Supergirl 3x16 : Of Two Minds review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it

This week's episode of Supergirl begins as a mysterious sickness begins to sweep throughout National City. At the DEO it's discovered that Pestilence the 3rd World Killer has arrived but her identity remains unclear. As the mysterious sickness continues to spread throughout the city Kara Winn Jon and Alex go to City Hall the first known place of infection. The infection starts with a scratch on a person's body before going full on like a flu of some sorts. As everyone is in City Hall Imra shows up outside placing a protective barrier around the building. Kara intervenes and tells her to turn of the force field to which she does. Imra tells Kara that she plans on killing Pestilence once she is identified as it will stop her from becoming the blight in the future and killing millions of people. Kara ever the hero doesn't agree with Imra's reasoning (for the record I actually agreed with Imra in this episode) Kara tells her that she knows she can get through to the human side of Pestilence. More on this situation later. We're brought back to Lena Luthor who is still working alongside Sam in an attempt to finally stop Reign. Lena has Samantha enter a dream like state after shocking her with countless volts of electricity. Sam actually comes face to face with Reign in this dream like state and the two sides of her share some words. Reigns tells Sam that she can offer her power and control. That giving in isn't a sign of weakness. Sam comes out of the situation unharmed but does venture back in later in the episode where Reigns threatens to kill her daughter Ruby in a variety of different ways. As all this is going on Lena is attempting to find the cell that changes inside Sam whenever Reign comes alive. She of course doesn't find it and actually struggles to do so. The strain it has on Sam is really detailed as Lena rushes and races to help her friend.

More on the whole Pestilence situation now and both Winn and Alex end up getting infected with the virus. The Legion say they have a cure but it must be extracted from their DNA. Mon-El and Imra do this but the cure doesn't exactly work as it is supposed to cure blight not the virus in it's current state. Skip forward a bit and the identity of Pestilence is revealed to be a doctor named Grace Parker that Kara had actually talked to earlier in the episode. Kara Mon El and Imra go to pay her a visit just as she is about to infect more people. Kara tries to reason with her human side but she seems too far gone. This is when a big fight breaks out and it looks like Supergirl and co are going to actually subdue Pestilence but this is when Purity (2nd World Killer) arrives before flying off again with Pestilence in tow. Left behind by the World Killer however is some DNA that Brainiac-5 can use to develop a cure for Alex, Winn and everyone else.
The episode ends as we see Lena and Sam who are still trying to deny Reign from breaking free. Sam seems distant and says 'they are coming' a obvious reference to the other 2 World Killers. And this is when Pestilence and Purity show up to ultimately join forces with Reign. But before all this happens Kara Mon-El Imra and Jon arrive and Kara learns of Reigns true identity. I thought her reaction would be a lot more heartfelt or at least emotional as she did once fight her 'friend' in Sam. But nonetheless this was a really good follow up to last week's episode. This show has been really good this season for the most part and this episode was just another reason why. Keep on flying high Kara!
