Late Night with the Devil review

 


After an almost 4 month wait horror has finally gotten it's foot on the gas in 2024 and what a way to do so with Late night with the Devil. Starring the severly underrated David Dastmalchain the story of Late Night with the Devil proclaims itself a found footage horror experience unlike any other. Dastmalchain plays Jack Delroy the host of a midnight talk / variety show named Night Owls. On the night of Halloween 1977 things take a sinister turn as he and a number of guests begin to try and communicate with Satan himself. First off this movie is wonderfully set up with an opening manifesto of Jack Delroy's life. He is married, a successful TV show host who aspires to be the best but he is into some rather seedy endeavors in his spare time which play a part in the ending and commupence of it's characters. 

Presenting itself as a found footage horror in a sense Late Night with the Devil builds the tension in the room ever so slowly leading up to it's bewildering almost chaotic reveal in it's final act. We meet a person who can speak to the dead, a non believer who would do anything to prove all of these claims wrong and a doctor / patient duo who summon the entity into the television set. It's all set in between behind the scenes footage where the cast and crew begin to grow ever more afraid and uneasy. 


Late Night with the Devil is a true testament to the horror genre. It is perfectly paced, gripping and essential viewing for any fan of the medium. It handles it's subject really well and the thought of it being a VHS tape recently discovered is so eerily creepy that I can't help but still think about it even though it's all part of the story. David Dastmalchain is truly fantastic and as a whole this is easily the best horror experience you'll have possibly all year. Outstanding!

Florence Pugh stars as Saraya Knight a young girl from Norwich England. Her brother Zak Knight played by Jack Lowden has one dream. Of making it to the WWE and he will do anything to make it all possible. At it's core Fighting With My Family is exactly what the title says. A family who fight as we're shown the entire Knight family wrestling in small venues in Norwich. Gotham 5x1 : Year Zero review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it Gotham finally returns for it's fifth and sadly last season and with a run of only 12 episodes there is a lot to get through and eventually wrap up. It begins on Day 391 of No Man's Land as the final battle for Gotham comes to a head as Captain Gordon, Harvey Bullock, Riddler and even Penguin all suit up and get loaded for combat as all men led by many more GCPD officers open fire from a top a massive wall as Jim Gordon says ''For Gotham'' this of course is going to be the end of the season but let's go all the way back to day 87 of No Man's Land where we see Gordon talking to someone on a radio. He explains the situation currently going on in Gotham. The Flash 4x7 : Therefore I am review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. This show does it again. I honestly have no idea how it can just go from last week's completely flat episode to this episode which was absolutely fantastic. It's just so frustrating because as I've said before this show as the potential to be better than all CW shows combined but given how inconsistent it is just bothers me.  Onto the episode and it begins after a first of many flashbacks to Devoe's past pretty much where it ended last week as Barry and Joe begin to question Devoe and his wife at their home. Devoe of course avoids all questions like a pro and Barry and Joe are forced to leave without getting any information. Later as Devoe is teaching a class at Central City University he once again sees Barry sitting in the back of the class watching on.
