Arrow 6x13 : The Devil's Greatest Trick review
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it
Another week and another very solid episode of Arrow. This week's episode begins as Oliver and Dig are infiltrating one of Cayden James's warehouses only for him to appear on multiple screens throughout the room warning them of his imminent bomb threat. The episode really gets underway as we're treated to some flashbacks to 18 months before present day as Cayden who was working with Helix at the time struggles to balance his work life which as he says is top secret and his personal life more importantly his relationship with his 18 year old son. His son plays basketball for his team at school and Cayden keeps missing the games due to his heavy work load. His son tells him that he can't choose to keep his work life private from him to which Cayden agrees and he tells his son he will definitely attend his next game to which he does but while outside looking in through this massive wall of glass 2 members of security show up and arrest him on the top (these turn out to be 2 ARGUS agents) and Cayden is placed in that same container that Felicity agrees to help Helix reclaim in season 5. More on Cayden later.
Back onto the team now and we're treated to Dinah kicking some serious ass as she steps up her pursuit of Black Siren after she killed Vince in last week's episode. This causes major friction between her Rene and Curtis to the point where all 3 are just plain annoying in my opinion. Constant whining and complaining it's just really getting old and I wish the team would just fully get back together and be done with this whole 2 team situation. Back at the bunker and Felicity and the hacker from Helix decode the video from last week and it turns out Cayden James's son was murdered by a hitman ordered by a member of Cayden's team. This is revealed at the end of the episode to be Ricardo Diaz (Dragon) he informs Cayden that it was him all along and that he plans to take control of the city already having police informants and members of Oliver's board on his payroll. Cayden is placed into custody as a mass brawl breaks out between practically everyone as Cayden tries to figure out just who ordered the hit on his son. Oliver manages to subdue Cayden and he is taken into custody and this is where Ricardo Diaz arrives and tells him of his intentions as I previously said. What I didn't expect though is for Diaz to actually murder Cayden James in cold blood telling him to say hello to his son for him. A rather surprising ending to another real solid episode of the show. But now it goes on break until March 1st. These last 3-4 episodes of Arrow have been really strong and if it keeps up this pace until the end of the season it'll be another strong year for Team Arrow. But for now I await their return on March 1st!
