Arrow 7x17 : Inheritance review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Finally after weeks of waiting we are treated to an Emiko origin episode. Starting with a young Emiko who we see walking down a hallway to her apartment home. We hear a familiar voice arguing with a woman. It's Robert Queen who tells young Emiko that she and her mother will have to go someplace else. Upset by this Emiko asks why but doesn't really get a right response. Instead is told that life isn't fair and that she should do as told. Back in present day we're treated to some brother/sister training time as Oliver and Emiko duke it out together at her hideout. They both seem to get the upper hand on one another which was good. On the way out of the building however Emiko notices something, or someone following her in a dark hoodie. She runs away at first but then fires off an arrow in the direction the person was hitting them in the shoulder. Turns out it'

Supergirl 4x16 : The House Of L review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. First off I'm just going to say this. This week's episode of Supergirl is the greatest episode this season hands down. Not only does it bring back Lex Luthor from last week but we finally get the origin of the second Supergirl that landed in Kaznia at the end of season 3. Beginning where it left of last week we see Lex jump out of his helicopter. He's free falling for a moment before he is greeted by an exo-suit which takes over his body granting him the ability of flight. Supergirl isn't far behind however and punches him from behind sending him crashing into the giant Daily Planet sign. Atop the building the two fight as Supergirl learns that Lex after taking the cure from last week's episode has developed powers. He tells her that he is Lex Luthor, never assume he can't do anything before picking up the giant Daily Planet globe and smashing it toward

Gotham 5x10 : I Am Bane review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The third last episode of Gotham arrives and it begins with the creation of Bane. Eduardo who we last saw with a giant spike driven through his chest by Gordon in a fight is this show's version of the character. And while it differs from the comics and movies it does stay pretty faithful to the source material. Hugo Strange and Walker are present as the transformation from Eduardo to Bane begins. We hear Walker say Bane over and over again as Eduardo drifts off before being brought back by a substance entering his blood stream. They don't say what it's called but let's just assume it's Venom. Bane's eyes turn red and his breathing gets heavy as one of Batman's greatest ever foes is created. Back at the GCPD Harvey walks into Gordon's office and tells him that the military and their general are on route to Gotham and will assess the situation bef

The Flash 5x17 : Time Bomb review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Another week and another Cicada heavy episode of The Flash. That's not to say it's bad by any means as much like last week I really enjoyed this episode. Beginning in 2049 we see Eobard Thawne standing in his cell once again. Nora zips into the scene frantically and tells Thawne about the Cicada that showed up at the end of last week's episode. She says that once they gave Orlin the meta human cure which they did that everything would end and the madness would stop. Thawne says the same thing. And without hesitation tells Nora that he can't help her any longer. Nora stunned by this is even more surprised by what he says next. Thawne says that she should tell her father all about what has been happening and how / why she traveled to the past in the first place. Well Nora's secret might not be safe for much longer as Sherloque is still looking into her journa

Arrow 7x16 : Star City 2040 review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This week's episode of Arrow features very little of one Oliver Queen. Now you could say that's impossible but for this episode it really works. Instead we're finally given the sort or origin and growing up life of Mia Smoak. Beginning with her birth we see Oliver for the one and only time he's in the episode and Felicity in a secluded house. Felicity gives birth to their daughter and throughout the next few minutes we're shown Mia growing up in a montage of sorts. Beginning with her training. She gets trained by Nyssa Al Ghul of all people. As she gets older her skills improve and her will to fight gets stronger. Felicity is observing all of this from a distance. No mention of Oliver or where he's at during all of this which is weird. You think he'd be the one to train Mia, especially as she trains with a bow but nope. Years later and now much olde

Supergirl 4x15 : O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Lex Luthor. Superman's greatest enemy and possibly one of the greatest DC comic villains in history finally arrives on Supergirl. Played by Jon Cryer who in my opinion completely nails the character. I had my doubts when I heard the casting choice but after seeing him in action I am thoroughly impressed. The episode begins 4 years in the past in Metropolis. Where we see none other than Lex standing over a completely terrified Lena who is sitting in a chair. He mentions things like how Superman is a false god and how he is the man of tomorrow not him. Lena says he's a better man than Lex will ever be and re responds with he's not even a man. Not 5 minutes into this episode and I was already hooked. On the outside we can notice a red light beaming into the room where Luthor siblings are talking. Well it's this way because Lex has somehow created a Red Sun that as

The Flash 5x16 : Failure is an Orphan review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Finally after weeks & weeks of trying The Flash delivers a really interesting and well thought out Cicada centered episode. And not only is it a great Cicada episode but it's one of the best episodes this season in my opinion. Beginning in 2049 we see Nora and Eobard Thawne talking. He brings up a photo in his cell of The Flash's final meeting with Cicada that is fast approaching. He says Nora has done well and soon they will have defeated Cicada. He has something else to say though as he says the timeline is changing or someone is trying to change it. He says something..or someone is trying to break through the timeline and is coming. Godspeed perhaps?? or The Red Death?? either way it's gonna be crazy if time bending and timeline manipulation is involved. Back at Star Labs we see Iris and Barry in the hallway. Iris on the phone walks into the main room with Bar

