Elemental review

From a young age I was a fan of Pixar movies. Toy Story 2 was the first movie I ever remember seeing in a theater. With so many amazing and spectacular movies under their belt can Pixar return to form with Elemental?? right off the bat something feels different about Elemental, it's incredibly unique and visually almost jumps right out of the screen. The story follows two opposing sides of Elements in Fire and Water who essential don't and never should mix together. The fire people as they're called come from a place called Fireland where all Fire begins live together. Well all of this changes when our main protagonist Ember meets and slowly but surely falls in love with a Water person by the name of Wade, along the way are a whole lot of different elements too like Earth and Wind which in turn does play heavily on regular human begins, identity and various other problems.

After the last couple of movies left pretty much a null and void feeling in me Elemental is a true return to form for Pixar as it totally believable, absolutely gorgeous visually and is very amusing throughout. The core relationship between Wade and Ember is also very cute and once things begin to heat up between them it will tug at the heartstrings even if just for a little bit. This is certainly Pixar's very first true love story and I think they really knocked it out of the park here.

Elemental isn't a perfect return to form for Pixar but it is pretty close. It's filled with amazing visuals, great characters and a truly remarkable love story between two opposing sides. It is certain to entertain people of all ages even featuring a very endearing animated short surrounding the main character of Up and his dog before Elemental even begins which was a great way to set the mood and feel for what was to come. Elemental is pure animated fun and proves that Pixar still have it in them to tell compelling stories with great characters.
