Batman - Tower of Vengeance : Vengeance timeline

 

Opening narration :

''I know'' it was the words on a piece of paper left at the doorstep of Barbara Gordon as her and her father slept, what could it all mean and how did she fit into this seemingly ever changing puzzle?? Batman, Robin and Alfred were on the case as the day of Vengeance grows ever near in Gotham City

Bruce Wayne and Alfred finish explaining everything to Barbara as the letter she had received continues to drive Bruce Wayne crazy as the day went on and ultimately turned into night, as for Barbara her father had texted her asking her to come home for dinner that he was going to prepare for them both later that day, Barbara reads the text to Bruce and Alfred

''I am going to prepare dinner for us both tonight so don't be late 6pm sharp''

''Ah I see Mister Gordon is back on his feet and doing well''

''He is and to be honest I've been meaning to ask you about something, his Doctor what was her name again??..Doctor Leslie Thompkins right??..Bruce did you ask her to give my dad special attention while he was in hospital??''

Alfred looks at Bruce with a raised eyebrow

''Did you sir??''

                                                         Bruce Wayne

''Yeah I did, Jim is a close ally to The Batman, not so much Bruce Wayne but I had to make sure he was being looked after so yeah I did ask Leslie to keep an eye on him'

''Master Bruce and Doctor Thompkins go way back you see, ever since Bruce began this 'crusade' of his she has always been his own personal Doctor so to speak. She has been a close friend and ally for quite some time now''

''Well thank you Bruce for making sure my dad would be looked after I appreciate that''

Barbara smiled before looking at the time it wasn't long until 6pm she needed to get home as quickly as possible so not to worry or alert Jim, she left the note with Bruce and Alfred before waving goodbye to Robin as she left the bat-cave herself via the elevator leading back up to Wayne Manor's foyer, she leaves the manor and heads home but down below in the bat-cave tension was rising and quickly...

''Y'know Master Bruce perhaps some time away from all things Batman will do you good?? you've been working nonstop lately''

Bruce stands up and answers firmly and strongly

''No..just no Alfred, Vengeance doesn't stop Elizabeth doesn't stop and whatever else she is doing doesn't stop so no I will not stop either, I appreciate your concern you know I do but this is more than just being the Batman..now it's about family, restoring the Wayne name and bringing down Elizabeth before she causes this city to fall into utter chaos beyond repair''

Alfred just nods slightly still very much worried about Bruce Wayne as he always has and always will be but now he knew Bruce was right with his task true and his mind sharp. with tensions high and things begin to heat up we take a trip back to the night previous as Elizabeth and Thomas Elliot attempt to break into and take over Wayne Enterprises for their own selfish gain.

''You know taking down Bruce Wayne is not something I thought would be possible but I must say Elizabeth you've got quite the quick wit and charm about you to do so, all of these gatherings and public outcry to get rid of the Wayne family name has been brilliantly executed''

''Connections Mr Elliot, connections and power are everything in this city as you're well aware''

The two arrive close to Wayne Enterprises and stop a couple of a hundred yards away from the building which was heavily guarded both inside and out, Elizabeth dressed to the nines in a suit dons her 'Vengeance' mask while Thomas Elliot puts on a mask of his own making that completely covers his face as to not have anyone suspecting that he would be working with Vengeance

''Okay here we go...our birthright of owning this city begins now''

Vengeance and Elliot stand not far from Wayne Enterprises, they scope out the area as two guards are outside patrolling while inside many more awaited them, Vengeance strikes first and takes out the two guards by the door with ease, once inside Thomas Elliot takes out one of the guards behind the main counter who is working the night shift while Vengeance deals with the rest almost like a hurricane is blistering through Wayne Enterprises main lobby with how quick she is with her take-downs, the room is clear now but they haven't long before the guards wake up and realize just what has happened so after turning on the main breaker for electricity throughout the entire building the two claim Bruce Wayne's office for themselves and this is where they will stay until Gotham is theirs..

''I have one question, where did you learn to fight and be stealthy like that?? that was an incredible display Elizabeth''

Elizabeth doesn't respond, instead she takes off her mask sets it on Bruce Wayne's desk and sits in his chair surveying the entire city of Gotham in what was a most spectacular view from atop Wayne Enterprises main office

''Now the real fun begins Thomas''

Barbara Gordon is shown entering her house where she is met with an apron wearing Jim Gordon

''Um what is going on Dad??''

                                                      Jim Gordon

''Oh Barbara you're back and for once you're actually early it's not even 6pm yet, well I told you I was making dinner but I most confess we won't be dining alone tonight''

Barbara Gordon

''We won't??''