Arrow 7x15 : Training Day review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Arrow returns for another week and after last week's rather brilliant episode this is also a very enjoyable ride. Beginning at SCPD we see one of the cops giving a pep talk to all new recruits. Of course as we known these recruits include all members of Team Arrow with Dinah as the Captain. So we see various things like training and stuff. The crew are tasked with their first mission / assignment after learning of a new type of substance in bullet form is found to have killed 4 gang members. The culprits? well it's another gang named the Blackout gang who are being supplied these new bullets by a medical company named Midas Medical. The head of the company is James Midas and throughout the episode he constantly evades capture. Even once managing to worm his way around the Mayor. The team's first mission doesn't go so well so it all adds to the tension and feeling

Supergirl 4x14 : Stand and Deliver review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Continuing on from last week's best of season episode this week's edition of Supergirl is a really good follow up. Beginning with The Elite whom we see coming out of a diner the three talk and agree on a plan of sorts. Eventually each going in different directions. Menagerie spots a woman wearing a pearl necklace and follows her to a car park. In the car park we see Menagerie but no sign of the woman. we do however John, Kara and Dreamer who stand up to the villain and ask her where the rest of The Elite are. She doesn't answer their questions and is take back to John's PI office where she annoys Nia with talk of fashion nonstop. Speaking of Nia funnily enough she spends the majority of the episode in her Dreamer costume which was funny. Back at Cat.Co we see that James is continuing his deep delve in L Corp's black budget. He even calls Eve (Lena's ass

Captain Marvel review

Image
After just over a decade since it's inception with Iron Man in 2008 the MCU finally brings us it's first female led movie. So does Captain Marvel live up to the hype?? Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers. A woman capable of extraordinary abilities. She is from a planet far away and does pretty much the same thing every day. She wakes up, trains, goes to see the Supreme Intelligence which is a super powerful being not able to be seen by just anyone. After a mission goes wrong however her life is thrown literally upside down as she awakes hung up by her ankles being worked over by a group of Skrulls. Alien creatures that can inhabit any person they see. After a chaotic break out she escapes and after trying to leave the creatures spaceship in an escape pod crashes and ends up on Earth. It's here we're introduced to a young Nick Fury (without his eye patch) once again played by Samuel L. Jackson. Agent Coulson also makes a return. After Carol crashes into a BlockBuster

Gotham 5x9 : The Trial Of Jim Gordon review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. After last week's complete muddled of an episode Gotham returns this week with a really strong and at times impactful episode. Beginning at the GCPD we see Jim and Lee come out of his office. She mentions how reckless he is by making a deal with Penguin to go to City Hall to ask the gangs from around the different areas in Gotham for a truce. Why is he doing this? well because the city's water supply is getting increasingly lower and lower by the day and Gordon wants there to be at least some people to be left alive when Gotham gets visited by the mainland. So off he and the other GCPD officers go to City Hall. Inside if Penguin, Barbara and various gang members. No Riddler as he's off still making up the submarine so he Penguin Barbara and her unborn child can escape Gotham. Gordon standing on the steps in Penguin's main room asks the gang members for a truce.

The Flash 5x15 : King Shark vs Gorilla Grodd review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The Flash returns from it's break with a battle for the ages pitting King Shark vs Gorilla Grodd. The episode begins at Star Labs with Cisco who says he and Caitlin have finally gotten the meta human cure ready. But there is one drawback they need a volunteer to test the cure on to make sure it works properly. Barry remembers that King Shark who was brought to Earth-1 from Earth-2 by Zoom to help take out The Flash and suggests they go to his holding facility in ARGUS. Lyla makes a guest starring role in this episode given she is the Director of ARGUS and all. After meeting with her Team Flash is brought to a pier / marina and learn that King Shark has opened his mind and mouth a lot lately. Mainly thanks to the inclusion of a Doctor named Tanya Lamden a Marine biologist who has developed new tech called The Crown which allows her to communicate with King Shark from a safe

Fighting with my Family review

Image
The Knight Family are a unique bunch to say the least. Not only do all the children wrestle but so do the mother and father. And out of that we got Paige. Florence Pugh stars as Saraya Knight a young girl from Norwich England. Her brother Zak Knight played by Jack Lowden has one dream. Of making it to the WWE and he will do anything to make it all possible. At it's core Fighting With My Family is exactly what the title says. A family who fight as we're shown the entire Knight family wrestling in small venues in Norwich. Ricky Knight who is the father wants so much for his kids to succeed and after sending tapes to WWE for them to review and possibly accept both Saraya and Zak for a tryout the family gets it's wish as WWE visits the UK for it's European tour. This is when we meet Vince Vaughn's character who is the guy in charge of recruiting talent and pushing them to see how far they can go and how much they have in them to make it to the top. Fighting With

Arrow 7x14 : Brothers & Sisters review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Arrow returns to continue it's 7th season that so far has been pretty damn great to be honest. The episode begins with Felicity running through a jungle like area. In the background we can hear soft cries of a baby. Felicity yells that she is coming but is greeted by Diaz who points a gun at her saying that she can never get away from him. Felicity wakes up in a sweat just as he is about to pull the trigger. At the SSPD building we see Oliver on the phone. He's talking with William or in this case leaving a voicemail as his son won't answer any of his calls. Rene walks up to Oliver and says that Zoey cut him out also after he failed to get custody of her. But now she's all good, Oliver just needs patience he says which we and everyone else knows is one of Oliver's strong suits. The flash forward scenes return and after the revelation that Black Star was indee
