Superman & Lois 3x11 : Complications review
Be warned there will be SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.
The third last episode of Superman and Lois has come and gone and with it we got a whole lot of big time developments happening. The episode begins with Peia, Bruno Mannheim and Matteo. After being given the cure in last weeks episode everything seems to be going well for Peia who seems to not only have her powers under control but she has seemingly gotten even stronger if that is even possible. But it's pretty clear and evident that the cure hasn't exactly worked as Bruno Mannheim had intended but more on that a little bit later. As that is going it is finally the day of Lois Lane's big operation to remove her breasts so that she can be fully rid of cancer. Everyone arrives at the hospital and as they're being told of what is about to be done Jordan begins to panic and rushes out of the room. It turns out that his X-Ray vision power is kicking in and he can't open his eyes without basically seeing through everything and everyone. Johnathan calms his brother down and it works leaving everything mostly calm for Lois for the most part.
What's not calming however is what happens when Peia's powers begin to get out of control once again. She is injected with another vial of the cure but it has literally zero effect. Peia ends up killing one of Bruno's men infront of everyone which in turn leads to her eventually demise here. She tells Bruno how he has taken things too far and leaves heading for the outside world. It is then when her powers begin to cause tremors and blackouts across the city just as Lois is about to head in for surgery so that gets put on hold for a bit. Bruno and Matteo are overcome with worry and guilt and face criminal charges with the D.O.D, Natalie along with John Henry Irons bicker and argue over that outcome as Natalie ends up going to see Matteo who pleads with her and her dad to help his mom. Bruno is pretty against this at first but does come around as Clark leaves the hospital to help stop Peia.
The episode draws to a close as Superman stops Peia once and for all but it is at the cost of her life. He is the only one who can get close enough to her to speak with her. He tells her that it's okay to let go and that everything will be alright. Peia tells him that he wants Superman to tell Bruno and Matteo that she will love them forever and always. She passes away as Superman carries her to Bruno and Matteo who break down in tears after the death of Bruno's wife and Matteo's mom. It's a bittersweet moment for sure and one that was really well built up to leading to the maximum emotional impact. Back at the D.O.D and Bruno agrees to tell the whole story of everything he has done so long as Matteo doesn't get charged with anything. John Henry and Sam Lane agree as a deal is struck. Back at the Kent Family home and Lois is now back home still very much in pain after her surgery. Clark and Lois share a tender moment in bed. The episode ends as we see that none other than Bizarro Superman is alive and well as he screams out with his eyes shining a bright blue color. There was various other things going on in this episode like Sarah learning to deal with depression which has been the cause of pretty much everything she has gone through this season. It's some great character development for her and her family including Lana and Kyle. So yeah that was the episode. Full of great emotional and impactful moments. This show never fails to impress with it's clear love, respect and admiration of the source material and characters. It is a joy to watch that's for sure. 2 episodes now remain beginning on June 20th.