Barbara walks into the dining room and sees none other than Doctor Leslie Thompkins sitting down sipping on a glass of water which she immediately puts down once she sees Barbara

                                               Jim Gordon

''Yeah I hope you don't mind but Leslie will be joining us''

Barbara was taken back for a moment but soon nodded and smiled

                                                   Barbara Gordon

''Of course dad it's no problem and Leslie it's so nice to see you again, I must thank you again for taking such good care of my dad while he was in hospital''

Doctor Thompkins waves Barbara off insisting that it was just all part of her job

                                         Leslie Thompkins

''All part of the service Barbara and I must say it is great to see you again, I hope I'm not intruding I know you and your dad are really close''

Just then Jim walks back into the room with 3 plates of food, placing them on the table he finally sits down not taking his eyes off of Leslie

''So Barbara, I know you're probably not used to this but well I might as well tell you, me and Leslie are together now and have been pretty much since I got home''

Barbara who was now sitting in the middle of the table began to eat the meal Jim had prepared before finally speaking up

''That's amazing dad, I'm happy for you I really am..for both of you''

Just as Barbara finishes her sentence her phone vibrates, it's a message from Robin

                                                    Text Message 

''First training session tonight if you're available, 9pm in the Bowery the address and how to get to the building is included in this message, I'll meet you there''

Barbara was surprised she didn't think her training would begin so quickly, she smiled a little but not so much to alert Jim or even Leslie

                                     Leslie Thompkins

''Oh what's this texting at dinner?? have you met someone Barbara??''

Barbara not knowing how to reply decided it would be best to respond with a quick lie to cover her tracks at least for the time being after all Jim seemed happy with Leslie which was a refreshing state to see him in

                                           Barbara Gordon

''Met someone?? well yeah I guess I have but we're just friends I have no time for anything serious right now but we're just going to hang out a bit later that's okay right dad??''

                                                Jim Gordon

''Okay course it's good to see you like this you're usually buried in a book or online so knowing that you're meeting with someone will be nice for you Barbara just promise me you'll be back before midnight you know how dangerous Gotham is at night''

Barbara nods agreeing to Jim's terms which weren't at all unreasonable, Gotham was even more dangerous than ever before especially at night, there was only so much Batman and Robin could do along with the help of Alfred, Barbara continued to eat her meal as Jim and Leslie's eyes remained locked on one another

''I'm about finished up here dad is it alright if I go now?? sooner I go sooner I will be back y'know, it was great to see you Dr Thompkins''

''Oh please call me Leslie and you too Barbara I hope we can really get to know one another a lot more going forward''

                                 Jim Gordon

''Okay Barbara be safe and don't forget be back before midnight''

Barbara nods one final time and leaves the house immediately pulling out her phone to check the text message again for the location where Dick would meet her, The Bowery which is Uptown Gotham wasn't actually too far away from where Barbara was, she hailed down a taxi which took her to the place it was old, abandoned and felt exactly like the type of place where some shady stuff might go down, Barbara pays the driver and upon exiting the car she pulls up her phone again

'' Looks like I'm in the right place but damn it, it's 9:15.. I'm late, I hope Robin is still here and he hasn't left that would not be a good start at all..I need to be the perfect student if this is going to work''

Suddenly a voice can be heard from behind Barbara

                                               ?????

''You do know it's rude to keep a man as busy as I am waiting don't you??''

Barbara turns around and sees Robin standing across from her next to his bike with it's engine still running

''Yeah I'm so sorry about being late it's usually me who is the early one but something came up with my dad and his new girlfriend and I just totally lost track of the time''

                Robin

''Your dad is seeing someone??''

As he finishes speaking Robin turns off the bike's engine and pulls a black drape over it before moving it to a secure location just outside the building, he joins Barbara by the entrance as the two begin to enter

''Yeah he is I just found out earlier..I'm happy for him he really deserves to be happy after all he has given this city so much of himself''

Barbara and Robin enter the building and it begins to light up as Robin turns on the power what Barbara sees astounds her almost bringing her to a full stop in entrance way, as the room is fully bright all sorts of training equipment can be see from dummies, batarangs and even a AR headset that once put on lets the user see actual enemies right in front of them to practice and hone their skills in a safe way

''Oh my god all of this stuff is insane, who even designed all of this??''

                                       Robin

''If I told you that I'd have to kill you, we're not on that level yet Barbara''

Robin jokes not wanting to give away who actually makes the tech for what he and Batman do night in night out

''Over the years I have moved various things from the bat-cave to here all under Bruce's nose''

                        Barbara Gordon

''You set up all of this?? it's seriously impressive looking''

                         Robin

''Bruce doesn't gotta know everything right??'' 

The smile grew wider and wider on Barbara's face as she continued to explore the area, she knew that soon enough it would be hard work and all under the instruction of Robin

        Barbara Gordon

''Okay so how do we start this??''

Robin

''Well first we got to set up the dummies that will be your targets''

Robin using the main computer in the room sets up what will become Barbara's main training hub while under his instruction. 

