M3GAN 2.0 review

 


Back in 2022 M3GAN released and instantly became a huge pop culture phenomenon. The original movie which was a Child's Play like horror instant hit was really well done and I did enjoy it quite a ton. Fast forward three years and it's sequel which is perfectly titled M3GAN 2.0 has arrived and not only is it underwhelming it is a complete tonal shift going from a horror to a full blown action conspiracy thriller. And boy oh boy does it not really work here. The story picks up some time after the original movie. Gemma who was the original creator of M3GAN somehow avoided jail time for her involvement in what was a murderous rampage by the AI doll all to protect her niece Katie. Now Gemma has become a anti AI activist. Unknown to her however a defense contractor has created a military grade weapon known as Amelia. 

Right off the bat the overall feeling of this movie feels so different to it's original counterpart. It's a lot more comedy and action heavy with minimal horror elements. In that sense it sort of feels half baked which is unfortunate and it's length which is close to 2 hours doesn't really help as it does take some time to really get going here as the rebuilding process of M3GAN takes some time to get underway. Once the AI is rebuilt and with a new more durable and taller body frame it does pick up but it comes crashing down again soon after a lame twist that I saw coming a mile away. 


I really wanted to like M3GAN 2.0 so much. There is some interesting ideas here like the battles between the two AI's is well done with various camera jumps and cuts. That being said everything else around it feels so mismashed and scrambled together. The real highlight of the movie of course is M3GAN herself as she does really bring the action, vibes, look and even comedy but for the most part this is a uninteresting sequel which is so disappointing to see.

Gotham 5x1 : Year Zero review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it Gotham finally returns for it's fifth and sadly last season and with a run of only 12 episodes there is a lot to get through and eventually wrap up. It begins on Day 391 of No Man's Land as the final battle for Gotham comes to a head as Captain Gordon, Harvey Bullock, Riddler and even Penguin all suit up and get loaded for combat as all men led by many more GCPD officers open fire from a top a massive wall as Jim Gordon says ''For Gotham'' this of course is going to be the end of the season but let's go all the way back to day 87 of No Man's Land where we see Gordon talking to someone on a radio. He explains the situation currently going on in Gotham. Superman & Lois 3x13 : What Kills You Only Makes You Stronger review

                Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Season 3 of Superman and Lois has come to and end in the most devastatingly epic way. The finale opens up with Sam Lane telling Lois and Clark that Lex Luthor is nowhere to be found. Clark adds more to this by saying he can't hear him either but Lois is not convinced after all Lex did literally threaten her at the end of last weeks episode. A meteor shower is planned for the evening right at the center of Smallville town so you just know something is going to go down then and as expected something major does go down but more on that a bit later. As the boys leave the house Lois tells Clark that she is ready to be intimate again and the two fly off to a private secluded area where they can be together for the first time since Lois had her breasts removed due to her cancer.
