Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Mutant Mayhem review
From the mind of Seth Rogen comes a very different version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which is very much a origin story as the Turtle are indeed teenagers and it shows in both their actions and how they want to be hero's more than anything in the world. The story begins with a scientist who is responsible for creating a mysterious mutant creating green ooze that is heavily sought after by people who of course want to do harm with it. When said scientist flees his lab he leaves a vial of ooze behind that falls into the sewers which is wear the Turtles and a young Master Splinter just to happen to be at that time. Splinter ends up taking the four Turtles into his care and begins to train them but he tells them that the human world above is off limits. This leads to them going on the journey of a lifetime above the sewers meeting a new friend and a lot of enemies along the way.
Right off the bat I got to say that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Mutant Mayhem is an absolute blast to just sit and watch. The chemistry between the Turtles is fantastic and very relatable especially to a younger audience of the same age. The banter between them is just so good and so funny and perfectly showcases this teenage side of them spot on. Along the way they do meet April O' Neil and she too is great here playing the part of their only human friend and it shows as the care between them is very real and very organic.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Mutant Mayhem is easily one of the best movies of the year. It's a fresh and exciting direction for the Turtles and is downright hilarious at times. Arguably my favorite animated movie this year by far which has even surprised me. It has everything you'd want from a Turtles movie and a animated family movie. This is one you just must go and see!