Robin 

''Next you will suit up with this protective gear, it's nothing truly amazing but it'll get the job done for the time being''

Barbara takes the gear from the same table as the main computer, she put it on and Robin was right it was very basic featuring a dull colored chest piece with some pads for both knees and elbows , she put it all on and was set for her very first piece of combat

     Barbara 

''Okay I'm ready''

                                                       Robin

''Now first off the dummy is going to be mobile, it can't hurt you but this is a test of endurance and focus, keep your mind trained on the target and land some blows where and when you can''

The dummy rushes into position on Robin's command putting Barbara immediately on the defense, she moves around the target her eyes never once leaving it just like Robin said, her first punch is quick and efficient as is her second with her mind never once losing focus

                                                              Robin

''Okay that's good Barbara but remember real opponents won't just fight back they will play dirty too which is why you always got to be on the move while in the field, there is a strict no killing rule so while you must pull your punches do what you think is necessary to knock out your adversary''

Barbara continued to pick apart the dummy practicing for well over an hour until she was totally spent

''That was amazing Dick, I feel tired but incredible, is this how you feel out there every night with Batman??, I'm trying not to get too excited I know this is only our first session but wow this feels remakrable''

                                                             Robin

''Don't let it go to your head Babs, I know what this feeling is like it's amazing for sure but you got to keep your head and focus that and that alone is one of the most important things I can teach you as Bruce thought me early on''

Barbara nodded as she removed the gear she looked at her phone it was almost 11pm she has until midnight to get home as she promised her dad she would be home by then

''Damn it's 11pm I got to be home by midnight''

   Robin

''How come??

                                                           Barbara Gordon

''I promised my dad I'd be home by midnight, he doesn't know I'm doing anything like this just thinks I'm meeting a friend''

Robin nods as the two exit the building with all of the lights shutting off as they step outside, Robin shuts the doors and locks them before offering Barbara a ride home

''You know if you want I can take you home Barbara?? or at least close enough to home?? it's on my own way home anyways so it'd be no trouble really''

                      Barbara Gordon

''Really?? thank you Dick that would be amazing''

Robin smiles a little before nodding signalling Barbara to get on his motorbike, they both get on with Barbara holding onto Robin's waist as he drives off almost instantly

''You know Dick I've been thinking about a name for you..and well I think I got something that's so much better than that plain awful name you had the night you saved me you remember that??''

                                                       Robin

''I remember me telling you that it was a temporary name but sure, what do you got for me??

         Barbara Gordon 

''Okay here goes..Nightwing!''

Robin didn't respond immediately instead he took in what Barbara just said before then responding

                                       Robin 

''Nightwing huh?? not bad Babs..not bad at all''

Barbara laughed on the back of the bike

     Barbara Gordon

''You hate it don't you??''

                           Robin 

''No not at all it's actually really good..Nightwing''

Robin loved the name and while he had not decided on anything yet it was a clear contender for the name of his new solo project,the rest of the ride to just before Barbara's home was quite silent but also a sense of respect between both was brewing threw the air, Robin pulled his bike to a stop and let Barbara off

                                                       Barbara Gordon

''Thank you Dick...for everything you and Bruce have done for me so far, I really do appreciate it and please be honest with him about wanting to do things on your own before it's too late and he finds out because him finding out without you being honest and upfront about it will hurt him, he'll make it seem like it won't but it will, you know that more than anyone''

Robin nods agreeing with Barbara's words

''You're right it's just about finding the right moment given everything currently ongoing but I will be honest with Bruce he deserves it after all he has sacrificed for me''

Robin starts up his bike again and drives off leaving Barbara all alone but her house wasn't far infact she even makes it home with a half hour to spare, she walks in the front door to find Leslie Thompkins and her dad still inside talking over a bottle of wine

''Ah Barbara you're home, have a good evening with your friend??''

                                Barbara Gordon

''Yeah actually I did and I can see you two had a great evening also''

Barbara points at the bottle of wine before walking to her bedroom

                                                          Leslie Thompkins

''You know I think me staying here this late is kind of awkward for her Jim, I should go home we can meet up again tomorrow for coffee''

Jim groaned and yawned a little before responding

                              Jim Gordon 

''You're probably right, and sure coffee sounds good''

Jim walks Leslie to the door closing it as she leaves, he turns around and instead of going to his own bedroom he knocks on Barbara's door

''Hey kiddo I hope I'm not interrupting anything''

                                    Barbara Gordon

''You know dad you can stop calling me kiddo I'm not 6 years old anymore''

                                                                 Jim Gordon

''Of course..you've really grown up so fast you're still that little girl in my mind.., anyways I just wanted to say goodnight and also I hope you are okay with Leslie staying this late, it won't be a permanent thing we just lost track of time and such''

''It's all good dad I understand and I'm happy for you both I really am''

Jim smiled at Barbara's response

''Okay good..well goodnight I love you''

''Love you too''

Jim shuts Barbara's bedroom door and enters his own bedroom, back across Gotham and Bruce Wayne is still at the bat-cave still pondering over the letter Barbara had gotten earlier that morning

''I just can't wrap my head around this letter Alfred, who apart from Vengeance would know that Barbara is involved but even then she kind of isn't she was brought here as I was concerned about her actions..I just don't understand''

Bruce groans resting his head in his hands

''Perhaps it's time to call it a night Master Bruce you've been here all day attempting to solve this you too need sleep sir''

''Perhaps you're right Alfred, have my bed made up and I will join you in a few minutes''

''As you wish sir''

As Alfred prepared to leave the bat-cave he was called back by Bruce who had something to show him

''Wait a moment Alfred check this out..I can't believe I missed this but look at the writing on the note Barbara got, I swear I've seen this writing before somewhere''

''It doesn't look very distinct sir who do you think it could be??''

