Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning : Part One review
In what is the first of a two part epic Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt and boy what a wild ride this is. I really didn't think Mission Impossible Fallout could be topped in terms of stunts, scale and overall excitement but somehow the team behind the making of this movie have outdone themselves yet again. In what is now the seventh movie Ethan Hunt is faced with his most dangerous mission yet that involves a ghost from his past, AI that could potentially destroy the planet called ''The Entity'' and a new love interest / sparring partner all while the action and intensity is dialed up to eleven.
Right from the get go this move is unrelenting. All the gang are back from previous movies including Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames along with newcomer Hayley Atwell and as usual they all do incredible job. But the real star here as well established by now is Tom Cruise himself as the things he does are utterly spectacular. There's some truly awe-inspiring breathless moments here and he really does risk everything to deliver the greatest and biggest action packed movie he possibly can. The action varies from horse back riding in the Aruba desert to a on the edge of your seat train sequence that I don't see being topped anytime soon.
Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One is easily the best action movie of the year and quite possibly of the decade so far. It sets up what is sure to be an unforgettable second part down the line. Cruise is the quintessential action movie star and one of the best to ever do it in my opinion. This may be the seventh installment into the franchise but it shows no sign of slowing down and continues to set the bar for action movies that very few clamber to reach. This is one you just must go and see! this review will self destruct in 5 seconds.....
