Legends Of Tomorrow 7x4 : Speakeasy Does It review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

After last weeks 100 episode of Legends of Tomorrow can this weeks episode be a good follow up or will the Legends flounder in 1925 Chicago?? the episode opens up in 1925 Chicago and thanks to some pretty heavy tipping by Gary the Legends are running very low on money. With only 35 dollars remaining and a train to catch not to mention the police hot on the trail of the Bullet Blondes what can the Legends do?? well first things first both Ava and Sara need to ditch the blonde hair and they do so by buying some wigs. They enter a store which sells all manner of stuff. They end up getting some wigs but as the owner is rude to Zari he reluctantly agrees to help them get away from the police who are very close to finding them. With Ava and Sara now sporting different hair colors when they leave the store through the back door they end up in an alleyway. Down this alleyway they all argue for a bit but end up getting interrupted by a man who owns a bar. He asks for the password to get in which turns out to be the word password which while was supposed to be funny just really wasn't. But that being said it's the only bad thing about this episode truth be told.

The Legends get welcomed inside of the bar which is a speakeasy according to Nate. It's pretty empty with not many people present. The owner a man named Eddie is not exactly racking in money. He has very little booze and runs the business on a day to day business. It's not long before the Legends take over the speakeasy as Behrad takes to the stage to play guitar alongside the performing act while Zari is talking to Eddie at the bar. Things begin to take a good turn for Eddie as Sara and him agree a deal of supplying booze from Constantine's fridge. What Sara wants in return is 20% of the profit and access to the storage room which is how they're supplying the booze via Constantine's place. With the money now literally rolling in the Legends are soon on their way but are called back to help when Eddie gets beat up and shut down by his boss who is apart of the mob. Outside of the bar and after Eddie is forced to get out Zari really comes into her own here as her passion to set things right really shows in a both an exciting and refreshing way. Zari asks for some time and she gets it as she puts her plan of a ''Zari Party'' into motion. While all of this is going on in Chicago we see that Spooner, Astra and Gideon are making their way to the Legends via a train. Getting on board with no train pass they get some help from a group of women who are a band. With the main woman named Maude they help our 3 Legends get by the ticket inspector. A lot of lies are told here however as Astra says she is a business manager, Spooner a vocal coach for Gideon and Gideon herself is a singer. They all get pretty close leading to Maude being freed from the grip of her boss who just so happens to also be the man who casted out Eddie. Astra even recognizes him from her time in hell stating that he is just a flat out evil man. So it's not surprising then that it is Astra who convinces Maude to leave especially so after Gideon says that Maude's body will be found dead in the river not long after this night. Maude leaves but in doing so leaves behind an empty stage performance. It leads to Gideon taking the reigns and performing and boy does she perform. She has an incredible voice here and it happens at the exact moment that Zari's Party gets a performance by The Bullet Blondes. Speaking of..

The episode draws to a close as Zari almost by herself puts together her party. With Eddie present the show goes ahead as word of mouth gets spread in Chicago by Nate and Gary. A spanner is soon thrown into the fold however as a new and improved J Edgar Hoover robot is back and on the loose looking only for the Legends. He and his goons arrive at the store where the entrance to Constantine's place lays behind a door. Hoover gets inside after a big scuffle and as he arrives the Bullet Blondes are deep in their performance which overlaps with Gideon singing. It's really well done here as both Sara and Ava incorporate Hoover in their performance pretty effortlessly. They end up strapping him to a chair as the performance ends with them kissing in front of a pretty packed crowd. The episode ends with two further developments. Firstly we're back with Astra, Spooner and Gideon who are now on the run from the mob as they finally make it to the same store the Legends were at earlier. They are no longer present but Astra does find Zari's phone which she had dropped earlier. They're too late as the Legends are now getting closer to Dr Gwen Davies before they are. The other development is that OG Zari returns as we see J Edgar Hoover still strapped to a chair. ''What did I miss'' OG Zari says as the episode ends right there. Woah this was a complete and total rush of an episode. Highly enjoyable and entertaining with that now signature Legends charm throughout. 4 episodes into season 7 and this season has been pretty much flawless thus far. Keep it up Legends!
