The Flash 4x2 : Mixed Signals review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

We start off this week's episode by seeing a new meta in action named Deacon or as we later come to know him..Kilgor. He has the power to control any form of technology at a seconds notice. We later find out that he was part of a team that came up with some tech which they then sold for a lot of money which he got none of so obviously he wants revenge so he sets out to kill them all (as you do I suppose) Onto Barry whom we see having a lot of fun making breakfast for him and Iris. While Iris was sleeping Barry managed to sort out their entire wedding plans much to Iris's concerns. Barry seems out of the loop a lot in this episode. I don't know if it's just speedforce after effects as they never explain but he definitely feels off.

At Star Labs we see that Cisco has a built a new suit for Barry with a whole bunch of tech inside of it. That'll be important later. The suit even has built in visors which really remind me of Batman's detective vision for some reason. Complete with yellow eyes just like Batman's white outed eyes. This was a nice little touch. One of the Deacon's former team mates that I mentioned earlier gets into some car trouble thanks to the meta so it's Barry to the rescue in what was a really cool car scene actually. Barry practically dismantles the entire car and all that's left is the guy in the seat yelling for his life.

Gypsy arrives back on Earth 1 for a date with Cisco who actually blows her off to help Team Flash help track down the meta. Cisco realizes he's in the dog house and attempts to make it up to her and the two share a date towards the end of the episode. I love Gypsy wish she would become a season regular as her and Cisco's chemistry is on point.

Back onto Barry's suit and during the final fight with Kilgor he uses his meta powers to manipulate the suit and it goes completely bonkers. We learn that Cisco put way too much tech into the suit and that was honestly the highlight of the episode. This episode in total had a major Flash season 1 / 2 feeling. At least to me.

All in all this was one heck of a step up from last week's underwhelming premiere episode. Hopefully it can keep this momentum going. Welcome back Team Flash it's good to have you back at your best.
