Top 5 Favorite Shows of 2025

Image
  1) Dexter Resurrection : Where do I even begin with this?? back in late 2023 I began watching Dexter for the very first time. I became obsessed with the whole entire cast, vibe and acting of the show. It instantly became one of my favorite pieces of TV media of all time. I binged through every bit of it including the New Blood sequel series in no time and by the time 2025 rolled around not only was the prequel series announced that was to focus on a young Dexter Morgan it was announced that Michael C Hall the legend himself was returning as Dexter Morgan in what promised to be a really different take on the character and boy oh boy was this a different and fascinating series of television of the highest possible quality. Everything from the writing, character interactions and motivations were all spot on. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better return of Dexter and waiting each week for a new episode of the summer months was truly a highlight. This wasn't just a rehash or...

Top 5 Favorite Movies of 2025

Image
  1) Sinners : Never in doubt really that Sinners was going to be my number 1 pick for my favorite movie this year. Not only was it truly original and intense it featured some of the best and most interesting character dynamics all year. From Michael B Jordan playing twin brothers who attempt to open up their own nightclub leading to some very bloody antics but also Haileen Steinfield whose performance was effortless, Sinners was Director Ryan Coogler at his absolute most creative and visual best. Striking, bold and bloody Sinners was and still is one of the best original movies I've seen in quite some time hence why it sits at number 1 on this list.  2) Nosferatu : Come to me..well this turned out to be one of the first movies I saw this year and I was instantly hooked. Both hypnotic and cryptic Nosferatu from Director Robert Eggers was like a dance in the pale moonlight with the king of the undead. Everything from the tone and setting was stunning. Visually it was bleak and ...

The Housemaid (2025) review

Image
Oh what a dark and at times disturbing web The Housemaid weaves. Starring Sydney Sweeney as a young woman out and down on her luck her life takes a drasticly good turn when she gets hired to be the housemaid of a highly wealthy family. Also starring Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar The Housemaid is an interesting at times disjointed movie that while very engaging and well paced tonally feels like two seperate movies squashed together, at least it did so for me.  Sweeney is great here and arguably steals the show as young Mille. Coming from a troubled past she plays her part well while just oozing charm and true sex appeal. Amanda Seyfried's performance is wild and chaotic leading to constant screaming battles, showdowns and an overall sense of dread for Mille as Seyfried's Nina's mental health doesn't seem to be at all stable. Enter her husband played by Sklenar who is charming, handsome and the typical big shot lawyer. After some time passes and things get more in...

The Spongebob Movie: Search for Squarepants review

Image
Who doesn't like Spongebob right?? if you're like me you grew up with the yellow sea Sponge wanting to watch the cartoon at all times of the day and night. Fast forward almost 27 years and it's still going arguably stronger than ever in terms of how frequently new episodes, spinoffs and movies now drop. Well now it's the turn of the fourth main movie and our absorbent hero is travelling to the deepest, darkest parts of the sea for his latest adventure. And what an adventure it is as Spongebob attempts to overcome challenge after challenge in the Underworld all in pursuit of becoming a 'big guy' and swash buckling hero all the while Mr Krabs, Squidward and Gary attempt to save him from the Flything Dutchman's clutches! Right off the bat it's clear that this version of Spongebob is a whole lot different than the one I grew up watching. He's more expressive, more whimsical and a lot more energetic. The animation too is slick and very pretty to look at...

Eternity review

Image
Could you imagine dying and ending up in between both the land of the living with not only your husband of 60 years but also your first true love?? that's the dilemma facing Elizabeth Olsen's character as Eternity is about love, loss and longing for what you could have. Miles Teller and Elizabeth Olsen star as a married couple of 60+ years and after Teller's character Larry's death at a family gathering he ends up in the afterlife a place where each soul has a week to choose their very own 'Eternity' where they will spend the rest of time. It is here where he meets a mysterious bartender who turns out to actually be his wifes first true love and who she planned on spending her life with until he departed for the Korean war where he was tragically killed leaving Olsen's Joan behind who later ends up meeting Larry.  It is in this afterlife where Larry decides to wait for his wife to arrive so that they can pick an Eternity together. Upon arrival all seems to...
