The Flash 9x11 : A New World, Part Two review

Be warned there will be SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

After the last 2 episodes of The Flash and especially last weeks instant classic that went full circle I was expecting this weeks follow up to be at least good. Well shame on me because this episode apart from a couple of things was straight up bad. It begins with Eddie who last we saw got struck by lightning. He walks into the CCPD with almost every cop inside averting their eyes towards him. He walks into the office of the CCPD Captain where he presents the file he had last week which says that he isn't Eddie Thawne infact he is actually someone named Dr Gilmore. His ID even changes to represent this. He's clearly in a state of panic as voices begin to be heard by him and it's not long before he runs out of the office but we do learn something. He wants and needs to learn just how Eddie Thawne died and why. Mainly because it has been struck from any and all records, don't worry though it is explained at the end of the episode. During last weeks episode we saw Barry vanish into thin air ending up in the year 2000. Well this week we learn just exactly why and it's because of Radiation from a crystal named Cobalt. It's all beginning to make sense.

Iris is seen at her office and along with Alegra they talk about Barry vanishing. We see that Iris has kept the The Flash vanishing during Crisis headline that she wrote. It's feeling more and more that Barry won't be returning as Iris is now pretty much going to give birth any day now which is a bit fast but to be expected given the shorter season. Alegra leaves the office and enters the hallway where she sees someone. We don't see who it is but she ends up getting blasted by blue energy which can only mean it's the blue crystal again with a new vessel which it is but more on that in just a bit. As Alegra is knocked out the gas pipes get turned up to max levels which causes mass panic in the entire area as Iris is told to stay in her office. Khione and a returning Chillblaine soon turn up and Khione uses her powers to help co-workers of Iris breathe again. They end up calling her a monster even though she just tired to help. Granted she turned their skin green as she helped them breathe again but it was only temporary. Speaking of Khione the second half of this episode focuses pretty heavily on her as we learn that she is a Goddess who is connected to all living things, matters and forms.

The episode draws to a close back at Star Labs where Chillblaine is revealed to be the new vessel for the blue crystal. He says he is there to eliminate the competition which means not only killing The Flash but also Iris and her baby. It's interesting for sure but I'd like to see more of the true Cobalt Blue which I really hope is coming as only 2 episodes are left. In short Khione ends up stopping Chillblaine by straight up killing him then remaking him from the ground up in what was a very strange moment and scene. The Khione character has done nothing for me at all since she appeared which is a shame but alas what can you do. What I also really didn't like here is how The Flash reappears randomly just as Iris goes into labor but then just disappears again at the hospital. After last weeks episode this episode barely featured Barry Allen / The Flash and that just annoyed me to no end. The episode ends back with Eddie Thawne like I said earlier and he is seen digging the grave of himself..well Eddie Thawne. He now experiences visions along with the voice in his head. We get visions of the ending of season 1 where Eddie sacrificed himself to stop the Reverse Flash. The CCPD Captain shows up telling Eddie to stop but he doesn't instead he begins to slowly lose his mind more and more as he finally gets to the casket. He opens it revealing no body inside which makes a lot of sense. Eddie turns around and now he is sporting the gunshot wound he had when he shot himself. He picks the bullet out of his chest showing it to the Captain as the episode ends right there with to be continued once again flashing on the screen. After last week this episode did nothing for me. Khione is boring, Chillblaine is boring, the Cobalt Blue crystal however is interesting and hopefully next episode we get full on Cobalt Blue in the form of Eddie Thawne. With barely any Flash this episode was just not good and feels like such a massive disappointment after last weeks. 2 episodes now remain. I really hope The Flash gets the ending he deserves.
