A Haunting In Venice review

Hercule Poirot is back once again. Now semi-retired and the setting in a post World War II Venice he reluctantly agrees to attend a seance at a broken down, decaying and supposedly haunted palazzo but soon he gets thrust into a world of ghost, secrets and shadows as a guest is murdered. Kenneth Bragh returns as the world's most famous detective and like his previous two outings he is the star of the show throughout. He is impeccably dressed from head to toe and goes about his business in such an exquisite manner. Also along for the ride are Michelle Yeoh who plays the Medium performing the seance, Tina Fey as an old friend / colleague of Poirot and Jamie Dornan a former War Hero now turned Doctor.

It's the perfect setting for the perfect murder as visually A Haunting In Venice is very bold and striking from the inner workings of the city to the dark run down house that the majority of the movie takes place in. It's bound to have you on the edge of your seat on more than one occasion too as their is scares a plenty here be that from the seance itself which needs to be seen to be believed to the ''spirits'' that haunt every inch of the building to even the bursting of a light bulb is enough to send shivers down your spine as the tension and overall feeling here is expertly handled.

With all of that being said and once the final credits roll on a stunning Venice vista is this movie any good?? and the answer is a resounding yes. It feels a lot more tighter and more focused than Death on the Nile which is where we last saw Poirot in action. It's very story driven and gets to the point almost instantly which I loved. A Haunting In Venice is spooky and spine tingling and well worth your time and attention.
