American Made review

Image
American Made starring Hollywood megastar Tom Cruise. This is based on the true story of Barry Seal a pilot who gets entangled with the CIA, The White House and Pablo Escobar. Cruise plays Barry Seal to absolute perfection and delivers what I think is his best performance in a long time. This was very much needed after the very lackluster movie that was The Mummy earlier this year. Seal gets entangled with both the Colombian Cartel and the CIA at the exact same time and goes from smuggling drugs to guns to even money. This is a beautifully shot movie with some real close up shots that really add to the feel of the surrounding areas. The movie takes us from Baton Rouge to Colombia to everywhere else in between. The supporting cast are all really good here also but it's obviously Cruise who carries the movie and he does it with such style at times that you forget you're watching a movie it feels like a true life story. This a movie you should definitely be checking out on

The Hitman's Bodyguard review

Image
The Hitman's Bodyguard starring Ryan Reynolds Samuel L. Jackson and Gary Oldman. I honestly did not know what to expect going to see this. I saw the trailer and dismissed it completely but after seeing it I can honestly say it's a good yet at times bad watch. Don't get me wrong it is a good watch to pass the time but that's all really. You'll be leaving the cinema not remembering this in a week. The leads do work well together but there is only so many times you can hear the word motherf**ker without it becoming tiresome. Music scenes with Salma Hayek involved are also so cheesy that it's almost cringeworthy at times. Although Hayek really does play her part well. She's sexy funny and damn sure fiery. The action scenes do play out well especially the entire chase scene in Amsterdam but other than that this just a generic and somewhat predictable comedy that while funny at points falls completely flat on it's face at others. This would be perfect f

Atomic Blonde review.

Image
Atomic Blonde starring Charlize Theron and James McAvoy. Set in Berlin Germany during the period of the wall breakdown. Atomic Blonde is an action /thriller masterpiece. Theron is absolutely brilliant in her role and oozes sex appeal every single time she's on screen and sometimes even going as far as to go fully naked. McAvoy puts in one of his best performances in a while in my opinion and proves a stark contrast to Theron's lead. This is nonstop balls to the wall action. It's nonstop go go go and it's absolutely riveting. One scene in perticular set in the stairwell of an apartment is just amazing as it's all done in 1 single shot. It's tense atmospheric and down right brutal at times. This movie is definitely not for the younger audience as it is a lot more violent that I imagined. Special shout out to Sofia Boutella who is quickly becoming one of my favorite actresses working today. That scene she shares with Charlize Theron is passionate raw and just
