to the hospital as all car

Supergirl 3x19 : The Fanatical review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it This week's episode of Supergirl begins as we see Lena continuing her research on Reign after everyone helped in capturing her last week. Turns out Lena has developed yet another device that can be used against Kryptonians. As Supergirl attempts to use her X-Ray vision to see Reign it seriously hurts her eyes and she has to stop. Speaking of Supergirl her and Lena continue to bicker throughout the episode which leads to Kara feeling bad about not being able to not only trust Lena but that she can't tell her that she actually is Supergirl. She and James speak about the situation at Cat Co before a girl walks into the main office with a book in her hands. Turns out this book belongs to Coville (the fanatical cult leader from way back at the beginning of the season) it's a book of all his ramblings about Reign Supergirl and other Krypton related things. But the thing tha

Arrow 6x23 : Life Sentence review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it Arrow's sixth season comes to a close with a heart pounding thrill ride of an episode. We're thrown right into the action from the get-go as the Green Arrow and his team now with the FBI infiltrate the SCPD building looking for Diaz. They get control of the building but Diaz is nowhere to be seen. Outside Anatoli talks to Oliver over the phone before Diaz gets in the back seat and tells him to meet him at a specified location in an hour's time. He also name drops The Longbow Hunters (season 7's big bad perhaps?) before leaving Anatoli who actually goes and turns himself into the SCPD. At the Mayor's office Quentin gets a call from Diaz who threatens to kill Laurel if he doesn't do a press conference and tell the FBI to leave the city as they are getting too close to Diaz and his operation. He disagrees as we see Laurel held captive who now has a strong con

Gotham 4x22 : No Man's Land review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it The Gotham season finale has come and gone and with it some very interesting plot developments along with a look at some future villains and the continuing journey of Bruce Wayne to Batman. It all begins at Gotham general hospital as Selina is rushed to surgery after being shot by Jeremiah at the end of last week's episode. She pleads with Bruce to stay by her side and he agrees. At the GCPD we see Jeremiah sitting in a jail cell (much like Heath Ledger's Joker in the Dark Knight) and he tells Gordon that if he doesn't bring him Bruce he will never tell of the other bombs that he has throughout the city. Gordon thinks he is bluffing and threatens him. Is Jeremiah bluffing though? well more on that a bit later as right after this a major in the Gotham City army and his team walk into the GCPD declaring Gotham City under martial law. Gordon and him clash from the get go

Deadpool 2 review

Image
The merc with the mouth is back with his very own sequel that builds on the previous movie while at the same time never forgetting what made the first one so great. The story this time around follows Deadpool as he brings together a team of fellow mutant rogues to protect a young boy of supernatural abilities from the brutal time travelling mutant / mercenary Cable. That's the pretty much the story in a nutshell but we aren't here for the story are we? Deadpool 2 is a whole lot more adventurous than the first one and right of the bat it shows as the opening is equal parts hilarious and emotional. Complete with a James Bond style intro it really sets the tone for the rest of the movie brilliantly. What made the first Deadpool movie so great was Ryan Reynolds and he is as brilliant as he was back then but here he is bolstered by some really fun performances which help to make this sequel feel more complete and rounded than it's predecessor. You got Josh Brolin who is bot

The Flash 4x22 : Think Fast review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it The penultimate episode of The Flash season 4 and while not a brilliant episode by any means it is definitely better than last weeks and sets up the finale pretty well.  It begins with a familiar face as we see John Diggle at a secret ARGUS black ops site but right away it's given away that it's just Devoe in disguise as Dig's whole voice and demeanor changes as he makes his way in towards the entrance of the building he is greeted by guards. Now back in his proper Devoe form he uses all his meta powers to take out the guards all while classical music plays in the background. This was a really fun intro to the episode and set it up really well in my opinion. Back at Star Labs and we see Harry who further begins to completely lose his memory. Now a bumbling idiot in a sense he knocks over chairs and has trouble even remembering simple stuff. This is when Barry runs int

Supergirl 3x18 : Shelter From The Storm review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it This week's episode of Supergirl begins as we see James and Lena who having spent the night together talk a bit before being interrupted by Reign who breaks in through the window looking Ruby. Lena manages to subdue her before telling her that she'll never find Ruby before Reign ultimately fly's always leaving both James and Lena a little bit shook. Back at the DEO members of The Legion prepare to return to their original time period after dealing with Pestilence in last week's episode. Mon-El doesn't seem so sure of going and Imra can tell as him and Kara say their goodbye's Imra is watching them and you can tell she knows of his feelings for Kara still. Brainiac-5 finally reverts to his original form and gives Winn a going away present. A jar of earth dirt from the 31st century. This is no ordinary dirt as it's later revealed Brainiac-5 used it as a

The Strangers : Prey At Night review

Image
Based on true events The Strangers : Prey At Night is the sequel to 'The Strangers' that came out a good few years back. It follows a family of 4 whose's road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park, there to stay with relatives they are shocked to find out that it's abandoned with next to nobody present only a letter from their relative and the keys to one of the mobile homes. Set mainly in darkness things take a sinister turn as three masked strangers turn up and begin to terrorize the family members having previously killed the relatives who were staying in another mobile home. That's the jist of the story and while it's not terrible it definitely isn't all good either. The acting is as you'd expect from a movie like this. Nothing outstanding but at the same time it is very tolerable for a movie of this type. Complete with jump scares a plenty and some pretty horrific scenes at times the second half of the movi

