Superman and Lois 4x8 : Sharp Dressed Man review
Be warned there will be SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it
After the past two weeks of incredible episodes can this weeks episode of Superman and Lois continue that trend as only two episodes now remain for this show. The episode opens up with Lex Luthor who as absent from last week. He has had a bit of a overhaul and is now a whole lot more comic accurate complete witha clean shaven face and wearing a suit. Not saying he didn't look the part before but this look is absolutely fantastic and was the perfect time to introduce it. Just what has Lex up his sleeve?? that remains to be seen but for now back at the Kent home and Lois has a hospital appointment to check up on how her post cancer treatments have been going. She gets amazing news practically getting the all clear, as her and Clark are leaving the hospital they see Lex on TV on a talk show being interviewed by none other than Gordon Godfrey who is played by Tom Cavanagh. A New God in the DC comics lore here he is the top interviewer in the land and seems to really be pushing for Lex Luthor and is against Lois. Speaking of Lex his main goal here is to get Lois on the show for a debate going so far as to call her out for a sit down debate on the show later that evening will Lois accept??
Lois isn't so much conflicted to go on the show as much as Clark is. Clark is really cautious about the whole thing saying that Lex has very few moves left and he is getting desperate by asking Lois to debate him. Clark agrees to let Lois do a rebuttle at the Gazette as the press swarm on Smallville awaiting Lois's reponse. A brick gets thrown threw the Gazette's window which Clark stops but at a much slower pace than normal which John Henry notices. He asks Clark about it and runs some tests on him but more on that in a bit. The brick being thrown threw the window is the least of Lois's problems as John Henry informs her that Otis Greaves who was in D.O.D custody and who was her only key witness was found dead in his cell hours previous. Lois's only real shot at making someone confess what Lex has been up to has gone up in smoke will she now go and debate him??
The episode draws to a close with a big revelation about Clark Kent's true health and wellbeing put to the forefront after John Henry runs tests on him. He tells Clark that his reflexes have diminished, his hearing has been damaged and ultimately the heart he got from Sam Lane isn't truly fit for purpose. This means that one day Clark is going to wake up and he will no longer be Superman and have powers. It's a huge plot point that is a very interesting route to go down for sure. Back with Lex now and Lois finally shows up to debate him in front of a live audience watching on TV on Godfrey's show. The debate is pretty heated for sure with Lex having his evidence of him and Clark fighting outside his hotel in Smallville where Clark threatned him while Lois has an ace up her sleeve in the form of Lex's daughter. She is awaiting her phone call in Paris but before Lois can give the signal John Henry's entire suit and tech along with Natalie's suit are hacked by none other than Milton Fine (Brainiac) we even see the form of a Brainiac logo inside of John Henry's suit as it engulfs his body with only one mission. Kill Superman. A fight breaks out between the two which is pretty intense. Superman gets the better of John Henry and manages to get him out of the suit but the suit is out in the open for anyone to get it and someone indeed does get it and it's none other than Milton who has secured it for Lex Luthor who will finally use that as his very own War Suit. The episode ends with that and also Clark telling the boys about his condition. He doesn't exactly have much time left maybe as much as Sam Lane did with his heart. It's a tough conversation that ends this absolutely fantastic episode. This episode was brillaint from beginning to end. Much like the previous two episodes it felt so different to one another yet fits perfectly together as a trio of perfect episodes. From the debate to huminsation of Clark Kent / Superman to the ending reveal of the War Suit this was as good as it gets really. Two episode now remain for this show and it'll be a sad day for sure when it wraps up. Superman and Lois is on another level!
