Arrow 6x22 : The Ties That Bind review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it

This week's episode of Arrow begins at Oliver and Felicity's place as we see Oliver making breakfast for dinner which was quite odd but nevertheless Felicity seems worried about Oliver's behavior as he doesn't seem at all worried about what happened just a week ago as he seemed sure to be getting prison time. Oliver assures her he is fine and as they all sit down to eat he gets a message from Anatoli. Diaz and his men are on the way to kill him Felicity William and basically every other member of Team Arrow. This is done in a montage as all members face Diaz's men and fight to overcome the entire ordeal. Oliver manages to subdue the men, Dig and Lyla fight their way out of a hospital Curtis and his boyfriend (who gets injured) get away Dinah faces off against 3 guys and Rene and his daughter almost get killed but manage to make their escape to the 2nd bunker that everyone must now use as Diaz has the original bunker destroyed and burned to ashes.

Speaking of Diaz he really ups the game in this episode. He seems a lot more ruthless even going as far as to kill the member of the quadrant who had been appearing the past 2 weeks or so. Oliver tries harder to get Anatoli on board as an ally who agrees to help and arranges for Diaz to move to a more secure location fearing that Oliver and co will hit back and hit back hard. Diaz agrees and while they are on the move the van they are in gets attacked by Oliver but Diaz manages to make his escape once again. Back at the SCPD he seems to have gotten access to some sort of tech inside a steel necklace. He has his tech guy sort through the files and stuff as he threatens Anatoli over Oliver and co knowing about them moving. He knows someone blabbed and Anatoli ever so cool tells him that it wasn't him. Speaking of that necklace Felicity researches it and discovers that it is heavily encrypted and can't decrypt unless she can get closer to the actual necklace. This is where Lyla comes in as she is a member of ARGUS she goes to SCPD asking about Diaz (all undercover of course) as she is told to wait by one of the corrupt officers she places Felicity's sniffer device onto the main frame computer and she gets the files but not before Lyla gets made and a giant fight breaks out that Felicity even gets involved in leading to Oliver almost losing his cool with her. This is all really good as the show is focusing on one big bad and his threat instead of needless side plots. In fact I'd go as far as to say this is one of my favorite episodes this season mainly because of how direct and focused it is on the plot and it moves along so quickly it's all really good TV.
The episode ends back at SCPD as we once again see Diaz speaking to 2 more quadrant members before killing one and telling the other that he appreciates loyalty above everything else and he hopes he can get that from the quadrant from now on. The guy agrees and they shake hands but not before we see Oliver speaking with someone. Turns out it's Agent Watson from earlier this season. The same Agent Watson who was trying everything to get Oliver arrested. Well Oliver needs her help with the Diaz situation and she agrees to help but he must tell her the truth to which he does. 'I am The Green Arrow' he says and thus she agrees to help. This was a really impressive set up episode to next week's season 6 finale which I'm sure will be action packed as finale's usually are. Until next week then Team Arrow!