Arrow 6x22 : The Ties That Bind review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it This week's episode of Arrow begins at Oliver and Felicity's place as we see Oliver making breakfast for dinner which was quite odd but nevertheless Felicity seems worried about Oliver's behavior as he doesn't seem at all worried about what happened just a week ago as he seemed sure to be getting prison time. Oliver assures her he is fine and as they all sit down to eat he gets a message from Anatoli. Diaz and his men are on the way to kill him Felicity William and basically every other member of Team Arrow. This is done in a montage as all members face Diaz's men and fight to overcome the entire ordeal. Oliver manages to subdue the men, Dig and Lyla fight their way out of a hospital Curtis and his boyfriend (who gets injured) get away Dinah faces off against 3 guys and Rene and his daughter almost get killed but manage to make their escape to the 2nd bunker t

Gotham 4x21 : One Bad Day review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it Another week and yet another amazing episode of Gotham. Heavily inspired by The Killing Joke comic this really is the show at it's finest.  It begins with a news broadcast of Jim Gordon who after last week's incident involving one of Jeremiah's bombs is presumed dead. We see Bullock watching this at the GCPD and refuses to believe that his friend is actually dead and tells everyone that any minute now Jim will walk in through the GCPD front doors. Speaking of the front doors of the GCPD a certain Jeremiah Valeska is on the outside complete with his followers who he says he has transformed them to be loyal to him as he accomplished something that Jerome could not. He killed Jim Gordon. He tells Bullock of his plan and his demands. He wants the city evacuated within 6 hours or he'll blow it to pieces creating a new Gotham in his image in the process. He shows Bulloc

Tully review

Image
With Tully we're given a pretty simple premise of women marries a guy has 3 kids struggles to keep up with everyday life and everything else in between that you'd associate with motherhood but once you delve into this movie deeper there's a whole lot more to the premise then just meets the eye. The story revolves around a woman named Marlo (Charlize Theron) as she struggles with the day to day life activities of looking after her family while not showing much self care for herself. As I said the premise is nothing really original but Tully is lifted to new heights by really impressive performances. Charlize Theron is just brilliant as Marlo. It's an entirely different side you'll see of her both in a physical way and definitely in an emotional way. Having put on weight for the role she has completely transformed herself to the point where you sometimes forget you're even watching Charlize Theron which was another plus for me. The rest of the cast do a stand

The Flash 4x21 : Harry And The Harrisons review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it After last week's entirely interesting episode this show slows the pace to a grinding halt once again. And with it being so close to finale I don't understand why they did it. This episode feels completely out of place in the episode order. There's no follow up to Devoe and his wife's apparent break-up and nothing really interesting comes out of it. That being said let's get into it. It begins as we see Barry in bed asleep before he's awoken suddenly by a noise coming from downstairs. He checks for Iris but she isn't next to him. She's downstairs looking up research on Devoe and planning on writing an article to expose him. Barry seems thrown by this and later confronts her about not writing the article as it will expose what they are doing in Star Labs. He later comes around and tells her to go ahead and publish the article to which she does. Spea

Supergirl 3x17 : Trinity review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it This week's episode of Supergirl begins at the DEO as we see pretty much all members of the group questioning Lena Luthor about the whole Sam / Reign situation. Kara especially looks very upset with her given how much trust she put in Lena and how she thought they were friends. It's very much like a betrayal to Kara and it shows in her eyes as Lena still gets questioned she reveals that she managed to subdue Reign with Kryptonite from a vault that Lex Luthor had which she ended up getting once the company was bought out by her. This further pushes Kara over the edge even to the point where she questions the foundation on which their relationship was built on. Speaking of Sam / Reign everyone pretty much knows the connection between the two now even James who Lena ends up calling as she feels boxed in by what is happening around her. More on this whole situation later.

Arrow 6x21 : Docket No. 11-19-41-73 review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it I've always been a sucker for good old fashioned courtroom battle whether it be in movies or any other form of media and with this episode of Arrow I got everything and more that gets associated with a courtroom battle.  It begins as we see Dig raiding a remote island of some sorts. His target? well it's none other than the Human Target himself a returning character from season 5. We don't learn of Dig's plan right away but more on it later. At the courtroom we see that pretty much everybody is present just in time for 'The People VS Oliver Jonas Queen' to begin..a bunch of witnesses get called to provide evidence against the man who is presumed to be the Green Arrow and you can see right away that it all seems to be going against Oliver. Diaz has practically got everyone against Oliver including the judge and a new lawyer who Diaz hired to take the case a

Gotham 4x20 : That Old Corpse review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it I'm going to start this week's review of Gotham off by saying that this episode is an absolute doozy! it begins at a graveyard where we see a bunch of Jerome's followers celebrating his life before a mysterious girl pulls up on a motorcycle. It's later revealed that this is in fact Echo the same girl who we saw with Jeremiah Valeska in a previous episode. She's wearing a mask and a jester like helmet/hat and it's all a nod to Harley Quinn I'm sure of it. She ends up playing a recording of Jerome's last wishes over a microphone. What's his last wishes? well back at the GCPD as Gordon wonders what to do with Lee Thompkins Lucius arrives with a tape for Jim. He plays it and it's ''The last will and testament of Jerome Valeska'' he tells him of his last wishes and it involves all his followers having a wake for him inside the GC
