Oppenheimer review

Christopher Nolan has brought us some truly memorable movies of the years. From The Dark Knight trilogy to Inception and others. Now Oppenheimer has arrived and it is a masterclass in acting and performance art. The story of Oppenheimer is a true as it follows American Scientist J Robert Oppenheimer and his involvement in the creation of the Atomic Bomb during World War II. Oppenheimer is a pretty beefy movie clocking in at just 3 hours long and it really demands that you stick with it throughout. It is a complex and fascinating watch as the creation of such a weapon is brought to fruition by Oppenheimer and various other scientists. The impact of said Atomic Bomb leads to the slaughter of thousands and thousands of Japanese civilians.

There's a rather impressive cast here including Cillian Murphy as Oppenheimer and his performance is very impressive. It's a very straight and solid performance that just gets better and better as the movie goes on. Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh. Emily Blunt, Matt Damon and more make up what is a top tier cast and they all are acting to the highest and best of their abilities. Christopher Nolan who also co-wrote this has crafted yet another masterpiece of cinema in a movie that absolutely delivers and is as tense as it is deep and profound in it's storytelling.

Oppenheimer isn't going to be for everyone given it's subject and it's length but if you really stick with it you will be greatly rewarded. It needs to be seen on the biggest screen possible with the best sound possible. Chalk up another fantastic addition to Christopher Nolan's catalogue. Cillain Murphy may very well be in the running come Awards season too. This is one you just must go and see!
