Legends Of Tomorrow 4x10 : The Getaway review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.

A runaway RV, legends lies outed and a heck of a lot of hilarious and dramatic moments this week's episode of Legends Of Tomorrow had it all. Beginning in Orlando 1973 we see Richard Nixon giving a speech. He starts by saying that he's a sleazebag and that he's a bad person. Usually he's lying threw his teeth as history tells but all of a sudden he's spilling the truth pretty hard. Aboard the waverider we see the legends watching his speech. They decide to go to Orlando 1973 to see exactly what is causing this sudden bout of truth telling and why. Sara and Ray dress up as doctors and get into the room where Nixon is without any real trouble which was silly but when they get there they do see that he is struck down with a truth telling complaint. Charlie enters the room and is asked to stay in the room, transform into Nixon and wait for Sara & Ray to come back. They take the real Nixon outside and along with Mona, Mick and Constantine take a RV for themselves. They hit the road and while on their journey Constantine finds out just why Nixon has been telling the truth.Turns out he's had a truth roach inside of him this whole time. A magical creature that feeds on lies until there is only truth left. Sara suggests to Mona that she place the roach in a jar and she does. But of course she punches a hole in the top of it to leave air to get inside to help the roach. Not surprisingly however the roach gets out of the jar and over the episode goes inside the mouth of all legends making them tell the truth. Constantine says he doesn't even wanna be there and doesn't trust anyone and is worries about Neron, Mick says he wants to grow out his hair and Sara lets loose on Mona as her anger and intent really built up for her throughout the episode. This leads to Mona cycling off on a bike and Sara chasing after her on foot.

Throughout this episode we get some more details on Hank Heywood's plan and why he's been treating the captive fugitives so poorly. Zari, with the help of Gary and Nora of all people learn that Hank has been using an offshore account to fund and distribute tests for the magical creatures being held at the Time Bureau. Speaking of the Time Bureau it is Hank who is now the acting director as Ava has taken some personal time to figure things out after last week's situation with Sara. Gary goes undercover as tasked by Zari and with Nora's help they find out most of Hank's plan like I said but also as they are snooping around Desmond (Constantine's lover from earlier this season and who also is inhabited by Neron) enters the room. Gary and Nora hide under a desk but Nora seems to experience something truly terrible as the camera closes in on her as she's in pain. After this she tells Gary to be careful as something isn't right. Back on the road and while Sara goes after Mona with Constantine Nate who is working with his dad now along with Zari tries his best to differ his dad from his current path which is to arrest the legends. We even get DJ Zari on the radio waves as a way to communicate with the legends while they are out on the road. All this eventually comes crumbling down however as Nate's dad learns of his son's deception and heavily pursues the legends once again. They eventually catch them where upon arrival the roach gets loose again and enters Nate. Forcing him to blab out everything about what he's been doing but also how he's really enjoyed working with his dad at the Time Bureau. He says he's felt closer to him than ever before. He even manages to convince him to let the legends go and agree to a partnership between Nate and him which was surprising. More on Sara and Mona now and after arriving at a diner Mona bumps into some Bureau agents who say all sort of horrible things about the Konane and what happened at the end of last week's episode. Mona gets angry over this and turns once again into the werewolf creature. It's also explained how she got turned and it's over the scratch she got in the mid season finale which is a perfectly acceptable explanation. She lets loose on the guards in the diner before Sara and Constantine arrive to save the day. Eventually getting her to revert to her original form Sara agrees to let her join the team but not before she says she's sorry how she treated her earlier in the episode.

The episode draws to a close back at the Time Bureau where we see Hank talking to someone. It's Desmond again (Neron) and after Hanks says he no longer wants to work with him Neron stands up and appears to suck the life force out of him. As all of this is going on we see Nora again in pain as she tries to break free from her cell. She eventually does and after getting into the room where Hank is all she sees is his lifeless body on the floor. Time Bureau agents come rushing in including Nate and they think it's Nora who has killed Hank. Neron's seemingly escaped leaving Nora to unleash a giant wave of energy taking out most guards. Nate can't believe what he sees in front of him as the episode ends. Honestly that ending was something I didn't expect but I loved it. I just loved this episode as a whole. It was funny, entertaining and dramatic when it needed to be. This is the Legends Of Tomorrow I love and while it's still not perfect it was as much a joy to watch as any episode from last season. Keep this up Legends!
