Anyone But You review

 


Anyone But you. The first rom-com I can remember in recent memory truth be told and this is actually a really good one. Starring Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney it's your basic formula of two people meeting, they get along at first but something happens leading to them hating one another, drifting apart then only getting back together when they're both dragged to a wedding involving their sister and friend respetively. It's a fine setup and to be honest it works and works really well. Powell and Sweeney right off the bat just ooze charisma and charm together and are almost too good looking together. They manage to pull of the supposed hatred between them at first leading to an ending that while predictable feels earned and warranted. 

Set in Australia for the most part Anyone But You is visually stunning with giant vistas, blue skies and views of some iconic landmarks. The energy chemistry between our two leads elevates and elevates into a satisfying conclusion but there is some bumps along the way both good and bad. First off some characters just aren't really all that likable in my opinion at least and are for the most part rather annoying whenever they're on screen. It's not all bad though as Powell and Sweeney more than make up for it in some really sexual charged encounters that will leave you a bit hot and bothered.


Anyone But You is a really fun rom-com that is surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting all that much but left with a silly grin on my face. Special mention has to go to the song Unwritten which has been stuck in my head ever since the movie came to a close as it's credits rolled with some really fun interactions between characters singing this song. Sydney Sweeney really has a bright future as she is gorgeous, effortlessly charming and full of energy and sass. Glen Powell who last I saw in Top Gun Maverick pulls off the tough albeit soft sided guy well and the two form a genuinely good connection. Anyone But You is just pure fun and should kickstart your 2024 in the right way. Check it out!

Gotham 5x1 : Year Zero review

Be warned there will be *SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it Gotham finally returns for it's fifth and sadly last season and with a run of only 12 episodes there is a lot to get through and eventually wrap up. It begins on Day 391 of No Man's Land as the final battle for Gotham comes to a head as Captain Gordon, Harvey Bullock, Riddler and even Penguin all suit up and get loaded for combat as all men led by many more GCPD officers open fire from a top a massive wall as Jim Gordon says ''For Gotham'' this of course is going to be the end of the season but let's go all the way back to day 87 of No Man's Land where we see Gordon talking to someone on a radio. He explains the situation currently going on in Gotham. Superman & Lois 3x13 : What Kills You Only Makes You Stronger review

                Be warned there will be SP OILERS* inv olved in this review. With that being said let's get into it. Season 3 of Superman and Lois has come to and end in the most devastatingly epic way. The finale opens up with Sam Lane telling Lois and Clark that Lex Luthor is nowhere to be found. Clark adds more to this by saying he can't hear him either but Lois is not convinced after all Lex did literally threaten her at the end of last weeks episode. A meteor shower is planned for the evening right at the center of Smallville town so you just know something is going to go down then and as expected something major does go down but more on that a bit later. As the boys leave the house Lois tells Clark that she is ready to be intimate again and the two fly off to a private secluded area where they can be together for the first time since Lois had her breasts removed due to her cancer.
