Charlie's Angels review

Image
Written and directed by an also starring Elizabeth Banks Charlie's Angels is a reboot of the original series that also saw a reboot in the early 90's / early 00's. This time starring, Elizabeth Banks, Kirsten Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Ballinska Charlie's Angels pretty much follows the same story as told before just with a newer more shiner coat of paint. First off performance wise Charlie's Angels is actually pretty good. Stewart is great here with sarcastic remarks a plenty and does really bring the ass kicking when necessary. Naomi Scott who is the spy in training is fine too although she does come across as rather flat and bland a lot of the time. Ella Ballinska on the other hand is far from bland and flat she is extremely tough, witty and to be honest downright gorgeous. If she isn't in a Mission Impossible movie at some point in the future I will be surprised. She really brings so much to Charlie's Angels and without her well this just wouldn

Knives Out review

Image
I've always loved a good murder mystery. A proper who done it. And with Knives Out that is exactly what is on offer here. Written and Directed by Rian Johnson who has assembled a pretty incredible cast here Knives Out is a almost perfect tribute to murder mystery classics from Agatha Christie. Starring Daniel Craig, Ana De Armas, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Michael Shannon and more Knives Out tells the story of a well inclined family whose father was found dead after a very recent birthday party, Christoper Plumber plays the head of the family Thrombey who is the head of a giant book of stories corporation. His demise comes at the hands of apparent suicide which leads to 2 cops and a detective being led onto the case. With clues pointing at every single family member being somewhat involved Knives Out chugs along perfectly as fingers are pointed left right and center.  Performance wise Knives Out is absolutely stellar. Daniel Craig plays a detective named Ben

Arrow 8x6 : Reset review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  Arrow's final season rolls on with a time looping episode that pits Oliver and Laurel against a seemingly never ending timeloop. Beginning in Oliver's apartment he wakes up after the ending of last week's episode that saw him Dig and Laurel get hit with tranquilizers. Oliver awakens in his apartment. Mia, William and Connor soon walk in and tell him that he is late for some sort of function and that he will be giving some sort of speech. Immediately Oliver knows something isn't right and his thoughts are reassured when he does indeed arrive at the party. Diggle and Lyla are there and Lyla who stands by her proclamation of saying that she is a double agent assures Oliver that everything is as it should be. Rene shows up and brings Oliver to see the mayor who turns out to be none other than Quentin Lance. Stunned by this Oliver hides his real feelings as Quentin

The Flash 6x7 : The Last Temptation Of Barry Allen, Pt 1 review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  This season's mid season finale of The Flash is a two parter and it begins with this episode. Beginning where last week's ended with Ramsey and Ralph falling from a building. A fight breaks out between the two. Ramsey infects Ralph with his blood but Ralph seems unaffected at first. He even manages to get the upper hand on Ramsey for a moment but when he takes the blood cells back out of Ralph our hero collapses onto the ground leaving Ramsey to escape. Killer Frost arrives seconds later and takes Ralph back to Star Labs where it looks like he won't even make it as his body contorts and goes into shock. Cisco urges Frost to help but she reverts back to Caitlin who suggest to Barry that his speed healing can help save Ralph. Barry agrees and fazes some of his blood via injection which does help Ralph. Everything seems completely fine for both Barry and Ralph who is

Frozen II review

Image
Back in 2013 the original Frozen movie arrived and literally took the world by storm. You couldn't not hear ''Let It Go'' for months on end and overall it was an amazing piece of cinema. With it's sequel finally arriving 6 years later can it live up to it's older siblings giant shadow? All of our favorite characters are back in Frozen II and some are better than ever. The movie begins with a young Anna and Elsa being told the story of a long forgotten tribe who lived in a giant forest area by their father. His father who was the King of Arendelle worked in unison with the tribe but something eventually ends up happening which causes the four spirits of the world to close off the forest and surround it in a giant mist trapping everyone inside of it. So it's up to Elsa and her friends to find out just what happened and how they can reverse it. This is actually a really great story that not only expands on the first movie but broadens this universe even