Bruce scurried through notes on the bat-computer and eventually pulled up a file on Thomas Elliot, in it was notes and various letters he had gotten from him over the years but most importantly was the hand writing which when analyzed further immediately proves Bruce's theory right..Thomas Elliot is working with Vengeance

''What is it sir??'' 

Bruce points at the screen showing Alfred exactly what he means while also beginning to explain his theory

''This writing on the note Barbara recieved is the exact same writing as Thomas Elliot, you see this is an old hand written letter I got from him shortly after his parents died thanking me for my support..I can't believe I didn't seen this before but it's an identical match right down to the little crosses his T's..this is huge Alfred, could Tommy really have been working with Vengeance all this time and if so why did he directly lie to mine and Dick's faces this morning??

''This is not good at all sir, if that is the case Mr Elliot surely has already informed Vengeance of what you met about, shall I inform Master Grayson and Ms Gordon about this development sir?

''No not right now Alfred I'll discuss it with Dick in the morning he deserves a night off after all he has been through lately as for Barbara she's with Jim leave it be until tomorrow thank you though.

''As you wish sir..but I must ask how do you plan to proceed with this newfound information??

                         Bruce Wayne

''I think it's time Batman paid Thomas Elliot a visit''

''Are you sure that's wise sir?? he might not be alone''

                           Bruce Wayne

''Oh I'm counting on that being the case Alfred''

Bruce stands up from the bat-computer and suits up, racing off in the bat-mobile a bevy of emotions rang inside of him from anger to disgust to disappointment and even shame, could his one time best friend have really betrayed not just hm but the entire Wayne name and legacy??

''I have to do this alone Dick doesn't need to know about tonight, tonight is the Batman's night to really try and turn the tables''

As Batman's mind raced with thoughts the bat-phone began to ring it was Alfred, Batman answered his call

''Alfred I'm almost at Tommy's apartment building, is there anything wrong??

                                             Alfred Pennyworth

''Nothing is wrong sir just thought I would wish you good luck I know this must be hard for you but please tread carefully don't let your emotions run away with you''

                                                                Batman 

''Don't worry Alfred tonight the only Vengeance on show will be Elizabeth being brought to justice''

The bat-mobile came to a halt outside of Thomas Elliot's building, Batman jumped out and instead of entering through the front door which was locked The Dark Knight made his way around the back, he opened his utility belt and took out his latest grapple gadget that was entirely new this being it's first night in the field, Batman pointed it at the top room of the building and glided right up to the window of Thomas Elliot's office, using another gadget he lockpicks the window getting inside he is met with papers, files and documents tossed everywhere like there had been a scuffle not long before he arrived, once fully inside Batman turned on his detective vision inside of his cowl which allowed him to coommunicate with Alfred back at the bat-cave

''Alfred are you seeing this?? is communication clear??''

                                                        Alfred Pennyworth

''Communication is live and clear sir it looks like someone was either in a hurry or quite the disagreement took place''

Batman makes his way further into the office not noticing anything out of the ordinary that is until he comes across a false drawer in Thomas Elliot's desk, pressing the button located right underneath the table the drawer opened revealing something quite startling'' 

             Batman 

''Alfred are you seeing this??

                                    Alfred Pennyworth

''I am sir and if that is what I think it is this is quite troubling indeed''

Batman looking into the drawer saw nothing suspsicious until he moved some things around, he was surprised to find a mask belonging to none other than The Court of Owls a mysterious group who have run Gotham in the shadows for centuries, was Thomas Elliot a member?? or was this Vengeance's doing?? 

                                                                 Batman 

''Could Tommy really be apart of the Court of Owls?? I know we've had dealings with them in the past and they pretty much know everything about Gotham and 'The Batman' but this..well this would be quite serious Alfred, The Court are dangerous I hope Tommy knows what he is doing, especially if he knows that Bruce Wayne is Batman that could really be the beginning of the end of this crusade''

''Agreed sir let's hope Mr Elliot isn't just there to get revenge after all he has been known to court power above everything else, I think it'd be for the best if you came back sir let us go over this in the bat-cave with Master Grayson''

Batman agreed and put the mask back where it belonged shut the drawer and left leaving the window in as much of the same state as he did when entering, he was soon back in the bat-mobile heading back to the bat-cave, upon returning he got out of the car removed his cowl and took his seat at the bat-computer as Alfred poured him a cup of tea to try and calm the entire situation down

         Bruce Wayne 

''Did you ring Dick Alfred??

