Stargirl 3x11 : Frenemies - Chapter eleven : The Haunting review

Image
Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. After what was a pretty shocking reveal at the end of last weeks episode in the form of Jordan Mehkent (Icicle) actually being alive and well not only did he kill the Crocks in cold blood but it has been him who has been watching everybody in Blue Valley. This weeks episode opens up at the end of season one where we see Courtney and Icicle battling atop the of the Blue Valley clocktower. As we know it was Mike who ended up shattering Icicle into tiny little pieces as he drove right through him. Well at the time this looked to be a good thing but in truth Icicle didn't perish here, instead he merely became stronger and one with his true form. Soon after he was shattered into pieces we see the pieces of Icicle turn to a mushy watery liquid form as they join together and make their way to a nearby sewer drain. It enters the sewers and ...

Stargirl 3x10 : Frenemies - Chapter ten : The Killer review

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. After what was a truly mindblowing reveal at the end of last weeks episode of Stargirl how will this weeks episode follow it all up?? the episode begins as we see The Crocks at home we see Artemis's many, many awards and accolades throughout the home. This is very much a Crock central episode and by the time it all ends it's pretty heartbreaking. We soon catch up with Mike and Jakeem who are very much still scared and running for their life from the Ultra-Humanite. After using a wish the Thunderbolt places them in the middle of a wooded area with no phone coverage or basically anything to truly help them. The search for the two continues throughout the episode but ultimately it is the boys themselves who make it home but more on that in a bit. Also during last weeks episode we were treated to one of the most intense, wild and highly...

Stargirl 3x9 : Frenemies - Chapter nine : The Monsters review

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. After a short review last time out this weeks review of Stargirl will be a lot more in depth and man what an episode we've got here. It begins with Camerons grandparents who we see talking about their grandson and how he was told to not engage in art anymore. A photo of Courtney that Cameron drew is destroyed with ice and tossed aside. Speaking of Courtney both she and Pat are soon back home after a long time away in the Shadowlands for Pat and a trip to Helix for Courtney as she meet Mr Bones. What Pat saw in the Shadowlands is clearly troubling him as he tells all to Barbara. He mentions how he saw his father but that's not what really got to him. What got to him was Mike and how he feels like a failure of a father to him. Pat comes to the conclusion that Mike needs to meet his mother after she basically just up and left him and P...

Stargirl 3x8 : Frenemies - Chapter eight : Infinity Inc Part two review

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. The review of this episode of Stargirl is extremely late and will be pretty brief as a new episode airs tonight and I'll have that review up on Friday but with that being said let's get into it. The episode picks up right where the previous ended as we catch up Pat and The Shade who were thrust into the Shadowlands when they collided with the powers of Todd Rice who also has a similar set of powers like The Shade but his are not at all under control, at least not for the time being. It is here in these Shadowlands where Shade mentions how he will not be fully healed of his lack of power until Jennie is cleared of corruption through her Lantern ring. Pat and Shade run into all manner of constructs and figments of imagination as they meet The Gambler, Pats dad and more. It's a fascinating time and one that ends in a bittersweet moment...

Black Adam review

Image
In what has been a long time coming and a passion project for Dwayne Johnson Black Adam finally arrives on the big screen making his DC film debut. Black Adam's story is one of slavery, power and ultimately becoming a symbol for the people of your home. It stars Dwayne Johnson as the titular anit-hero real name Teth Adam. He is imprisoned in a tomb with thousands of years having passed since he was cast into the tomb by the very same wizards who gave Billy Batson the power to turn into the hero Shazam. Thousands of years have passed in the city of Khandaq which is now under control by a group named Intergang they rule over with a pretty concrete fist. That all changes when a group of people come across the tomb of Black Adam when looking for a crown that is said to have belonged to a King of Khandaq years previous, the same King that Black Adam defeated in a pretty brutal manner. It is from here where the story truly kicks into gear as the things heat up in big and bombastic way....

Stargirl 3x7 : Frenemies - Chapter seven : Infinity Inc. Part one review

Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This weeks episode of Stargirl is part one of a two parter episode arc revolving around Jennie and Todd Rice. The episode begins six months in the past as we catch up with Jennie who last we saw helped Courtney and everyone else defeat Eclipso. She is at the care home she grew up in and is now leaving ready to out on her own. She sits on the steps of the building and looks inside of a package she was given by the woman who runs the care home. Inside we see a toy car, a photo of her and her brother Todd when they were kids and finally most important is the Green Lantern ring once belonging to Alan Scott. As Jennie picks up the ring we're brought to Civic City where we finally meet Todd Rice who just so happens to be sneaking into a building with his friend Danny as it's his birthday and Danny has prepared a special meal for the two. ...

Stargirl 3x6 : Frenemies - Chapter six : The Betrayal review

Image
Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. After a lackluster 2 episodes Stargirl returns to form and in a big way. The episode begins with Rick who we see going into the gym at night to test out his hourglass after last week removing the limiter on it. He is easily able to go over one hour now and go he does as he lifts weights and trains hard. He shouts and pumps the air once the hour time limit passes and he is still able to lift the weights with ease. As this is going on we see that Rick is being watched just like everyone in Blue Valley it seems. What's odd here however is that a puzzle is being made by whoever this is. It slowly begins to form more and more as the episode goes on but it's really hard to make it out. Just who is watching everyone?? we soon see Yolanda at confession as she talks to her parish priest about forgiveness for what she is about to do. This is ...
