Stargirl 3x10 : Frenemies - Chapter ten : The Killer review

Be warned there will be SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

After what was a truly mindblowing reveal at the end of last weeks episode of Stargirl how will this weeks episode follow it all up?? the episode begins as we see The Crocks at home we see Artemis's many, many awards and accolades throughout the home. This is very much a Crock central episode and by the time it all ends it's pretty heartbreaking. We soon catch up with Mike and Jakeem who are very much still scared and running for their life from the Ultra-Humanite. After using a wish the Thunderbolt places them in the middle of a wooded area with no phone coverage or basically anything to truly help them. The search for the two continues throughout the episode but ultimately it is the boys themselves who make it home but more on that in a bit. Also during last weeks episode we were treated to one of the most intense, wild and highly enjoyable fights from this show. This week everyone is laying low and it's no more evident than when we see Cameron's grandparents at the hospital his grandfather still in pretty rough shape. His grandmother tells him that he knows what must be done now and he later sets out to find Courtney and finally get her to tell him everything.

After a chaotic fight last week you'd think Pat and Sylvester wouldn't go near the Mehkent home but they do as they go to see Cameron's grandparents to make sure they haven't done anything to Mike or Jakeem in a sort of revenge plan. They haven't according to grandfather Mehkent in a scene that escalates pretty quickly with shots being fired by both sides..well Sylvester more than anyone else here. They're both told to leave the home before his wife arrives home and kills them both to which Pat and Sylvester leave. Back at the Whitmore home and Lily isn't going to be arriving home as she turns up on the door of Barbara threatening to kill her. This episode really ramps up from here on out as Tigress arrives to save Barbara as the neighbors begins crossbow training soon after to aid Barbara in protecting herself. Back with Mike and Jakeem now and they soon fall right into a trap by Cindy of all people who says she is out here hunting the Ultra-Humanite. She also mentions how he a sort of experiment for her father the Dragon King. We get a ton more info on this later from Sylvester and Pat.

The episode draws to a close as Mike and Jakeem wish that they were back at the diner and their wish is granted this time a lot more accurately. They soon go to the pit stop and finally reunite with Pat and Sylvester and this is where they tell them about the Ultra-Humanite and how he was one of the Justice Society's most fiercest foes. Back at the Whitmore home we get a lot more info about the villain. Sylvester and Pat say that the Ultra-Humanite was actually a scientist once. He escaped the clutches of the JSA and managed through surgery to take his own brain and place it into someone else. He had it there for over a year until finally both he and Dragon King somehow made the body that he now inhabits which just so happens to be a giant white gorilla. But that episode is far from over as not only does Courtney confess that it was her who killed Cameron's father and not Mike but we also have to say goodbye to the Crocks who are murdered in a pretty shocking way. Firstly is Courtney who does indeed fess up to Cameron by saying she killed his father although it was an accident. Cameron tells her to leave and that he never wants to see her again which was pretty rough. Courtney truly has been through a lot this season. But the far more important thing here is The Crocks who are seen returning home after a visit to the Mehkent home. They're seen walking home but come to a stop when Crusher spots posters of his gym tossed on the ground which lead to a man-hole. The two go down into the sewers and come across a room. The same very room which we've seen a lot this season. It is where everyone in Blue Valley is being watched and monitored from. The two are interrupted by someone in a black cloak and mask. This person impales them both leading to them freezing over as they die together on the ground. The person is revealed and it's none other than Icicle. Jordan Mehkent. He is back and seemingly in a new and more evil way. How is this possible?? could Ultra-Humanite be involved?? or is there something else at play?? that's how the episode ends and this was a great follow up to last weeks episode. It was highly enjoyable and had some great character moments, some great backsight for the Ultra-Humanite and the reveal of Icicle returning was something I was not expecting. 3 episodes now remain and this show is officially over. Roll on next week!
