Superman & Lois 3x7 : Forever and Always review

Be warned there will be SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

Another week and another great episode of Superman and Lois. This week's episode begins in a pretty somber way as we see that Lois is getting a lot more sick as she is seen throwing up into the toilet with Clark by her side. The chemo is seemingly taking it's toll on Lois as the following day she and Clark go to the hospital for yet another round of chemo. At the hospital Lois gets talking to the patients again especially the woman next to her who we learn to known as Peia which all ties into something much bigger later. Lois begins to question Peia about Bruno Mannheim which causes Peia to get angry with Lois so much so that she takes her chemo tray and sits on the other side of the room from Lois. This leads to Lois questioning her own intentions even going so far as to call herself a horrible person.

We get a lot of info about Bruno Mannheim and his past in this episode and it was really good to finally understand his intentions and plans for his part of the city. At the end of last weeks episode we saw that he knew who was under the Onomatopoeia mask and like I thought last week it was indeed his wife Peia who is like Lois suffering from cancer. It all makes sense now why Bruno Mannheim has been so focused and passionate about helping the people of his community who are sick. It all stems for his wife which instantly makes his character a lot more humane like which is just great. We actually learn even more about Bruno and his wife when Clark Kent gets to interview the man himself. It's a pretty intense interview between the two so much so that Bruno goes to the hospital and reveals all to Lois and Clark that him and Peia are indeed husband and wife. Lois feels really bad here for questioning Peia earlier given this new revelation. Peia's chemo therapy is now complete as the Mannheim's head home leaving Clark and Lois behind to think about just what happened. As both Peia and Bruno embrace we see her powers in full effect in a flashback as she uses her powers to straight out kill a group of people with her sonic scream like powers as her and Bruno's life together begins.

The episode draws to a close back at the Kent Farm where the boys search for answers on how they can help Lois with her sickness. They even go to the Fortress behind Clark's back to search if there is any Kryptonian technology that can help their mother. There is but given that Lois is human it would probably end up killing her and if it works well it would just end up doing more harm than good when it comes to the greater population. At home Lois tells her boys that if the cancer treatment works then great but if not then that's just life unfortunately and life is unfair. It's a pretty grim assumption but one that is sadly true. A fireworks display by Lana and Sarah soon perks up Clark and Johnathan who've hard a pretty tough day indeed. The episode ends with another revelation that Bruno Mannheim and Peia have a son and not really surprisingly it is indeed the boy Natalie is dating Mateo. Earlier in the episode he meets John Henry Irons for the first time over a pretty awkward lunch with Natalie. It does get easier between the three as it goes on but as the episode ends Mateo tells his parents that Natalie is the one and that they've got to meet him! so yes this is another really great setup for more to come and while Mateo being a Mannheim was a tad predictable it works and will be interesting to see unfold. This episode was great. Character development was top notch once again. Had some great reveals and an overall solid narrative flowing throughout from beginning to end. Things are only going to get better from here it seems as a certain Superman villain is on his way (Lex Luthor) and that is going to be special for sure!
