Top 5 Favorite Movies of 2023

Image
  1) Barbie - Barbie-mania literally took over the world in the summer of 2023 and if you saw the movie you'd know that it wasn't just all hype as Greta Gerwig delivered the most ridiculously entertaning movie of 2023. Everything was perfect from Margot Robbie as Barbie to Ryan Goslin as Ken who really did steal the show. It was bubble gum for the eyes and offers up plenty of laughs and even a couple life lessons along the way. This is really something that I still haven't forgotten and won't forget anytime soon. Barbie is cinema at it's finest and hands down my favorite movie of 2023.  2) The Super Mario Bros Movie - Video game adapations have vastly improved the past few years from Sonic and it's sequel to this year's The Last of Us which was absolutely sublime. But we aren't here to talk about those we're here to talk about Mario and how he too like Barbie literally took over the cinema going world around the Easter period. From beginning to end T

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom review

I loved the original Aquman movie back in 2018. It was fresh, fun and unique. Jason Mamoa while not looking the part of the King of Atlantis was incredibly charming as Arthur Curry. 5 years have passed since then and with this movie being the last of the DCEU continuity as we know it will Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom go out in a grand fashion?? Well the answer is both yes and no. He doesn't see himself as fit to rule and honestly it shows in his rather carefree attitude. His life and the entire Atlantis civilization get up rooted when human invaders arrive literally on thier doorstep in the form of arch nemesis Black Manta who has been searching for Aquaman, Atlantis and a new way to gain power for quite some time. His goal?? avenge his father and kill everyone and everything Arthur Curry holds dear.  Much like t

Napoleon (2023) review

When I first heard about Napoleon being made I wasn't exactly too thrilled but once Ridley Scott was on board to direct with Joaquin Pheonix set to star is the titualr man himself I was a lot more interested, in fact it was easily one of my most anticipated movies to end this year. And now I've seen it and to be honest I'm quite torn. In some aspects its a playful almost fruitful comedy while on others it is grand and epic but not so much that it becomes over bearing. It's a mix of things and it just doesn't work all the time unfortiunately.  The story is something everyone should know. Napoleon Bonaparte the once French Military Commander and political leader who rose to prominence during the French Revolution. He led many successful campagins during the Revolution Wars but was ultimately struck down and left alone to live out the rest of his life on an island all of his own making for lust for power. Perfomance wise Napoleon is not exactly the greatest. It is no
