BlackKkKlasnman review
Based on true events BlackKkKlansman follows the story of Ron Stallworth. An African-American police officer from Colorado USA, who manages to successfully infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan with the help of a white surrogate who eventually ends up becoming the head of the branch. Starring Adam Driver and John David Washington BlackKkKlansman is a strong and deep delve into the cult. Directed by Spike Lee it really leaves little to the imagination as it depicts the group's history background and members and is overall a really enjoyable and interesting experience.
Both John David Washington and Adam Driver play the character Ron Stallworth. Washington does the talking over the phone to get into the Klan's good books while Driver shows up to meet the members in person. And boy oh boy are some of these members terrifying. Especially one member named Felix who is constantly on top of Ron in the flesh as he is convinced he is a jew. This leads to him becoming easily the most fascinating character throughout in my opinion as he is heavily featured throughout. The other members are also not trusting at first but after time Driver gets to meet the grand wizard himself David Duke as he is officially in listed into the cult. It's all very well made with such a fun soundtrack and witty dialogue.
BlackKkKlansman is not going to be for everyone but it offers a very interesting delve into the Ku Klux Klan that at times is horrific and others silly. The pacing throughout is really good also as the movie speeds along really well. It's also absolutely hilarious at times as characters interact with people and the ever changing world around them. Spike Lee has really knocked this one out of the park. While it isn't perfect it is damn sure near close. Brilliant!
