Midnight Sun review

Image
At first glance you'd think Midnight Sun is just your typical cheesy rom-com and you would be right in thinking that way. But it offers just a little bit more in terms of depth and character development than previous movies of the type that' I've seen at least in recent memory. The story follows a girl named Katie (Bella Thorne) a 17 year old aspiring musician living with a rare condition named XP (there's a scientific name for it but it's mostly referred to as XP) that prevents her from being out in sunlight. Katie lives a pretty basic life over this condition. With her mother having passed away at a young age it was mainly up to her dad to look after her and guide her through a pretty bleak childhood and although she never complained growing up it shows how much strain and impact it had on her later in the movie. I wish they would have expanded on how she grew up a bit more because for the most part that is just pushed aside for the present day Katie. A few f...

Legends Of Tomorrow 3x17 : Guest Starring John Noble review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it We've arrived at the penultimate episode of Legends Of Tomorrow's third season. And for what it's worth I really think this has been one of the finest seasons the CW has ever produced. Only behind Arrow season's 1/2 and The Flash season's 1/2.   The episode begins per the norm on the wave rider as Nate runs to the bridge informing everyone that a certain code has been broken and it's revealed it's just pancakes which was pretty funny but then Ray enters and signs the team a song he made up about the code book that Nate made up in the first place. All of this is short lived though as Gideon announces two time aborations happening at the same time. One is caused by Amya who as we saw at the end of last week's episode took the jump ship and set a course for her home in 1992. The other well that is more interesting as it's caused by Gorilla Grodd...

Arrow 6x16 : The Thanatos Guild review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it Arrow returns and for what it's worth I don't think they could have come back with a more better episode. It begins as we're treated a flashback of Thea and Malcolm Merlyn from 4 years ago. Nothing really happens though as we've seen it before but it's a nice reminder nevertheless. The episode really begins in Nanda Parbat however as The League Of Assassin's now have a new leader after Malcolm's death. A woman named Athena. (Would have liked if it was Talia instead but nope) if it was Talia it could have lead to some interesting sister bickering but also no. We see Nyssa standing before her new leader. Shortly after this a fight breaks out among the league as Nyssa detonates a plastic explosive inside the building and makes her leave.  Back at the bunker and the team are throwing Thea a going away party as she has decided to leave Star City with Roy ...

Gotham 4x16 : One Of My Three Soups review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it This week's episode of Gotham begins in Arkham Asylum as we see a security guard reading a magazine but within mere seconds the alarm for one of the inmates goes off and it's none other than Jervis Tetch a.k.a The Mad Hatter. The security officer puts on ear phones and a tape player to drown out Jervis just in case he tries to hypnotize her. He hypnotizes somebody alright but it's actually another guard and as the security guard turns around to find out what Jervis is pointing at she gets her throat slit by another member of security under Jervis's control. Turns out this is all part of Jerome's plan as Jervis goes to visit none other than Scarecrow in his holding cell who appears to be working on and developing his fear toxin even more. We don't see Jonathan Crane but we do get the master of fear in all his glory as both him and Jervis go and help Jerome ...

Legends Of Tomorrow 3x16 : I,Ava review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it Another week and yet another stellar episode of DC's Legends Of Tomorrow. In my eyes as of right now this show can do no wrong having bolstered so many quality episodes throughout it's third season. The episode begins as the team follow Sara on the bridge begging her to stay and not leave. She is adamant on leaving due to the whole fiasco that happened last week. This leads to her naming Amaya the new captain of the ship until further notice. Amaya to her credit doesn't take this duty lightly and orders Zari to help Mick with his training / teaching him how to use the Fire Totem and learn more of it's skills. Not soon after this Gary arrives on board the waverider and tells Sara and Ray that Ava is missing and hasn't been seen for days which according to him is incredibly unusual for her do so. So you guessed it, it's mission time to try and find out just ...

Gotham 4x15 : The Sinking Ship, The Grand Applause review

Image
Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it This week's episode of Gotham begins as we see Martin being looked after by two of Sofia's men in a random apartment. Right away I notice an easter egg as one of the guys is reading an issue of Detective Comics. The comic of the same name that gave us Batman for the first time all those years ago. It was easy to notice for sure but nevertheless a nice little nod. Back onto Martin and as he is flipping through his notepad he gets some instructions on how to escape to which he follows exactly to the letter. Leading to the two guys being blown to pieces by The Riddler who enters the room after the blast telling Martin that Uncle Penguin sent him. A pretty outrageous start but cool nonetheless. Onto Jim now and him and Harvey talk more in his office above the GCPD. Harvey agrees to re-join the GCPD but only until they can take down Sofia Falcone and afterwards Jim confesses a...

Game Night review

Image
From the guys who brought you Horrible Bosses this time around they give us Game Night and while we're promised a lot of things it doesn't quite deliver on them all it is still a fun watch that will have you laughing hysterically at some points. Before starting I have to point out the opening which is all the studio's involved in this movie being actual game pieces instead of the usual intro that we'd usually get. A subtle but really nice touch I thought. The story is pretty simple as it follows a group of friends who meet up once a week for 'Game Night' as they like to call it. This involves nothing out of the ordinary really mostly filled with charades friendly banter and the like but one night things don't quite go according the plan and they find themselves entangled in a real life mystery. Game Night boasts a pretty strong cast of familiar comedic actors and actresses. Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams both carry the movie throughout it's over 1...
