The Flash 9x6 : The Good, The Bad and The Lucky review
Be warned there will be SPOILERS* involved in this review. With that being said let's get into it.
After the end of The Red Death's story arc in last weeks episode can The Flash begin a new story arc or will this episode be nothing but filler?? it is the latter I'm afraid and it's such a shame because this is the final season of The Flash and this episode features absolutely no Flash whatsoever as Barry and Iris take a trip to Coast City. The episode begins with a returning character from season 4. It is Becky Sharpe (Hazard) whose powers lend her the ability to instill bad luck on anyone around her. She not only survived Crisis on Infinite Earths because of this power but now she seems to be living a somewhat normal life with her even being engaged to be married. It all goes south when she is accused of attacking her fiance and taken to CCPD where she personally asks for Cecil's help with her case. Cecil who is struggling to adjust to life with Joe and her daughter living under the same room with her. She is even supposed to go to them but gets the call from Captain Kramer to come and help Becky with her case with her powers possibly playing a major factor in the success of failure of the case.
In last weeks episode we saw Khione bring back Chillblaine from the brink of death with a kiss that seemed to recreate powers of Frost. This week Chillblaine wants to test Khione to see just how powerful she is and what powers she may actually possess. They all get to work and we get the answer at the end of the episode which not only gives answers but leaves us with even more questions.
The episode draws to a close as we learn that Becky's fiance was quite the gambler and not just that but he was in some heavy debt to people you don't want to be in debt to. These same people turn up just as Becky, Alegra and Cecil begin their investigation. Becky ends up getting taken and is forced into returning to her old job of being the Blackjack card dealer in a casino. She is forced to help her brother in law clear off his debts which was his original intent with his brother ( Becky's fiance ) it's all put to a stop by Cecil and Alegra as they're victorious as a team with Chester's help who is outside in a van on comms. This is all surface level fine but really for a final season of a show about The Flash I just didn't like this at all. Doing filler episodes in a final season is a crime because you're missing out on what could possibly be some great stories and characters showing up from the past. The episode finally ends with Khione's analysis from tests by Chester. Turns out Khione is not a meta-human or even a human for that matter. So just what is she?? a goddess?? a force of nature?? the new life force avatar?? it leaves a lot of possibilities open for what comes next. That's the episode and like I just said I really didn't like this one. Unfunny and boring two of the worst things you could want in a show especially in a final season. The Flash deserves better as a character then to be sidelined in his final season. I do not like Cecil as a character at all as all of her episodes just don't seem to flow right or even interest me. Everyone should be a side character to The Flash not the other way around. The show now takes a short hiatus and will return on March 29th with an episode revolving around Nia (Dreamer) from Supergirl which could be interesting. We'll have to just wait and see.
