Power Ballad review

Image
I love John Carney movies. Not only are the songs absolutely amazing but the stories surrounding these songs are always so sweet, so charming and make for great movies. This time around the story follows an American named Rick who has been living in Dublin for years after meeting a girl at one of his gigs. They have a daughter and marry and as time goes on Rick turns into a well past his prime wedding bang frontman. Once dreamed of headling Madison Square Garden his life has stagnated and although he still writes music still he doesn't exactly go any further with it. That all changes however as while performing at a wedding the groom invites his childhood friend to perform as a guest and it turns out he is part of a gigantic boyband in America who had recently gone solo (The Jonas Brothers but not the Jonas Brothers)  As Rick and Danny (Nick Jonas) meet and get to know one another they begin to jam and play music together. Danny a recent solo artist like I said is struggling...

Obsession (2026) review

Image
From Director Curry Baker comes an instant horror classic that is all about obsession (duh!) love and villainous intent. It's a simple story but Obsession is elevated to extreme heights with outstanding performances from everyone involved. The story follows a young man named Bear who breaks a mysterious object named a One Wish Willow to win the girl who he likes's heart. His crush called Nikki is friends with Bear but really only sees him as a friend and nothing else. Bear wants more so takes it upon himself to wish their love into existence but of course things take a really dark and sinister turn but not before they begin dating and all seems to be going well at first but something much more dangerous is building up inside of Nikki. Like I said Obsession is elevated to masterclass levels with it's performances. Nikki who is played by Inde Navarrette is a career defining performance which is easily award level in my opinion. The faces and actions she does when she is und...

The Devil Wears Prada 2 review

Image
20 years is a long time to wait for any sequel to a movie come out, and with the huge demand for The Devil Wears Prada 2 finally arriving does it hold up to the original?? and more so is it any good in it's own right?? all of the original cast returns as Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci all return to the world of fashion, glitz and glam. Twenty years have passed and after leaving her role as assisstant to medial mogul Miranda Priestly Anne Hathaway's character Andy Sachs is now apart of / running her own journlist based newspaper called The Vanguard. When she and her co-workers all get fired in a pretty public way she has to go to work once for with her ex boss at the Runway magazine.  I really did love the original The Devil Wears Prada movie it was very fashion focused and heavy on the journalist aspect and it's more of the same here but less of a balance. The first half is very journalistic while the second very fashion heavy with many glamoro...
