The Flash 4x3 : Luck be a lady review
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.
Gonna start this review by saying that this episode was absolutely terrible. I mean after the highs of last week I was really hoping The Flash was somewhat back to it's best but nope. This episode may be the worst episode the show has ever produced in my opinion. Yes there's some funny moments in here but some are just downright terrible in particular the exchange between Harry Wells who returns from Earth 2 and Wally. It was just so awkward and didn't really add anything to their relationship. It's like they were trying way too hard to be funny when it was just coming off as almost cringe worthy. Gone is the charm and just overall feel of joy from season 1 and 2. I don't know what it is but this show is definitely missing something. I'll never stop watching as I love these characters but season 4 isn't off to a good start at all. I got a feeling this will end up like Arrow season 4 and I really don't want that to happen. This show has all the potential in the world to be a top class show but it's floundering.
We learn that the reason Harry is back is because he has a message for Wally a message in hologram form from Jesse who says she is breaking up with Wally. Wally goes to visit her (we don't actually see him go to earth 2) and towards the end of the episode he tells the team that he is leaving Central City to move to Blue Valley to start his own path as a hero. Could Wally be joining the Legends Of Tomorrow? that I'd love to see as he would be a great addition to that amazing show but it's highly unlikely really.
A new meta surfaces in Central City. Becky Sharpe also known as Hazard. She has the powers to create bad luck for anyone that she comes in contact with. The more good luck she gains the more bad luck is spread around. A nice concept for sure but she is way too overpowered especially towards the end as she practically almost destroys the entire city and keeps The Flash from stopping her. The actress who played her also was just too goofy for me but maybe that was what they were going for. We learn that when he first came out of the speedforce in episode 1 Barry left a whole bunch of dark matter behind him which all came crashing onto a bus full of people which one of them included Kilgor from last week so this is how all those Meta's The Thinker was talking about got their powers. There is 12 in total so there is still 10 more running around in Central City somewhere.
Speaking of The Thinker we see him at the start of the episode observing Hazard and trying to figure out her powers to the fullest extent. Later towards the end of the episode we see that he is using a Samuroid head to spy on the team and watch their every move. Smart move as he puts it ''They may be smart but I'm smarter'' The very end of the episode was a total shocker actually as we find out that Joe's girlfriend Cecil is pregnant. Joe completely freezes and that was how the episode ended.
In summary I did not like this episode at all and much like The Flash in this episode it fell flat on it's face. It felt complete filler and this early into the season that shouldn't happen. After last week's great episode this was a complete failure. This show used to run at such a break neck speed but now it's like it's on auto pilot. Time to put on those running shoes and speed things up eh Barry?
