Have you ever wondered just what the world of music would have been like if The Beatles and their legendary music had never been written and produced?? well that's the premise of Yesterday. The new movie written by Richard Curtis and Directed by Danny Boyle. Yesterday is a pretty incredible idea on paper and while it does have some really good moments it also suffers massively from some soul crushing ones too. Starring Himesh Patel as a struggling musician and his manager Ellie played by Lily James. After a freak accident happens and all the electricity in the world goes out for twelve seconds Himesh's character Jack is hit by an oncoming bus as he travels home on his bike. When he wakes up in hospital and after going to visit some friends he seems to be the only one who can remember The Beatles. Many people (myself included) view the original Toy Story trilogy as the perfect trilogy. It had everything you could want in a trilogy and more. So when Toy Story 4 was first announced I was quite skeptical to be honest. All the gang are once again back together as Woody and pals who at the end of Toy Story 3 were handed over to a new child named Bonnie have to deal with her latest creation. A spork made literally out of trash as he struggles with his identity. The story is definitely the most weird and bizarre out of all 4 Toy Stories but man is it enjoyable. Pixar have truly hit another home run here as not only is Toy Story another perfection addition into the franchise it is just a joy to watch. It made me feel like I was a kid again which was such an amazing feeling I can't even describe it honestly. All the original voice actors are back too which includes Tom Hanks and Tim Allen. But also along the for the ride this time is Keanu Reeves who voices a motorcycle daredevil...

The X-Men are back once more. This time for the final time on the FOX Studio banner. With the same cast from the previous 3 movies with some fresh faces thrown in for good measure can X-Men: Dark Phoenix close out the franchise in a big grand way?? X-Men: Dark Phoenix starts off with a young Jean Grey who thanks to her powers ends up crashing the car her parents are driving. This kills them both in a freak accident that leaves a young Jean without her mom and dad. Enter Charles Xavier who is again played by James McAvoy. He basically brings her to his school / home for the young and gifted. Years pass and Jean grows up to become a big part of the X-Men team. Their latest mission however seems pretty simple on paper but when it goes horribly wrong and Jean is infused with solar flare energy her life is about to never be the same again.  X-Men: Dark Phoenix is a lot of things. Booksmart is a lot of things. It's heartwarming, hilarious, devastating and emotional all wrapped into one nice package. Directed by Olivia Wilde Booksmart tells the story of two academic students and best friends Amy and and Molly. On the eve of their graduation they realize that they have focused too much on school work and have not lived enough. So they both set off to the vice president of their class's house. Molly who just so happens to be the class president is strong if a bit stuck up to start but is really quite likable. Amy is a lesbian and has a crush on a fellow classmate and the two together share the majority of the screen time together. Both are played to absolute perfection by Kaityln Dever (Amy) and Beanie Feldstein (Molly) together they share an almost telepathic bond and are a joy to watch as their night goes from pretty standard to wild and out of control.  Booksmart is a coming of age tale but there is so much here also that makes it so much more. Everyone knows Elton John. His songs are revolutionary and his costume choice extremely over the top and camp. But I don't think many know the real Elton. Born Reginald Dwight a young shy boy from England whose life isn't exactly typical for a child. His father is always away and even when he does come home he shows little to no attention for his son. His mother is always around but too doesn't show much interest for her son. His whole life changes however when he discovers his talents for the piano and from there his life gets turned upside down into a rollercoaster of sex, drugs, drink and everything else in between. With Rocketman and given how it is a musical biopic you're guaranteed 4 things. The rise of the star, the major success of the star, the downfall period and finally the rise back to the top. It's a pretty cliche formula by this point as we've seen it in Bohemian Rhapsody, Ray and others. That is however not to say that it's a bad formula...

Growing up I loved the original 1992 version of Aladdin. I had it on VHS and always used to rewind the tape time and time again to revisit Aladdin and his adventure in Agrabah. Well will this new live action version of the story live up to the source material?? Directed by Guy Ritchie Aladdin doesn't begin in Agrabah but instead a small ship. The man on the ship begins to tell the story of Aladdin, The Princess and The Genie to his kids and it is then we're brought into the first of many musical numbers. At first glance Aladdin is incredibly beautiful to look at. The production design and cinematography here is stellar from the majority of the movie. Of course there's some need I say dodgy looking CG affects but for the most part it is one of the most best looking movies visually this year.  What separates Aladdin from other live action remakes of old Disney classics however is it's performance. Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.  The season finale of Legends Of Tomorrow's fourth season has come and gone and with it we're given a big tease to next season, the reuniting of friends and even the departing of another. It begins aboard the waverider as we see Mick sharing a beer with one of the magical creatures. All the magical creatures from this season are now aboard the waverider out of Neron's reach. Speaking of Neron he and the Fairy Godmother use Charlie's powers to transform her into a member of senate so that they can reveal that magical creatures are indeed real and are a big threat. Fairy Godmother turns her into Tugamo the giant octopus like creature from earlier in the season. The entire scene descends into chaos as Sara fights with the Fairy Godmother for control of her staff.
