The Flash 7x16 : P.O.W. review
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.
After last weeks much improved episode of The Flash can this weeks episode continue that trend as we near the finish line of the season? the episode begins as we see Barry watching the news. Reports of the speed war are escalating within Central City with the Godspeed Clones still wrecking havoc in the streets. As Barry gets up off the chair he once again sees Nora his daughter. But unlike last week this time Nora begins to phase in and out of existence with only one clear warning. The future is changing with what is happening in the current timeline. With the Godspeed Clones very much now a big danger within Central City will them arriving now really affect the future and more importantly will Nora cease to exist? back at Star Labs and Barry who is a bit shaken up after what he just once again dreamed about is informed that Central City is basically in a electronic lockdown thanks to the energy created by the Godspeed Clones. Nobody can text or phone anyone from inside or out. But help is here in the form of none other than John Diggle who thanks to Cisco and ARGUS has a very helpful device in hand. He tests it it front of everyone to show how The Flash can use it to capture one of the Godspeed clones. Dig tests it out like I said and it works like a charm. It basically stops anything right in it's path even Speedsters. Pretty handy eh? everyone soon gets to work and The Flash along with Diggle who dons his Spartan getup actually do manage to trap a Godspeed Clone with no issues which was a bit of a surprise. Diggle however soon after begins to experience headaches which Cecil taps into. It's definitely not headaches she says could something bigger and more galactic be happening??
Back at Star Labs and with the Godspeed Clone now inside of the meta human cells in the pipeline The Flash begins to question the Clone about their endgame. He is about to use Chester's translation but this Godspeed Clone can actually speak and not only that but he knows that Barry Allen is The Flash. But what is the endgame here? well a man named August Heart who is Godspeed in the comics is infact in the current time period. Searching for unlimited speed and power these Godspeed Clones are basically just pawns who once August achieves his goal will be tossed aside left to die. This Godspeed Clone ends up breaking free from the cell because as explained he is not a meta rather an artificial meta human much like Zoom in season 2. When exiting Godspeed ends up breaking the device used to capture him leaving Team Flash with no real defensive or offensive options. The only thing now that Barry comes up with is for him to time travel to 2049 to check up on Nora. 2049 also being the the original time where Godspeed first showed up back in season 5 as we saw back then. The Flash enters the speedforce and begins his run to the future but Godspeed Clones are waiting for him..
The episode draws to a close inside of the speedforce as The Flash is pulled from the stream of pure energy by none other than the Still Force Dion. In summary it's not Nora who is going to be affected in the future it's actually now in the present time with Iris who Dion pulled from the timeline and has hidden her away. She was ceasing to exist within the timeline which is why Barry also saw Nora do the same thing. No Iris no Nora so it all adds up. Dion whose strength is diminishing by housing Iris in a pure time stream sends Barry back to the current time so that he can fight this speedster war and win. While Barry was attempting to go to the future John, Diggle and Frost are seen patrolling the streets helping where they can. They come across a man who seems completely lost. Cecil calms him down and reads his mind but it's blank. The man rambles on about the current spot being important. A spot that Iris suggested August Heart would go to thanks to previous knowledge from the future. They end up taking him back to Star Labs and injecting him with some Dark Matter energy to get his mind back up and running. He blurts out his name and just says August. Could this actually be THE August Heart? there's more to this there's got to be. The episode ends with Diggle and Barry and it's Diggle who is off. He needs to sort out what is going on as we see the shot of him picking up the Green Lantern ring from Arrow's season finale. Could we be seeing John ''Diggle'' Stewart sooner rater than later?? I hope so! well the episode ends with a big surprise for Barry as Nora rushes into the speed lab. She is fine and even says Iris is fine but how can that be?? Nora also says that Barry will be surprised that someone is with her. Someone then speeds into the room and it's none other than Impulse. Meet your son Bart Nora says to Barry as he looks on in complete shock and awe. A great reveal and little twist as we head into the 150th episode of the show and the seasons's end. This was a really great episode truth be told. It wasn't perfect and this show still has problems to sort out but this episode and last weeks episode were a step in the right direction. Here's hoping The Flash finishes season 7 strong.