                                                 Alfred Pennyworth

''I did sir but unfortunately he can't make it tonight he had some other plans but he will be here in the morning, with that being said perhaps we should also pack it in for the night?? it's been a long day and what you just learned well it must be quite the shock to your system given your history with Mr Elliot''

                                                          Bruce Wayne

''Other plans huh?? okay I guess we'll see him in the morning then, before we do pack up for the night I was thinking about something on the way home, what if Tommy's parents were also a part of the Court of Owls and that's how Tommy is apart of this?? his parents death has and always will be a mystery to me so maybe just maybe Tommy was involved??''

          Alfred Pennyworth

''What are you saying exactly sir??''

                                                       Bruce Wayne

''I'm saying I think Tommy Elliot killed his parents...or at least had some hand in their murder''

Alfred taken aback by Bruce's words finished his cup of tea mulling over the thought

''Do you really think he is capable of such a horrific act??'' 

                                                       Bruce Wayne

''5 years of doing this Alfred we've seen men become monsters, freaks dressed like clowns and the honest words of a man prove to be nothing but dishonest ones I think anything is possible in Gotham don't you??''

                                                    Alfred Pennyworth

''I guess I would say that I have to agree 5 years of your crusade has shown us pretty much anything can and will happen even if that does mean a famous son of Gotham turned out to be a murderer...with that being said sir what are you going to do next then??''

                                                         Bruce Wayne

''I'm going to get some sleep and tomorrow will be the defining moment in the career of the Batman..if Tommy gets in my way I'll apprehend him but I'm going to stop Vengeance once and for all you can be sure of that''

Night took over Gotham City as Wayne Enterprises is shown inside Vengeance sits atop her throne which just so happens to be in Bruce Wayne's office she ponders how to get the Batman's attention

''You know Tommy I think tomorrow is going to be the best day ever, the Wayne name will finally be destroyed, Batman will no longer be a thorn in the underbelly Gotham and I will take my place as the head of this famiy rightfully claiming MY city''

Thomas Elliot looks on with a smug look on his face

''Before we even begin however we need some heavy security call in anyone you know who can help, Batman can't and shouldn't be underestimated we need to have the upper hand at all times''

                                                          T homas Elliot

''That I can do, I've got pretty much everyone in this city with any importance under my thumb after all''

Thomas calls in some backup and it's not long before Wayne Enterprises is guarded to the extreme with Thomas even calling in Deadshot once again to perch above the very top of Wayne HQ as his own sniper with his own view of the entire city

''It's done, I've even called in Lawton again after his antics at the Monarch Theater he needs to redeem himself before he even thinks about being able to live a free life''

Morning in Gotham it's like a painting, full of clouds yet the sun seepes through ever so slightly, Barbara Gordon is seen waking up in her room, she checks her phone and sees a message from Dick a smile forms on her face as she opens it''

                                    Robin (Message)

''Training session #2 tonight, same time same place see you then''

Barbara removed herself from her bed, got dressed and went into the kitchen to make breakfast but upon exiting her room she seems someone in the kitchen it's her dad and Leslie again, did she stay over?? if so how?? Barbara closes her door to alert them before walking into the kitchen

''Good morning, oh Leslie it's good to see you again''

                                                 Jim Gordon

''Good morning and yes isn't it?? Leslie just arrived and she brought coffee and pastries''

Barbara smiled as she took one of the cups of coffee and sipped on it

''I know you to have had it kinda rough lately so I thought I'd start your morning right I hope you don't mind Barbara''

Barbara shakes her head signalling it's not a problem as she continues to drink her coffee

''It's fine really, like I said last night I'm happy for you both and besides I have class today and I am meeting with my 'friend' again tonight so you'll both have the place to yourselves''

''You're going out again?? that friend must be pretty special huh?? I would say you know the rules but I'm well aware you're on top of all that''

                                                         Barbara Gordon

''Yeah I guess you could say he is pretty special, and yes I know be home by midnight I got it dad''

Jim smiled as he and Leslie sat down to breakfast, Barbara returned to her room to properly prepare for the day ahead, she closed the bedroom door behind her and got dressed sitting down on her bed she replied to Robin stating that she would be there as planned later that night but for now it was time for her to attend class and as she waved goodbye to Leslie and Jim she left her home with a small smile on her face at this point in time all she wanted to do was to continue training but class was important too, Barbara ends up taking the bus to school and as it rushes past Wayne Enterprises she notices that security has become pretty heavy since the last time she saw it what could that be for she thought?? she pulled out her phone to text Dick just incase it was something Bruce wasn't aware of.

''So I'm just passing by Wayne Enterprises and security is tight..I mean like super tight both outside and what looked like inside too, is Bruce planning something??''

