Top 5 favorite movies of 2021

Image
   1) - Last Night In Soho : Written and directed by Edgar Wright Last Night In Soho was pure and utter originality when it came to it's script and characters. From Anya-Taylor Joy to Thomasin McKenzie to it's use of music as a way into the soul and not forgetting it's quite astounding camera and visual work, Last Night In Soho was a master class of film making in my opinion. It is gripping from beginning to end stands atop of this last as my favorite movie of 2021 for so many other reasons than those I just mentioned. Just go watch this if you haven't I highly recommend it., maybe you can even go downtown afterwards? 2) - Promising Young Woman : The directorial debut of Emerald Fennell Promising Young Woman was a strong contender for my favorite movie of 2021 only just missing out. But that's not to say this was bad by any means in fact I had a hard time choosing between this and Last Night In Soho as my favorite movie of the year. Starring Carey Mulligan in what I

The Flash 8x5 : Armageddon, Part five review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Here we are at the final lap of the Armageddon Crossover event on The Flash and what a ride it's been thus far. This episode opens up with Barry rushing to see Joe after we saw him talking to his adoptive father on the phone. Barry immediately hugs Joe the moment he sees him and explains what exactly happened and how Eobard Thawne created his own Reverse Flashpoint where he literally took over Barry Allen's life, was about to marry Iris and killed Joe. But after Barry's heroics in last weeks episode he has restored the timeline to it's proper state. Well not exactly how it was as Damien Darhk soon appears before Joe and Barry. Immediately Barry asks how he is here to which Damien says he is here because of his connection to the time stone which Barry has in his possession. He will soon leave this timeline and every other timeline however and with his ti

West Side Story (2021) review

Image
I love musicals. I really do. So when it was announced that Steven Spielberg was remaking West Side Story I was genuinely excited to say the least. And after seeing it I can say that my excitement was matched in a big, beautiful and bold way. West Side Story tells the story of a forbidden love of two people caught up in a gang war between two completely different ethnic groups in 1950's New York City. Starring Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler as Tony (Anton) and Maria West Side Story is tragic tale of love, loss and gang warfare. The songs are amazing, the choreography is stellar and overall West Side Story is just cinematic magic that needs to be seen on the biggest screen possible.  West Side Story is not only beautifully directed and acted it's core elements of love, loss and tragedy are all handled in such a soft and elegant way that you'll easily get swept up in it's charm. And charming it is even if some scenes do get really intense one scene especially towards th

Resident Evil : Welcome to Raccoon City review

Image
I've put my fair share of hours into all the Resident Evil video games over the years from the original on the Playstation 1 to the latest installment in Resident Evil Village that dropped earlier this year. Not only were they groundbreaking games pretty much putting survival horror back on the map they were filled with zombies, monsters and a great atmosphere. So here we are in 2021 and after a string of previous movies starring Milla Jovoich that ranged from okay to flat out dreadful how can this new and improved reboot fair?? Resident Evil : Welcome to Raccoon City starts off by introducing her to a young Claire and Chris Redfield who after the death of their parents now reside in Raccoon City's Orphanage. It is also here where we meet the antagonist of the movie in William Burke who fans of the video games will be very aware of. Played by Neil McDonagh he is the one responsible for the zombie outbreak that begins to infest Raccoon City. Speaking of Raccoon City it is the

The Flash 8x4 : Armageddon, Part four review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. After only a so-so episode last week that ended with a wild reveal can this weeks episode of The Flash and the fourth part in it's Armageddon crossover be better?? well immediately the episode begins in big way as we see everyone gathering before Barry arrived to spoil the party which we saw at the end of last week. We see Ryan talking to Iris and the others and she lets slip that her and Sophie are not only married in this timeline / future but they're considering either having a baby or adopting. With the teasing of those two getting together over on Batwoman this really didn't surprise me all that much. We also learn here that Alegra has been away from Central City living in London but with a job offer in Gotham she is considering a return. Barry soon enters the room and like we saw last week everybody turns against him. He says that he will prove that h

The Flash 8x3 : Armageddon, Part three review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. After a truly epic of The Flash last week in part two of the Armageddon Crossover Event can this weeks episode be just as good?? the episode opens up where we ended last week with Barry seen talking to Jefferson Pierce (Black Lightning) after saying ''Injustice'' at the end of last weeks we find out here that Injustice is actually a sort of code word for a protocol that involves stopping a fellow hero by any means necessary. It's very much like how Batman has contingency plans for stopping any Justice League members from going completely rogue. Turns however that the plan for stopping Barry involves taking his speed from him. He wants Jefferson to perform this deed after all everyone involved in this universe's proto Justice League agreed to these terms and conditions no matter what they are. Jefferson ultimately agrees to this and the two get t
