The Flash 4x22 : Think Fast review
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it
The penultimate episode of The Flash season 4 and while not a brilliant episode by any means it is definitely better than last weeks and sets up the finale pretty well. It begins with a familiar face as we see John Diggle at a secret ARGUS black ops site but right away it's given away that it's just Devoe in disguise as Dig's whole voice and demeanor changes as he makes his way in towards the entrance of the building he is greeted by guards. Now back in his proper Devoe form he uses all his meta powers to take out the guards all while classical music plays in the background. This was a really fun intro to the episode and set it up really well in my opinion. Back at Star Labs and we see Harry who further begins to completely lose his memory. Now a bumbling idiot in a sense he knocks over chairs and has trouble even remembering simple stuff. This is when Barry runs into the room after surveying all air stations throughout the city / county. Ferris Air even gets another mention which was cool to see. Just as things look to be settling down the team gets a message that Devoe is at the same ARGUS site I mentioned earlier and he's there to use the meta known as Fallout to power the satellite's that he will use to begin the enlightenment. Barry ever the hero tries to come up with a plan to infiltrate the building but after Cisco surveys the security he learns that Barry will be met with all different kinds of things to overcome. This is when they all come up with the idea of Barry training Caitlin and Cisco to be in and use Flashtime (the same concept that we saw used in episode 15 this season) Barry tries to train them but things obviously don't go according to plan at first. It takes them time as Caitlin and Cisco struggle to keep in motion. They eventually get the jist of it and 3 of them set off to the ARGUS site in search of Devoe with a plan to stop him from launching the satellite's and save the hostages he has being kept as a distraction to stop Barry from following him into a pocket dimension. This is where Cisco and Caitlin come in as they deal with the hostages while Barry follows Devoe and actually does enter one of his pocket dimensions where they manage to end up in a city (they don't specify which city) but Barry actually manages to destroy Devoe's powered satellite's and Devoe doesn't even seem bothered by the situation as we get a typical villain monologue that while predictable was really interesting.
Back at Star Labs thinking they have stopped the enlightenment an alarm echoes throughout the building. It's Devoe and he is actually inside the time vault using the Star Labs satellite to begin his cause of wiping the entire planet's brains. Barry tries to get inside but is unable and the satellite gets launched and that's where it ends and next weeks will pick up I presume. If it seems like I didn't say much about this episode well it's because other than the Flash V Thinker parts the rest just didn't interest me. The Cecil being able to now become people thanks to her pregnancy expanding her powers past mind reading was ridiculous and Harry although funny at times his memory loss really impacted some serious scenes that could have been much better off without. But that being said the main aspect of the episode delivered in a big way and I now look forward to next week's finale of Season 4.