The text message sends and as Dick's phone alerts him as he is making his way to Wayne Manor on his bike, pulling off to the side he reads the text messages before replying to Barbara

Dick is seen entering the bat-cave on his bike, he removes his helmet and makes his way to the bat-computer where he sees what Batman was looking at, he notices Batman's findings of The Court of Owls being possibly involved in everything but just as he attempts to investigate Bruce and Alfred enter the cave startling Dick as he quickly turns around in the chair

Dick explains everything to Bruce and Alfred, how Barbara spotted tight security at Wayne Enterprises and how she immediately messaged Dick about it

Dick and Alfred looked on in amazement Bruce was not one to show his emotions all that much especially as much as he just did

Dick moved by Bruce's words just nods reluctantly in agreement much to his own dismay

Dick nods and dials Barbara's number on his phone, Barbara who is about to enter school answers almost right away with a polite greeting to Dick

''Yeah that's actually why I rang Bruce is here he wants to talk to you''

Dick hands the phone to Bruce who greets Barbara before getting down to the nitty and gritty

Barbara hastily tries to recall everything she saw just a few minutes previous

''Of course Bruce well I saw 2 security by the main entrance way, another 2 on each side of the building away from the entrance and what looked to be a sniper at the very top of the building all heavily armed too, I hope this helps?? also I know I shouldn't be asking but is Dick okay??''

The phone cut off as Bruce hung up without Barbara beng able to even reply, Bruce hands Dick his phone back and sits down at the bat-computer mulling over the info he just recieved, Barbara who was just about to enter her classroom was confused by Bruce just hanging up on her but she knew it would have to wait until later, it was now time for her lessons

Bruce makes his way to the bat-computer preparing it for a live broadcast, he signals for Alfred and Dick to leave the cave to which they do making there way to the elevator both heading back upstairs leaving Bruce to take a deep breath before he begins..

''Hello people of Gotham City I'm sure by now you know who I am but for those who are watching and don't maybe know my name is Bruce but more importantly I am a Wayne, and recently that name has sort of become somewhat tainted by the vile words of someone who calls themselves Vengeance, well I am here to today to ask you the people firstly for forgiveness for what my family done in the past and secondly to give myself up to this Vengeance in a bid to end this once and for all..so with all of  that being said I will officially give myself up outside of my own company building Wayne Enterprises at 3pm today, thank you citizens of Gotham''

Soon as Bruce went live to the City pretty much everyone's phones got notified including Barbara who was in class, Alfred and Dick who were in the upstairs living quarters and the people at Gotham City News who were right on the case and had the broadcast on the air live, Elizabeth and Thomas Elliot still sit atop Wayne Enterprises and watch the broadcast in full left afterwards to ponder what to do next

Thomas Elliott nodded and did as requested he spoke to Floyd Lawton and instructed him to meet Bruce Wayne downstairs outside of the building and bring him directly to Vengeance who was waiting for the final showdown with her brother

Floyd Lawton just nods in agreement before leaving his perch atop Wayne Enterprises, it wasn't long before it was nearing 3pm and already floods of media and press had descended upon Wayne Enterprises with Gotham City News even bringing a chopper which flew close to the building itself attempting to get any type of look inside

''This is Vicky Vale reporting for Gotham City News we're here at Wayne Enterprises where any moment now Bruce Wayne is supposed to appear and in his own words surrender himself to this Vengeance character for the better of Gotham City, is there more going on here?? or is this just all some sort of PR stunt?? well we're live and on the scene with any updates as soon as we get them so stay tuned''

With Wayne Enterprises becoming a media hotspot back at the bat-cave Bruce Wayne is seen preparing to leave in what could be the most daring and challenging moment in his career thus far it's make or break for so many reasons, he wishes Alfred and Dick farewell places something into his back pocket and leaves the cave by entering the elevator which takes him upstairs, he makes his way out the back of Wayne Manor where a small old time car waiting for him, Bruce enters and drives slowly to Wayne Enterprises a journey he so often made without little to no care in the world but this..this was different, as he approaches the building all cameras direct their vision onto him as he exits the car closing the door behind him, Bruce fixes his suit and does as he said he walks to the entrance of Wayne Enterprises stepping a few feet back from the doorway

As Bruce continues to wait the doors of Wayne Enterprises finally swing open and Floyd Lawton emerges, he handcuffs Bruce Wayne as the two share a tiny exchange

Floyd Lawton doesn't respond doing as Thomas Elliot had told him, do not engage with Bruce as he leads him to the main offices where Vengeance awaited and it wasn't long before Bruce was finally face to face with hs so called 'sister' once again who was waring her mask with Thomas Ellliot by her side

Bruce smirks as his handcuffs are removed by Floyd Lawton who notices something in Bruce's back pocket but doesn't say a word

Deadshot once again does as he's told and leaves the room leaving Bruce Wayne Vengeance and Thomas Elliot alone in a room for the very first time