Arrow 8x5 : Prochnost review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  Arrow's final season returns from it's little hiatus where we see Oliver training Mia in the bunker. He has her shooting tennis balls like he used to and even introduces her to all of the different arrows that are used for different scenarios. At the end of the last episode Oliver learned that with some plutonium he could use it to create a weapon strong enough to defeat The Monitor. Also at the end of the last episode The Monitor tasked Laurel with betraying Oliver and in return he'll restore Earth-2. Laurel meets up with Lyla who she finds out is working with the cosmic god. Lyla tells Laurel that she must get the plans for a general in Russia who is building the actual weapon that Oliver intends on getting also. Laurel agrees and along with William, Mia and Oliver set off for Russia. Back in Star City Dig recruits a familiar face in the search for plutonium whi

The Flash 6x6 : License to Elongate review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  The Flash returns from it's mini hiatus with an interesting episode to say the least. It begins with everyone in the sewers along with Nash Wells who last we saw said he knows how to save Barry Allen in the impending Crisis. He tells how The Monitor is a 'false god' and that he will be the one to end him. As for how to get past the bricked up wall?? he needs the power of UV waves that can reveal what is behind the bricks that are infused with a special type of energy. His reasoning for how he's going to save Barry pretty much goes unnoticed apart from him stopping The Monitor before the Crisis happens. At CCPD Barry and Joe are talking about Ralph and how Barry wants him to become one of Central City's biggest hero's when The Flash is gone. He's even gotten a new symbol for Ralph that has a EM on it for Elongated Man. Ralph pretty soon enters the s

Supergirl 5x7 : Tremors review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  The seventh episode of Supergirl's fifth season begins with Kara and J'onn sparring. The two speak about the ongoing problems in and around the city as they continue fighting one another. Across town we see Lena being interrupted by the same woman from last week who works for Leviathan or at least has some stake in them. She wants the medallion from Lena but Lena isn't so easy to get it off. In fact she downright refuses and tells her that she isn't scared of Leviathan. Back at the DEO and with Brainy still working on a way to locate Riproar we learn that Lex knew about the Fortress Of Solitude and that he never did find it much to his dismay. The other Luthor, Lena's plan to use Supergirl is still in motion and at a park showcase she uses Supergirl as a way to bait Leviathan into action. A man turns up who has the ability to control earth and bend it to h

Batwoman 1x7 : Tell Me the Truth review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  Episode seven of Batwoman begins with Kate once again voicing over the scene. She wonders how Bruce done it all when he was Batman. Inside a restaurant everything looks normal that is until we're shown somebody looking down the barrel of a gun. Just as the would be assassin is about to pull the trigger he gets pulled away by Batwoman who then runs off as The Crows begin to surround the area. In the alleyway Batwoman bumps into Sophie again who once again says that she knows Kate is the one under the cowl. She even threatens to reveal all to Jacob Kane as she fears that Kate will only end up getting herself killed. Batwoman says that she will contact her later before disappearing. Back at the Crows HQ and Sophie's husband's mood about the entire situation shifts and changes as when Sophie does get the call to meet Batwoman she agrees to reveal all to him when she r

Last Christmas review

Image
On paper Last Christmas seems like your typical romance type movie where the two leads meet, fall madly in love and live happily ever after. Well you'd be right in thinking that as this does have a lot of the before mentioned ideas and remnants but there is a much more to it once you dig deeper. Starring Emilia Clarke and Henry Goulding. Last Christmas tells the story of Kate (Clark) who is a young woman who has made plenty of bad decisions in life. When she was younger she was the big prospect in her family but after falling ill that was all put to the side. When we first meet her she is working in a Christmas themed shop selling all kinds of merchandise from nutcrackers to baubles all while being forced to dress as an Elf by her managed whose name is Santa. One night when rushing for an audition on the West End Kate who was supposed to lock up leaves the main door unlocked causing a break-in. It is soon after this we're introduced to Goulding's Tom Webster an almost to

