Superman and Lois 4x9 : To Live and Die Again review

Be warned there will be SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it

After 3 weeks of masterful episodes this weeks episode of Superman and Lois is more of a prelude to the finale next week but it's also so much more than that as not only does it set up the final battle but we also get a comic accurate Doomsday and Lex finally adorning his Warsuit. The episode opens up at the Kent family home where Lois is seen attempting to regain advertising but to no avail. The boys are on edge with the whole Luthor situation and even suggest going after him which Clark shuts down immediately. They want to step up but that's now how Clark / Superman operates. At the end of last weeks episode we saw Lex Luthor and Amanda McCoy get cozy together and this week he hands her the keys to the Luthorcorp castle so to speak. He makes her the 2nd highest shareholder of the company instantly making her rich. But is this all in good faith or is Luthor planning on something more sinister?

With Luthor's planning drawing to a close Clark takes the boys to the Fortress of Solitude to run diagnostics on the Warsuit which as we know once belonged to John Henry Irons. Johnathan and Jordan are outrun, out manuvered and basically stopped at everyone attempt. The Warsuit is vastly better than them and even almost a fully powered Superman which Clark mentions. As this is going on we see Lois visit Bruno Mannheim in prison. The two talk about Lex his plans and what comes next. Bruno says Superman still has some work to get done and boy does he as Lex is seen with Milton Fine working on the Warsuit once again it's close to being field ready. As work continues Milton discovers files belonging to the Doomsday experiment inside the Warsuit's mainframe. Basically it confirms that Doomsday isn't actually dead he is still in Smallville attempting to burrow his way threw the mines back to his homeworld, the mines once being the place where the bridge to the two worlds was.

The episode draws to a close as Lex gets into his Warsuit and heads for the mines to confront Doomsday. As all of this is happening it becomes clear that Lex had something to do with Gretchin's disappearance which prompts Amanda to get on edge as she now shares something similar with her, is Lex just using Amanda?? it remains to be seen but her character is going through a lot in this episode which I liked. As for Lex he arrives at the mine and sees Doomsday, he begins to once again inflict pain on it just as Superman arrives but it's too late as Doomsday is blown up by attached body mines. This leads to Doomsday getting even stronger and getting a very comic accurate look complete with spikes around his face and body a very faithful look to the Superman destroyer. The episode ends as Doomsday makes his way to Smallville as the entire street and town is evacuated by the boys and Lois as above in the skies it's Superman vs Doomsday round 2. The episode cuts off when Superman falls to his knees in front of his family before being picked up by the head by Doomsday which will lead directly into next weeks last ever episode which is going to be absolutely insane. This episode was great, not as good as the past number of weeks but still very, very good. A great setup for the finale next week, a comic accurate Doomsday and Lex Luthor whose plan seems to be all falling into place. Next week it all ends as Superman and Lois ends hopefully in the best way possible. Roll on next week!