Vengeance once again flicks her butterfly knife about before responding

Bruce's interest is peaked at the our little secret mention but his focus is soon shifted once again as Elizabeth pulls out a matchbook strikes a match against the main office desk table and holds it in place

''While you tried to figure out everything Bruce I took it upon myself to have this entire building doused in pertrol including this office, one drop of a match and it goes up in flames..This city, this building the Wayne family name and legacy will all be reborn in the name of VENGEANCE''

Vengeance drops the lit match as Bruce and Tommy both try to rush towards her to stop it from escaping her fingertips but they're unsuccessful and within mere seconds a fire breaks out in the office

''Enjoy the rebirth, embrace it and a new Gotham will arise and it's in footsteps a better Wayne will be sitting on it's throne''

Vengeance who was already behind the flames disappears into the shadows but that was the least of Bruce's worries as Tommy Elliot rused after her only to be blown backwards into the room by an explosion of the highest order

Bruce rushes to his childhood friends side but he is already too late as flames have engulfed his face damaging the skin

The scream of pain coming from Thomas Elliot barely echo in the room as the fire only gets bigger and more fierce, Bruce having put out the fire on Tommy sits next to him in a huddle as the fire is shown on Gotham News with Vicky Vale once again on the scene reporting it all live to the rest of the city, just at that moment Deadshot comes back into the room and begins to help Bruce and Tommy as the flames begin to roar and get rowdy more and more by the second

''This is Vicky Vale once again reporting from outside Wayne Enterprises as a giant fire has seemingly taken foothold inside of the building, no word on if Bruce Wayne or anyone else is still inside but if they are it certainly doesn't look good right now''

Back at the bat-cave and Alfred and Dick are seen watching the news hoping and praying for any sort of update, it doesn't take long however for Dick to stand up and tell Alfred that he is going to Wayne Enterprises to try and locate and bring Bruce back home

''I know Alfred but this isn't just some physical situation Bruce can fight his way out of who knows how bad the fire inside has spread I have to go and try to get Bruce and whoever else may be inside out of there before anything catastrophic happens''

As Dick rushes to grab his Robin gear and put it on he is stopped by Alfred at the elevator entrance

Robin nods and takes the elevator up out of the bat-cave into Wayne Manor as across the city Barbara who is just finishing up a class gets a message alert from not only Dick but her father too, Jim Gordon is on high alert even though he is supposed to be healing up at home, Barbara checks her phone to find out exactly what is happening and she is horrified to see the Wayne Enterprises building on fire with a live feed being broadcast throughout the city including the home of Jim Gordon who is still with Dr Leslie Thompkins

''This is bad Leslie, real bad, Barbara won't answer her phone and now Wayne Enterprises is on fire with Bruce Wayne possibly inside still''

''Calm down Jim I'm sure Barbara is still in class and she will respond ASAP, also as your doctor I advise you to let the GCPD and it's acting commisioner Kate Kane handle this situation''

Jim nods in agreement but the two are interuppted by Jim's GCPD repsonder with Renee Montoya on the other side asking for all units to get to Wayne Enterprises, Jim picks up the responder and replies

''Commissioner?? aren't you supposed to be taking it easy and y'know not lending a hand until you're fully recovered''

''Yeah, yeah I know but it's Barbara she's not home yet and I'm just worried she might get caught up in all of this somehow, just please make sure if she is there..keep her safe Montoya''

As Jim and Montoya's disccusion comes to a close on the news a bike is seen flying into the center of the screen directly outside of Wayne Enterprises, off steps Robin who walks up towards the flaming building as the news report from Vicki Vale continues

''Breaking news Gotham we now have Robin one half of Batman and Robin attempting to some how get inside Wayne Enterprises?? no sign of Batman himself you'd think he would be here too but alas it's Robin who appears to be not going through the front but around the back of the building just what is he up to?? stay with us people of Gotham for any further developments''

Robin makes his way around the back of Wayne Enterprises and uses an old entrance that Bruce taught him about a few years back, once insinde he is able to grapple up the elevator shaft which is in really rough shape, as he gets closer to the top floor and Bruce Wayne's office the flames burst out threw one of the doors leading into the main office area this in turn led to to Robin shouting out asking if anyone was there

''Hello?? is there anyone inside?? even if there isn't I'm coming in so either way stay where you are help is on the way''

Bruce, Thomas Elliot and even Deadshot all hear Robin shout out but stay put as the flames now totally engulf the office forming a barrier of blazing hot flames between the exit out into the main foyer area where Robin is now fastly approaching

''I saw what was in your pocket while I was removing your handcuffs, I know who or what that thing represents hell in this line of business you gotta know who holds all the playing cards''

Bruce's response is cut off when when Robin enters the room leaping through the flames using his cape as a shield to protect himself from getting too badly burned, he is shocked to see Bruce Wayne and Thomas Elliott but more importantly Deadshot the man who recently shot him while he and Batman were tracking down Vengeance, all four are now together in the room but no sign of Venegeance''

''Wow I guess three really is a crowd hih?? I can't wait to tell Batman all about this''

''So where is Vengeance? I'm guessing it was them who caused this fire?? well regardless we need to get out of there because it's looking pretty bad, I've contacted the GCPD and the Gotham Fire Service so they should be here soon but we don't wanna go losing two of Gotham's favorite sons now do we?? let's get going!