Supergirl 5x6 : Confidence Women review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  Y'know every once in a while an episode of Supergirl comes around that makes me re-think everything I thought I knew about this show. Not only is this an amazing episode of Supergirl but it's one of the best episodes this season of any DC show. Beginning at the DEO and after apprehending Riproar at the end of last week's episode Supergirl and Alex continue to grill him about what he truly is and who he is working for. While talking to William they get a breach warning and finally after a few weeks the mysterious shadow figure who killed the assassin with spider powers shows up and tries to take Riproar. Supergirl and Alex fight her off but that's not the big issue here. The big issue here is that this shadowy figure is none other than Andrea Rojas. I mean talk about an action packed way to open an episode and get people hooked right away. The next time we see

Batwoman 1x6 : I'll be Judge, I'll be Jury review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  After last week's season best episode can Batwoman continue that momentum as Crisis On Infinite Earths looms ever so closely in the background?? the episode begins with the introduction of the villain of the week and it is none other than The Executioner. A pretty bog standard character who by his name suggests executes his victims in Corporal Punishment ways. The episode starts with his first victim. The assistant to the District Attorney. He kills him by electrocution via electricity and water mixed together. Back at the bat-cave Luke has found the name of the man who we saw last week was holding Beth for many years. His name is August Cartwright. We also learn that Batwoman is now on the GCPD's speed dial which was funny but still not on her dad's or the Crow's. Skip to Alice and we see her adjusting Mouse's new face. He takes on the disguise of someone

Arrow 8x4 : Past Tense review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  Episode 4 of Arrow's 8th and final season and this season shows no sign of slowing down. Beginning where last week's ended with William, Mia and Connor being brought to the past they all interact with their parents. William hugs it out with Oliver but Mia on the other hand seems a lot less reluctant to greet her father. Connor tells Diggle that he adopted him but it looks like that hasn't happened yet which it hasn't. I can only assume Bronze Tiger will sacrifice himself during Crisis thus putting young Connor in Diggle's care. William asks what year it is and Oliver says 2019. They say it's supposed to be 2040 and things just got a whole lot more interesting. Never though I'd see time travel be introduced in Arrow but here we are. William, Connor and Mia meet to discuss what they do say and what they do not. After Zoey's death last week and

The Flash 6x5 : Kiss Kiss Breach Breach review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  Another week and you guessed it another great episode of The Flash. Beginning in an odd way as we see Cisco talking to himself in his work shop. Guards rush in and say that he is under arrest. 12 hours previous flashes on the screen as we see Barry & Iris about to take a vacation. This means Cisco is in charge and he has made just the right piece of tech for the occasion. He names it B.A.R.I. which is basically a Barry Allen AI which tells him what to do whenever faced with a problem. It's overly silly to be honest and is mainly used for some cheap jokes. With Barry & Iris away Cisco gets to spend some alone time with his girlfriend Camilla. But of course this doesn't end up happening that well as when in their room at night Cisco picks up a pair of scissors but stops immediately in his tracks dropping them. Camilla then mentions how the night previous Cisco w

Supergirl 5x5 : Dangerous Liaisons review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  This week's episode of Supergirl begins with the announcement that Obsidian North's VR lenses are set to be worldwide. Andrea Rojas announces this from a dream scape like make believe world where everything seems perfect. On the outside and at Cat.Co Andrea demands that all employees focus on the launch right up until the day. Kara who hasn't told anyone apart from Alex about William being undercover and trying to expose Andrea Rojas plays along with Nia who seems disappointed about not being able to get anything on William. Kara says that not everyone is who they say they are even if William is still a giant jerk. Speaking of William Kara texts him and asks to meet. They two meet and Kara asserts herself by saying that she wants to be involved in the search for justice. William ends up agreeing after Kara brings him to the DEO. Speaking of the DEO inside Alex is
