Flow review
Winner of the best animated feature film at the Academy Awards and made with a free video making software Flow tells the story of a cat's struggle to survive as a giant flood closes in. Told with no dialouge Flow is utterly remarkable in it's way of telling it's story and is beyond comprehension in it's handling of the way the story is told through the eyes and ears of a black cat. Right from the get go you feel a real attachment to the cat and as the movie progresses it only deepens further and further as more and more aninals of all shapes and sizes join the cat on it's journey.
I was very skeptical on seeing Flow if I'm being honest as the lack of dialouge had me a little bit concerned but those worries were washed away with the flood almost instantly as not only does it not need dialogue it vastly improves the story being told here as the animals all interact with one another in such a stunning and moving manner it's truly mesmarizing to watch play out. Along for the ride are a lemur, a dog, our lovable black cat, a giant bird and even a Capybara. The way they all look out for one another and tend to their needs like gathering food is something to behold it is utterly captivating.
Flow is amazing, simply put. From the opening minutes it grips you and refuses to let you go until the credits begin to roll. Everything from the visuals and music to the characters are pretty much perfection come to life. This is art, this is cinema at it's finest and overall Flow is easily one of my favorite movies of 2025 thus far. Not only is it well deserving of it's Academy Award win but it should be showered in praise it is truly a masterpiece that you must go and check out for yourself you won't regret it!