Bruce helps Thomas Elliot up who is still in some pain as his flesh and skin is beginning to bubbble and turn a deep reddish color, Deadshot helps Bruce carry Tommy Elliot as Robin leads the way out of the room, back outside and GCPD and the Fire Services arrive on the scene as the air begins to thin out and smoke takes it's place making it difficult to breathe, a bus is seen stopping across the street from Wayne Enterprises and off stops Barbara Gordon who had seen the blaze from inside of the the bus mere seconds earlier she lets the bus pass her before crossing the road stopping right outside of the building as GCPD officers and other resuce services rush around her she hears a voice calling out to her

''Well I was going home until I saw the fire on the bus from a few hundered feet back what exactly happened there's nobody in there right??

Barbara looked at Renee with a look of concern but also tried to play it straightfaced

''Well I'm sure you saw Bruce Wayne heading in there earlier right?? he was broadcasting live to the entire city as for anyone else well I'm guessing this Vengeance character but they aren't alone Robin went inside earlier on his own to get them out''

Barabaras heart dropped, her worried state was confirmed when Renee Montoya said Robin had gone inside to try and save Bruce and whoever else may need help from the fire

Barbara tries to rush forward attemping to get inside the building but is blocked by Renee Montoya

''Whoa there kid that is no place for a college student just let us do our job here and I'm sure Robin will be out soon c'mon let's get out of this thick smoke you need something to drink?? let's go get something and I'll inform your dad that you're here with me''

Renee Montnoya leads Barbara away from the main building and into a store located a few feet down the road, she informs Jim that Barbara is safe with her and that the situation is slowly but surely being put under control by both the GCPD and Gotham Fire services paramedics were also on site to offer any assistance

Deadshot walks off into the bowels of the city leaving Bruce and Robin with Thomas Elliot who they help over to a nearby ambulance and explain what happened to him he is almost immediatly wrapped in banagedes with his head and chest being the most affected areas, Bruce shakes the paramedics hand and says that he will be in to see Tommy tomorrow morning as he is then pulled over to a quiet spot by Robin asking what exactly happened inside with Vengeance but they two are interrupted by Babara Gordon who saw everything just unfold on the news

Robin leads Barbara to his bike which he had stashed earlier across the street from Wayne Enterprises

Barbara nods and gets on the bike after Robin holding onto his waist tightly as he starts the engine and takes off slowly

''I have no idea other than a fire either broke out or was started by someone my guess would be Vengeance who was nowhere to be seen, man seeing Thomas Elliot in such a horrible state with all those burns and scars was pretty terrifying to witness up close, I hope Bruce is okay Vengeance is in the wind and his childhood friend is pretty badly burned''

''What so Vengeance just starts a fire and leaves? that makes no sense Dick, there's gotta be more to it than that''

Robin shakes his head as they arrive close to Barbara's house and the bike comes to a complete stop, Robin removes his helmet so he can speak to Barbara who was now standing in front of him he touches her hand ever so softly and begins to speak

''Whatever Vengeance is planning now we'll figure it out me Bruce, Alfred and you..if anything happened to you tonight I don't know how I would've felt seeing you safe with Officer Montoya when I came outside was such a sense of relief you know?? you mean a lot to me Babs''

Barbara without hesistation leans in and kisses Robin in a pasionate embrace of explosive porportions

Barbara pushes Dick's shoulder with her hand in a playful manner as the two said goodnight to one another and promised to meet up again as soon as Barbara entered home Robin sped off in the direction of Wayne Manor

Barbara notices that Dr Thompkins wasn't around and that her dad was on his own

As the night gets closer to drawing to it's end Robin is seen arrivng back at the bat-cave where Bruce and Alfred are already inside seemingly await his arrival because they stop talking the moment he gets off his bike

Dick looked at Bruce's face with his mouth almost wide open in pure shock as he told him what happened minute by minute, he told him about Deadshot helping and how Thoms Elliot was severly scared on his head and chest by the flames

''Well right now we're going to have tea with Alfred upstairs and then a rebulding process begins, one of the Wayne name and legacy, one of the Batman and this project of mine, I have to make the people of Gotham believe in the Wayne name again and Batman needs to become something more, something fierce and undeniable and with Barbara Gordon joining the fray y'know what?? I have a feeling we're going to change this city for the better and I'm going to make my parents proud''

The final image is Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson entering the elevator which takes them directly up and into the Wayne Manor foyer as the city of Gotham and the legend of the Batman have seemingly changed forever
