The Flash 8x3 : Armageddon, Part three review
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.
After a truly epic of The Flash last week in part two of the Armageddon Crossover Event can this weeks episode be just as good?? the episode opens up where we ended last week with Barry seen talking to Jefferson Pierce (Black Lightning) after saying ''Injustice'' at the end of last weeks we find out here that Injustice is actually a sort of code word for a protocol that involves stopping a fellow hero by any means necessary. It's very much like how Batman has contingency plans for stopping any Justice League members from going completely rogue. Turns however that the plan for stopping Barry involves taking his speed from him. He wants Jefferson to perform this deed after all everyone involved in this universe's proto Justice League agreed to these terms and conditions no matter what they are. Jefferson ultimately agrees to this and the two get to work on helping Black Lightning gather enough energy to take The Flash's speed. In the mean time we're back in Central City and are put right in the middle of a team meeting. Iris soon enters the room with some new information on Joe and how she thinks Barry is being framed. Cecil obviously shuts her down here and the two come to blows a bit especially when Iris showcases her findings of footage that seems to show Joe disappearing a split second before a train ran him over on it's tracks. Could someone actually be framing Barry by driving him to the point of breaking leading to the destruction he will seemingly cause in the future??
So with Iris and Cecil at odds the team is split into two for a bit as Cecil goes about finding Barry in her own way while Iris and Alegra do some investigating at the Train Station where Joe was killed in a accident. Upon some investigation Iris seems to have given up on it all but when she notices some form of energy on the train tracks she meets up with the Still Force Dion. More on that in a bit however. Back with Cecil now and after talking with Caitlin and Chester she learns that in order to find Barry she will need someone to help her locate him with their minds and powers all thanks to a power boost that is on par with Despero as he too is looking for Barry. Cecil ends up going to the villain Top for help who is now just a regular hustler. She could've done a lot more after what happened with the original Mirror Master but alas nothing. She does agree to help Cecil and in short they do end up locating Barry whom is at the Hall of Justice but Despero is not far behind them in fact he just flat out uses them to find Barry. He does however end up almost killing Top but Cecil gets the better of him which while stupid made sense as it was to do with her not wanting to let go of Joe.
The episode draws to a close at the Hall of Justice where Jefferson is seen taking the speed from Barry via his own electricity powers. It's taking some time so while during a bit of a cool down Barry tells him what exactly is happening, why it is happening and how in the future he destroys the world. Barry's words don't go down well with Jefferson who accuses him of quitting and giving into the villain Despero. The two hero's end up getting into a bit of a scrap here which leads to some destruction within the Hall of Justice. They in fact end up destroying the cabinet that houses the suit and belongings to Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) speaking of Oliver Jefferson talks to Barry about him and mentions how Oliver sacrificed himself for Barry because he knew he was the best of them all. Oliver was not a quitter and neither is Barry. Barry who is now very weakened finally comes to see some sense here and agrees with Jefferson. Despero soon shows up however and grabs Barry by the neck stating that he would end him if he felt his mind slipping which happened in last weeks episode. Barry ends up getting saved by Dion, Iris and Black Lightning as Dion restores some of The Flash's power and tells him that he needs to go to the future to see who or what has seemingly framed him for everything that has happened thus far. The Flash rushes into a portal and appears in the year 2031. Despero vanishes right in front of Black Lightning, Dion and Iris but not before stating that they've all certainly doomed the planet. The main talking point of this episode happens at the end here in 2031 as The Flash arrives and stands in the middle of the road. In the distance he spots a sign that reads ''Private Event'' for West. Barry is then seen walking into the building and pretty much everyone he knows is present including some surprises including Ryan Wilder, Ryan Choi and more. But most importantly is Harrison Wells who is married to Iris West? huh?? when Barry is spotted by Ryan Wilder she says what is he doing here as the entire room turns round to look at him in pure disgust. What is happening here?? well it's obvious. All of this is The Reverse Flash's doing right?? it certainly looks that way and it'd make perfect sense. He has always wanted a life like The Flash's and right here it looks like he has gotten it. A perfect life, wife, friends and family. The episode ends right there and then and as a whole this episode was a tad disappointing. The worst part of the crossover easily but that's not to say the episode was truly terrible because it wasn't, by any means. In fact it felt like a nice bridge that is connecting the first two episodes to the last two parts of the crossover. After an ending like this episode I really can't wait to see what happens next and that's always a good thing.
