Arrow 6x3 : Next of kin review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

This week's episode starts with a new intro. Complete with Oliver saying Diggle is the Green Arrow as he has made a promise his son's mother that he would look after him. Nice little touch but I'd expect nothing else from this show as it's always on top of stuff like this.

The episode really kicks in as we see Team Arrow in action including Dig in full on Green Arrow get up. He fails to fire any arrows as it is noticed later by the team and Dinah continues to worry about him. He tries to overcome it but he isn't used to be team leader. He later overcomes this but it was god to see Diggle have to choose between what is right and what is wrong and the whole dynamic of the team changes in just one episode. Dig even gets a badass new weapon a crossbow that shoots arrows, this was another nice touch as it further separates Dig from Oliver as Green Arrow.

We see Oliver trying his upmost to become a full time dad to William even going as far as to ask Felicity to tutor him in maths as he is anxious of an upcoming maths test. William and Felicity look over maths later in the episode and that scene was a standout. William wants her to tutor him further and that'll be another nice relationship to see develop further. He ends up getting an A in his test (obviously) and Oliver decides to give Felicity the keys to his apartment. Towards the end of the episode we see Oliver put an anti vigilante vote in place and the FBI investigator still refuses to believe that anyone but Oliver is the Green Arrow.

The ending really threw me off as we see Diggle injecting himself with what I only assume is Mirakuru that Slade / Deathstroke used to use in season 2. I get why Dig is using it to ease the pain and the tremor he has but the lasting effects that it puts on someone are different and I can't wait to see how this plays out over the next few episodes.

If this review seems short it's because well the episode didn't really do anything or show anything else off. Sure there was some nice action scenes but there always is with this show. All in all I'd say this was just a standard episode. Nothing good and nothing bad. It was just there. Let's hope the Green Arrow gets back to his best shooting ways soon.
