Legends Of Tomorrow 3x16 : I,Ava review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it

Another week and yet another stellar episode of DC's Legends Of Tomorrow. In my eyes as of right now this show can do no wrong having bolstered so many quality episodes throughout it's third season. The episode begins as the team follow Sara on the bridge begging her to stay and not leave. She is adamant on leaving due to the whole fiasco that happened last week. This leads to her naming Amaya the new captain of the ship until further notice. Amaya to her credit doesn't take this duty lightly and orders Zari to help Mick with his training / teaching him how to use the Fire Totem and learn more of it's skills. Not soon after this Gary arrives on board the waverider and tells Sara and Ray that Ava is missing and hasn't been seen for days which according to him is incredibly unusual for her do so. So you guessed it, it's mission time to try and find out just exactly what Ava has been up to. Sara, Ray and Gary pay her parents a visit and right away something seems off about them. The legends notice it and so do I. Ava's parents seem almost too perfect and Sara who puts a knife to Ava's 'Mother's throat finds out exactly why they are acting this way. It turns out they are actors who have been hired to portray her parents. Hired by an unnamed source that frequently deposits money into their accounts. I have no idea why this scene was even  in here as it didn't really add anything and wasn't funny. Although Sara with the knife was pretty funny and Ray's eagerness to eat Ava'a mom's special cookies was in true Ray style just brilliant.

Back on the waverider and Nate & Wally find out that Amaya's granddaughter Mari (who appeared in Arrow season) was injured in a fire accident in modern day Detroit. Given that Amaya lost her totem it is never passed down to Mari thus she never becomes Vixen rather a normal vigilante who still wants to protect her city. Nate and Wally go visit Mari's foster father to find out more but are interrupted by Kuasa in the hospital. Wally and Nate manage to subdue her and come up with a plan together to get back Amaya's totem from the Dahrk's. This plan doesn't go so smoothly as you'd expect as Kuasa ends up betraying Nate after Wally left to go keep an eye on Amaya on the waverider. They both return later to battle Nora Dahrk who has been completely taken over by Mallu even to the point of her father being afraid of her. I can totally see Damien teaming up with the legends in he next 2 episodes to help in taking down Mallus. But that's not imporant here as Wally, Nate, Amaya and Kuasa battle Nora in Mallus form she rips Kuasa's totem right out of her ultimately killing her. This affects every other totem as we see Zari's and Mick's both emit strange lights from them signalling a totem bearer's death.
More on the whole Ava situation now and back at the Time Bureau's head office Ray hacks into Ava's personal files only to find that she has none and the year 2213 in Vancouver has been deemed a no fly zone. Obviously Sara, Ray and Gary don't follow this warning and fly to the time period using the Bureau's ship. Once they arrive they soon find out why it's been deemed a no fly zone. Turns out that Ava Sharpe is being cloned in the future to the point where almost everyone in the city is her. Gary freaks out and calls it paradise while Sara calls it hell which was hilarious. In the distance Sara spots a facility in the distance where they clone Ava and they all go to investigate. Not surprisingly they get ambushed by a bunch of Ava Sharpe clones while snooping around inside. In all the chaos the real Ava turns up and almost instantly faints seeing a clone of herself in action. She wakes up not remembering much as Gary wiped her memory but again she sees a clone leading to her agreeing to work with the legends in an attempt to escape the facility. Not everything goes according to plan though as they get caught which leads to a fight scene involving multiple Ava's vs Sara and the OG Ava. The episode ends as Amaya racked with guilt over what happened to Kuasa goes to the jump ship and inserts her original time period of 1992. She is going home to save both her family and her granddaughter (Kuasa) this episode was in true legends style completely bonkers but at the same time so much fun to watch. I look forward to this show each and every as it truly is the best DC show on TV right now. Until next week Legends.
