Eternity review
Could you imagine dying and ending up in between both the land of the living with not only your husband of 60 years but also your first true love?? that's the dilemma facing Elizabeth Olsen's character as Eternity is about love, loss and longing for what you could have. Miles Teller and Elizabeth Olsen star as a married couple of 60+ years and after Teller's character Larry's death at a family gathering he ends up in the afterlife a place where each soul has a week to choose their very own 'Eternity' where they will spend the rest of time. It is here where he meets a mysterious bartender who turns out to actually be his wifes first true love and who she planned on spending her life with until he departed for the Korean war where he was tragically killed leaving Olsen's Joan behind who later ends up meeting Larry.
It is in this afterlife where Larry decides to wait for his wife to arrive so that they can pick an Eternity together. Upon arrival all seems to be going as planned for Larry but his world is turned upside down when Joan ends up meeting her once true love played by Callum Turner who has been waiting for her to arrive for almost 70 years. It's an instant click between the two leaving Larry sort of in a rough spot as he sees his wife drift away from him ever so slowly. So it's up to Joan to decide who she wants to spend Eternity with and it's quite the dautning decision as the movie twists and turns full of sweet moments, charm and extremely likable characters.
Eternity is certainly an eye opening watch it's filled with visions of life, death and our own understanding of it all. The cast are fantastic from Miles Teller to Elizabeth Olsen to Callum Turner all are very enderaing, charming and likable like I mentioned all culminating in a great watch as Eternity proves that love conquers all even in the most dire of situations. While this movie is certainly not brilliant by any means it is well worth checking out for a very solid and fun look at love, life and death.
